J'ai eu le grand bonheur de connaître Mado Robin et de l'écouter assez souvent. Aucun enregistrement ne lui rend justice. En réalité sa voix était un émerveillement, ne ressemblait à aucune aucune autre voix humaine. J'étais là pour sa dernière Lakmé. Elle était très fatiguée et a dit au chef, à la répétition, qu'elle ne bisserait pas l'air des clochettes comme elle en avait l'habitude. À la représentation du soir, elle l'a chanté 3 fois devant une salle en délire.

Quand j'étais tout jeune mes parents m'ont offert une soirée à l'Opéra Comique écouter et voir Mado Robin dans Lakmé. A cette époque , je ne fus pas impressionné et aujourd'hui qu'elle n'est plus là , je la regrette d'autant plus!

her inhuman range was the only reason she had a career (similar to her nightengale like german counterpart, erna sack), her technique isnt bad, but the tone of her voice isnt exaclty pleasing to the ear and her voice has little body. This is also extremely slow

la voix est une horreur, les notes aigües, elles, sont stupéfiantes mais bon, ça ne fait pas une grande artiste. et surtout, qu'on ne vienne pas me parler ""d'une époque"", les Tetrazzini, Ponselle et autres, avaient une toute autre allure et caractérisation 50 voire 100 ans plus tôt.

Mado Robin avait vraiment une voix pure!!! même si on dit qu'elle n'avait pas une grande technique, je trouve que sa voix nous transporte avec sa simplicité et son humilité car elle n'était jamais arrogante sur ses capacités vocales et ne se vantait jamais. Enfin c'était une grande artiste

D'accord, dans ce fameux air je préfère (d'entre toutes) "Renée Doria" que je ne trouve sur ce site.

Peu importe l'époque le "transport le ressenti" d'une voix .. c'est BEAU (mais on a dù oublier ce que cela veut dire dans tous les domaines des arts.

She did not die of liver cancer but Leukemia according to two LP records I have. Really great top. Sings with ease. Have not heard any today who are as good for that!

Robin arrangements and performances are always a treat. Ellen Beach Yaw, who died c. 1948, was her equal in the high-note stratesphere. Young K. Dondalska is NOW doing the same thing.  A Google check will lead you to her one and only CD, which is incredible.
