when i install redpower and buildcraft on a vanilla server and place a light from redpower it places the light then the light turns into an iron pipe! ive reinstalled/downloaded over 5 times i need help.

@NITWZ : This "probably" means that the block IDs are not consistent between your server and your client. There's a file named .minecraft/redpower/redpower.c­fg. View that file to see if the block IDs are the same as those in your server's redpower.cfg file. If not, that's your problem. Make sure you're installing the correct version for both client and server. Also, wipe out the config before re-installing (if you're going to do that again)

@SeanChaos117 What zip tool are you using for modding? That may have something to do with it. Also, don't remove the META-INF in the craftbukkit jar file.

@TheDudefromestonia : Your client installation may not be correct. Make sure the client has Modloader, ModLoaderMP, MinecraftForge and all the mods that you're installing. Try it on single player first to see if you can access all the items from the mods that you have on your server, then if everything looks right, try to connect.

@TheDudefromestonia I believe this means you may not have MinecraftForge installed; or it was not installed correctly. Minecraft could not find a particular class that belongs to MinecraftForge.

@rafaPCPRO : Sounds like the client installed ok, but there's an issue with just the RedPower files. Make sure that you have the RedPower zip file(s) properly installed in the server's "mods" folder. When the server starts up, make sure you see that RedPower mods (there are a few of them) are enabled.

@dethcrow666 I recommend the latest versions of all files, as they tend to fix bugs. When I did this video, the files that I showed were the latest.

@chillyCraft It appears to just give me a lot of errors and when i hit enter in the prompt it just closes.. I made a backup of my original settings just in case so its on those now.. I will have to do this again to recreate the problem to be more specific.. but the errors stretched further then the prompt would be able to go back, I used the latest versions of everything available.

@phoenixdon Since there's r10 available for ModloaderMP, I would try a fresh installation on a clean bukkit jar. You should have ModloaderMP r10, MinecrafForge 1.1.2 r3, and if you're installing PortalGun, a "net" folder from that mod. The rest of the files are all zip files (if you're using the latest versions) that you put in your "mods" folder. All the tar.gz files have been replaced by zip files in later revs.

@AnimatedHumanify : There have been later versions of RedPower, MinecraftForge and ModloaderMP ports to Bukkit since this vid was made. I could only suspect that some of these bugs may be fixed in later versions. Go to the links that I provided in the video, but download the latest versions of each to see if those help.

@gamemaker960 : Do you mean when to install TMI? You can do that as the last step. If you want just RedPower and TMI, then Modloader, ModloaderMP, MinecraftForge, TMI in the minecraft.jar. Then copy the RedPower zip files into your mods folder.

@jeppedk2006 As a rule of thumb, just use the latest version because those tend to have bug fixes, unless you run into problems, then backtrack. Without seeing the full error, I can only guess that you didn't install the matching version of the client that you have on the server. Try to install BuildCraft v2.2.5 (latest) on both client and server.

you can fix the blocks that are not showing up in TMI by going to your .minecraft folder and clicking the file toomanyitems (it is a text file.).

then change /give {0} {1} {2} too

@c905sonyericsson : That means that you either installed the wrong version on the client side, or you didn't install the BC on the client side at all. Make sure you match the version that you installed on the server.

Forge 1.1.2 vy.class hotfix. Fixes a crash in SMP when breaking redwires, possibly other places. i do not what to do with this so i did not add it. Do i need to?

@Coopatrol I didn't have to start from beginning. But I always make a save of everything including the jar and my world before attempting to overwrite things with newer versions. If all else failed, then I start from beginning.

Ok, it worked (buildcraft+industrialcraft), but after I installed mo creatures on top of it(I already have a working mo creatures server), things didn't work anymore. Any ideas? Or there's a specific reason you didn't include that one?

Turned out it was outdated. I recommend if anyone has the same problem, get mo creatures where you pointed for industrialcraft and most of the other server mods.
