  • This is really a pretty awful video. You don't show us anything about installing the CPU... you just tell us what to do, which is pretty misleading. And you'd have to be deluded to think that thermalpaste will spread out to all of the cpu.

  • He just cum on the cpu

  • HEY MY NAME IS TROLL AND I'am TELLING YOU TO GET A BETTER CAMERA.

  • lol , how much thermal past does he put there ? lol

  • just 1 comment for this video: EPIC FAIL !!

  • WRONG! you spread the termal paste, why didn't you show how to put the cpu in the motherboard?

  • Comment removed

  • @ixy1987 You don't need thermal paste. Just a little bit of water on the cpu will become sealed by the fan, and continually act as a coolant. Thermal paste is a waste of money.

  • @teetertoter3 well, physics dictate that after the water has evaporated from the heat a CPU generates, the temperature WILL continue to rise. so the cpu's temerature will stick around 100 degrees C (which is already not good) for a while, untill all the water is evaporated. then it will continue to rise.

water has no maximum temperature. it would work when the cpu is used for shorter periods of time, and then shut off long enough to let the temperature lower again to room temperature.

  • what kind of shit is this, asshole uploader , i cant see anything , flag this video ppl

  • at 0:08 he's like "how install motherboards!" like we are 2 fucking years old.

And at 0:44 he says "for a socket 939 like we have here.." I learned this guy is a dumbass. It doesn't matter what socket it is. u do the same thing for every CPU except for cpu fans that have it pre-applied.

  • @The2BillionthOne Oh yeah I forgot. if u need help building a REAL pc, PM me. Do not listen to Retard Village.

  • hey dummy the purpose of a video is visual. loose the text

  • wtf is that all the info?

  • HAHAHAH!!! that's WAY too much!

  • cant you just use toothpaste? on the cpu

  • you must glue it when your gonna have lan what about it sliding off lol

  • yay

  • Damn Logan from TigerDircet is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more better than this

  • ill say!!!!! like he actualy goes throught all of the steps clerley

  • agreed. 3DGAMEMAN is also pretty good. i basically teached myself to install a cpu in a socket

  • Yeah totally agree. 3DGAMEMAN teached me howto build my first system

  • ok this vid is dumb like all the ones i see on how to install a cpu on the motherboard you just put it in......lol and it works? i have alot of old computers and wen i pull the cpu out of one and put it back in and turn it on its a black screen...i know i'm no expert....lol i just learn as i go....i'm going to buy a new cpu and motherboard so wen i get it i just put the cpu in and turn it on and it works?..there's no programing the CPU in the motherboard? need a lil help. before i go buying. lol

  • This is the way it works - the processor (the little chip) by itself, usually falls right in place and essentially, it's good to go. HOWEVER, you can't run the processor without having some sort of cooling unit on it, like the fan and heatsink. It is extremely important to put a fan on top of the chip. Some come with a paste patch underneath the fan and some don't. Fans that come straight from the company usually do. In this case, he is putting paste for the fan.

  • can any cpu work?

  • Yes, any CPU can and SHOULD have a fan and/or heatsink on it. Otherwise, your CPU can burn out. They get really really hot!

  • thanks ok

  • All of this guy's videos are terrible. What the hell is wrong with Expert Village? Don't they look at these?

  • this video is crap! you skipped a lot of steps!!

and this looks like a 939 amd board and unless the cpu is oem u don't use grease! or you will void the warranty! intel and amd both have this posted on there sites!

  • Good thing I read the comments before I used this as instructions for the building of my computer! O.O

  • this explained jack all

  • This video is retarded. ok that is way too much paste,. and it needs to be spread out before you put on the heat sink. These videos need to be of better quality. ExpertVillage should only use people that the name of their channel implies

  • that is alot of goop

  • This video should NOT be used as an instructional video. I can not stress this enough, when working with expensive parts like processors PLEASE take your time. There is no need in rushing the thermal paste. Take your time and evenly spread it so you know that there is no excess flowing off into your MoBo and you know that there is an even amount spread across the CPU.

  • i am realy angry that a channel called expertvillage woud provide such bad instructions.

  • lol, just take a plastic bag, put ur finger in it, and push it, until it takes ur finger's shape! Now, cut that shape, put it at ur finger, and start spreading the paste around the CPU. Thats the best way, i think...

  • Worst shit ever, you would have to SPREAD the thermal compound on the whole CPU

  • WHAT????

  • I just recently bought an E8200 with an intel core 2 duo stock heatsink. the processer fit in perfectly but the heatsink did not. I used to have a Intel Pentium dual-core and the Pentuim dual-core stock heatsink, which u had 4 screws that fit in my mobo fine. BUT my new core 2 duo heat sink has 4 push-ins instead of the screws. The push-ins wont fit in the four little holes (thats what she said...) on my mobo. Any ideas?

P.S can i use my old Pentium dual-core stock heatsink for my E8200?

  • you can as they both share the same socket

  • lol... u have the wrong socket then

  • nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

  • .....

  • i guess i only can put heatsinks with screws...

