@stidukka 100% agree. So if I had to compare both versions, they're both really good, but really were arranged to suit different moods. The original would have felt way off for a fighting game, while it was perfect for DKC2.

@JeanDenisCote yeah if you go into detail and try find some patterns of game music and music just in general, DKC2's orginial version has little bit of like Metroid-y feeling into it that the few instruments in the background create and feels more of like game music which was on the roll on the time DKC2 came. DKC2 lived very much on moment of that ages gaming. now, the remix feels more intense and it can relate into many different categories and things when the original is just.. DKC2. period.

dkc2: calm, relaxing (not scary lol). gets going a good bit and is great music for its lvls.

ssbb: 100% remix, almost completely restyled. not much of the original is left in this version. the start and end of it r the most similar parts and the in-between sounds almost nothing like the original.

so y do many prefer the original? thats y. still i like both, but in ssbb version i mostly like the start and end of music.

If I had to guess, a Japanese composer made this.

They don't seem to do laid back ambience very well, at least not any of the Japanese game composers I've heard, so they went high energy Animé with it. It's not bad, but it's way too different from the original for my liking.

The vast majority of game soundtracks I've listened to that are composed by Japenese composers tend to be more lively and less like the tracks in DKC2. That's not a bash against Japanese composers at all, but that's typically their style. There are exceptions, but songs like this are the norm, and I'll admit it's fitting for Brawl, at least.

The original stickerbush symphony is still one of my favourite video game themes up till this day, it's actually in my computer's standard playlist.

However I absolutely love this "remix" as well, and perhaps the fact that it's not just a rock version of the old one contributes to that.

I don't see the need to draw a real comparison when both of them are different songs in their own right, this one sounds very coherent, so I dig it :)
