You could let the nail polish dry then use a strengthener or a base coat, top coat, maybe even a clear nail polish to apply the gems. :)

rimmel london lasting pro has the best black nail polish. so pigminted and stays on for about 3 to 4 days. not bad for 4 dollars. finally found a good black for cheap haha

if the glitter isn't cosmetic grade, the color coating can melt off in nail polish or the entire glitter itself can melt into mush. there are cheaper cosmetic grade glitters but i wouldn't recommend the ones at the craft stores