  • like they are scared to make long detailed video's.. damn

even ur neighbour wouldnt get how to put cpu after watching this crap, u people didnt even show u need to be careful with the socket pins, im 12 and i even know that jesus..

  • NO NO not a good way to put the thermal past on the CPU, you don't just put a massive BLOB in the middle and hope the heat sink with spread it out for you if that don't spread out properly there will be air gaps and you will end up with hot spots that will kill your CPU, you apply a small amount to the center and use a business card or credit card or something and spread it out evenly.... i thought these people are supposed to be experts?

  • what about thermal paste that comes pre-applied, there are empty spaces that are on it, so are you saying the manufacturer is also wrong?

  • actually i have got my computer back from the shop about 1 month ago because this thing got really loud and suddenly just shut off, so i took it back to the shop and the guy said it was because the thermal past looked like it had been put on by a 2 year old, and that was not a custom build that was one bought from a shop and OEM one so HP built it, so yes I'M saying the manufacturers are wrong!.

  • thats why when i get a new cpu or heat sink i scrape of the crapy stuff and put some decent stuff on because the stuff they put on is normally cheap nasty crap. I'm not saying that the manufactures are wrong but think about it, they are on a tight demand for these things and they need to keep cost down they haven't got time to piss about taking ages to nicely sped it out making sure its even they just need the numbers out , not trying to start an argument I just saying, don't take any offense

  • Most manuals, like the how-to from AS5 and MX-2, as well as numerous ppl on fora, tell you NOT to spread it. There are 2 clips here showing you that spreading it has more chance to making airgaps.

    Just saying...

  • yeah thats a good point but the IT corse i did told me never to do that and in my experience its better to spread it out evenly thats why most thermal compound comes with a little plastic spreader, its not just to look pretty it there to use...

no aggression at all here like you I'm just saying, i think its a case of personal preference because iv seen allot of video saying to spread it and allot saying to use the heat sink personally i think its better to spread it...

  • @viperfrank That is exactly what you CANNOT do, a blob in the middle is actually correct! Spreading it around with a credit card or whatever makes air bubbles more likely to form... and I have backup evidence for my claim. Go to Innovation Cooling's website and read their guide on application instructions for their paste.

  • Fuck off

  • not good

if this was my first time i could have put the cpu in upside down, at least have correct information.

    please don't make more videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • really poor explanation

  • expert village = what the crap is expert, if its this bad, than life sucks

  • if your motherboard supports the chip you want, then yes. read the manuel of your motherboard first

  • terrible.

If it was my first time I would have no

clue, on whether or not to touch the bottom of it, or how to put it in.

There was no explanation about that,

    -1/5

  • Expert Village = Worst Expertise ever.

  • 1/5

  • wtf AMD heatsinks all ready have that compund on it unless it is aftermarket

  • you will have to apply the heatsink yourself, as for the thermal compound you will be able to tell when you look at the bottom of the heatsink if it is there or not

  • do u have to use Thermal Compound what happens if u dont use it

  • You will have your CPU and motherboard said goodbye.

  • if you buy a cpu with heatsink, it will be pre applied, if you buy them seperately, you will have to apply it yourself

  • and if I buy an AMD athlon 64x2 dualcore 6400+ black edition will the heatsink be pre applied?

  • with the black edition you dont get the heatsink or fan with it, so you will have to do it all yourself (i got that CPU)

  • AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-57

    (512KB L2 cache, 1.9GHz)

HOw about my Acer Aspire 4520

    1.90 GHZ

    768 MB RAM

    XP

Can I Upgrade mine to Quad Core? From Athlon to Intel Quad Core? If not then what is the equivalent of Intel Quad Core to Athlon?

MY Dual Core is not over clock. Mine is 1.8 Ghz T_T Most of the game Dont work! They said that The DMC4 game needs over clock cpu and 1 GM or better 2gb ram. If I upgrade my Ram then its still useless ryt? Not even working in PCSX2 T_T

  • u can't. AMD has an other socket then Intel. There are also different amd sockets: am2, am2+(for quadcores) for example!

  • t___t WHY CANT? I thought laptop was powerful than pcs in their first release. Too bad they cant be upgradable. I cant Upgrad my F.ucking video card!!! acer 4520

  • the problems are the different socket types. If u have a modern socket u can upgrade ur processor ;)

  • yeah but amd quad core sucks

and you need a better video card

and it wont even say ur video card >.>

just get dual core 3.0 3.1 or 3.2

    and a 7800GT + nvidia video card

and 2 GB of ram (2000mb)

  • look how he plays with the glue =)

  • oh yea and good to see that expert village awnsers questions...........thats fuckin sarcasim!!! asses!!!!

  • wow this guy is a faggot

  • Hi, same as joey, will i have to buy a new os? im running windows home atm.

  • i changed mine and all i di was plug and play i had to download the new drivers but all is good now!!!

  • so after all this when its put back together what do you have to do??? anything in the bios settings??? i orderd a new motherboard and cpu.... so i was just wondering if it was plug and play???

  • booooooooooooo bad reply thumbs down

  • Bad shout! Go home.
