Those of you "haters" complaining that this game looks the same, uh hello! One, this is a pre-alpha version, not even an alpha version. Let me dumb that down, VERY EARLY LOOK at the game. Second, graphics are ok, but better than last game's, and there are NEW elements implemented with the ORIGINAL gameplay from DOA2 which we've come to know and love. Lastly, the characters have lost their frequent-criticized anime looks! That has been confirmed. Fantastic :)

@marvelguy100 The movesets are not dull, or whatever you read on the review. For one, there are no repetitive styles, ex, Tekken. Tekken repeats styles (Anna, Nina, Eddy, Christie, Asuka, Jun, etc) as where in DOA, no 2 different characters have similar styles. Some moves, at times, but each individually tweaked.

It's true that Ryu is a "Super Ninja," probably more powerful than any other unmodified human, both in peak physical condition and skilled in magic, but throughout the games, they've been suggesting that Hayate has been growing in skill to rival and even possibly surpass his old friend. Maybe we're finally going to see the conflict we've been waiting for. Hayate (now as a villain) leading the Mugen Tenshin against the heroes (now including Ayane). This time maybe, a happy end.

@TimTheKing23 If you're talking about in-gameplay, I would like to cite my DOA:D experiences. Ryu now does a HADOKEN-like ki-bolt, while Hayate does a SHORYUKEN-like spiraling uppercut. People have been spamming Ryu's ki-bolt online, so I have shifted my focus to Hayate as a more respectable character. Being a ninja player for a long time, I have always fancied myself pretty proficient in applying Ryu's moveset, but now I have surpassed that with my skill as Hayate, training against Ryu players.
@Anonym0109 im talking storywise but if you go into gameplay wise then i get what you mean like pretty much if your going against ryu you want to try not to attack mid so that you dont get countered by an izuna but like im talking about skill wise in like what they have done like i mean in NG 1 and 2 ryu has killed over 9000 fiends who are 100x his size so i feel if he were to face hayate based on that fact Hayate has nothing on him
@TimTheKing23 Yeah, he does do that, but it is an "exaggerated physics" game. All the characters fight like Tetsuya Nomura was directing at some point. Just Ryu has had much more screen-time to demonstrate it. Story-wise I think they have been heading that direction. You know, showing Hayate make improvements little by little, setting him up to be a believable challenge when he goes full-on villain.

I'm really hoping Hayashi brings back the 5 point counter system. Dimensions just wasn't the same when Team Ninja dumbed it down to 3.
In fact, if Hayashi can bring more depth and character development to all characters rather than just the ninjas, that would be awesome.
DOA has always had a better plot than any other fighter. If Hayashi can flesh that out a bit more, DOA5 would have a great story mode.

Fighting games were dead for nearly the entire decade until SF4 was released.and reinvigorated the genre so the fact that DOA4 sold "the highest in 2005 for fighting games" means absolutely nothing since it had literally no competition. It's true that Ryu is a "Super Ninja," probably more powerful than any other unmodified human, both in peak physical condition and skilled in magic, but throughout the games, they've been suggesting that Hayate has been growing in skill to rival and even possibly surpass his old friend. Maybe we're finally going to see the conflict we've been waiting for. Hayate (now as a villain) leading the Mugen Tenshin against the heroes (now including Ayane). This time maybe, a happy end.

@TimTheKing23 If you're talking about in-gameplay, I would like to cite my DOA:D experiences. Ryu now does a HADOKEN-like ki-bolt, while Hayate does a SHORYUKEN-like spiraling uppercut. People have been spamming Ryu's ki-bolt online, so I have shifted my focus to Hayate as a more respectable character. Being a ninja player for a long time, I have always fancied myself pretty proficient in applying Ryu's moveset, but now I have surpassed that with my skill as Hayate, training against Ryu players.

@TimTheKing23 Yeah, he does do that, but it is an "exaggerated physics" game. All the characters fight like Tetsuya Nomura was directing at some point. Just Ryu has had much more screen-time to demonstrate it. Story-wise I think they have been heading that direction. You know, showing Hayate make improvements little by little, setting him up to be a believable challenge when he goes full-on villain.
