nice collection my dad and i have the WHOLE john deere M series. the M, M high crop, Mi (a yellow and orange one) MC, Mt, Mt with wide front, Mt with single wheel.
The fellow trying to start the MC crawler would fare a little better if he had installed a Pertronix solid state ignition unit on the beast. I did on one of my "M" workhorses and now it starts first time, every time. Best alteration I ever made, and, I am a stickler for authenticity!
The M series consists of the M being the original M, MT being the M with a tricycle front end, MC being the crawler version of the M, and Last the MI being the Industrial version of the M, note the orange coloration
What year and serial number is the mi??im restoring one with a mower on it.

A lot of MC's are straight yellow as well. Especially if they were orderd by loggers.

According to the WEIRDDEERE website there were only 1032 "MI" industrials built.
Very low slung like a modern utility tractor.

I love these old john deere m's. I have got two of them one is a 1949 model and the other is a 1952. One is restored and the other is on its way.
