@gear377 exactly haha... i just found out today that you can't put custom players on custom teams in madden anymore... not a huge deal but you could do it 5 years ago

Madden 98 (on the genesis) was the best 16-bit madden game. 93 didn't have any sense of speed. for example, that play at 6:12 should have gone for more than 2 yards. Its like they slowed the game down just so the stats would be a little more realistic. But 98 has a great feel to it. The speed of the game seems just right.

To this day, this is the best Madden game. It doesn't have to be 100% realistic to be good, just fun.

Yeah this was the third Madden game on the Genesis and the last one to be named "John Madden Football"...

Without the NFL license back then, they had to use city names without team names, so to differentiate the Giants from the Jets, the Jets were named New Jersey.

yeah, since they couldnt call them the jets, they probably put them as new jersey so people wouldnt mix them up with the giants or something... although they play in new jersey so it kinda makes sense

It was madden 2005 collectors edition is where you can play this game. Sucks you can only play exbition mode though but still a fun game! :D

im not sure about 2002... i heard you can play it on the madden 09 collectors edition game though.. even though i've never seen a video of it.. and yeah i agree haha... the old madden themes are so catchy
