Well I think Bush had the right idea. Give the banks a trillion dollars and they don't have to tell us what they did with it. We can trust banks as they have the general population interests at heart.
You have no idea how fucked up it is and is going to get! "OLD MONEY" is coming back to get us for being free for so long. Check out the act that was passed in 1913 comcerning the Fed.
wow he says he wants a free check but he makes waaaaay more than a lot of ppl that actually need the money. giving him money is no better than the asswipes that run the banks
Ford didn't get a direct bailout.....they did get a few indirect bailouts...1) Cash for Clunkers was paid for by tax credits(governement collects less money and has bigger deficit). 2) The Fed, which long ago stopped being independent, keeps fed funds rate at 0-1/4% and bought trillions in loans and hundreds of billions in treasuries to keep rates lower than they would be, exposing the taxpayers to a lot of risk. The govt guaranteed most of the new car loans that the big banks made.
I'm also very close to getting into the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas but your right I don't hve a clue. I've only looked at the melt down from every avenue and have written a dozen+ papers on it.....

Learn about gardening, hydroponics, and permaculture and try to implement the concepts into your life and your (community). Learn about how to become self sufficient for all your needs; food, energy, etc. The less money we just hand over to these scoundrels the better. Essentially, and what no one wants to hear, is that people have to altogether rethink the way they are living.
Maybe you sholdnt spend taxpayers money to save "sick" buisnesses who are not properly runned and instead try to focus on "healthy" buisniesses with new ideas. One of the best things qabout cpaitalism is that eventely a company who cant perform will go down and be replaced by a better one. And he is right really since it´s bosses who led their companies into this maybe it´s the bosses who should pay. Sorry for my bad English.
He is absolutely right on about this. Ford CEO makes $21 million, GM CEO makes $15 million. They might want to try cutting their salaries down to $1 million and then we'll giv you a loan. I don't feel sorry for a CEO making millions while I struggle to pay my bills making $40K a year. Why should I bail them out?
Intellectual heavy weight no. Its more complicated than what he's making it out to be. Bottom line the bail out could have been good for the country if we didnt' have a lameduck president.
Can you read? I said the bailout had the possibility to be good for the country if our president wasn't immune to being held accountable (lameduck president) and thus the money and the transparancy went out the window. Because they are getting the hell out of dodge in January. If he was in his first term the bailout would have been used according how congress wanted it to be used. Btw i trust the Fed's judgment over yours. Fail. >.>
You trust the Fed's "judgment"? Lol. What does that even mean? The Federal Reserve is made up of member banks that are private. Private entities that are in business to make profit, understand? Their only judgment is to stay in business and make profits. Stop being a damn fool.
And saying that a lameduck president is immune to being held accountable is a retarded thing to say. Plus the Congress is just as much to blame for passing the bill, if not more.
Okay your really and idiot. Do you know what a lameduck president means. No you dont so i'll tell you. It means a sitting president is in the position to not face any consequences for their actions due to their inabilty to run for election. So ya Bush could say to the economy fuck you and other than his image wouldn't have shit to be accountable for... hence why this bailout there isn't accountability or transparency. Why bother if it doens't matter? Stop getting on the bandwagon and think.
How does not being able to run for president again make him immune to being held accountable for anything? If he is a war criminal, then he can be charged. If the bailout was an act of treason to this country, then he can be charged. Hahaha you look so stupid sitting there explaining what a lameduck president is, as if you're actually informing anyone of something they don't know already. Anyway, you fail.
LOL you thought you outsmarted me sry but lets make it clear what we are talking about. I believe it would be the financial bailout right. Or are you to stupid to keep on one subject. The conduct of the War on Terror and torture has nothing to do with a bailout. He's potentially pardoning himself from war crimes lol not the bailout. Wow you need to enroll in a logic class before you emberrass yourself anymore.
I never said he was pardoning himself for the bailout. Wow, someone can't even make an analogy without you putting words in their mouth. Fail. The whole point is that being a lame duck doesn't make you immune to being held accountable for being a criminal, idiot.
See you dont even undestand logic then. A analogy only works if it supports the topic. However your analogy is something different than the topic: is or isn't the bailout good for this country. But you dont understand that because once again by using criminal you are referencing him to the war on terror and terrorism which for fuck sakes we are not talking about. Kid dont speak until told to, your ignorance is painful to deal with.
"using criminal you are referencing him to the war on terror"
Wrong. Criminal is a reference to anything criminal, which includes TREASON. Get it? Now if you want to continue putting words in other people's mouths then you're not even following the discussion. Are you saying that he can't be held accountable for any criminal activities if it doesn't relate to the war on terror? Why would you think he can't be held accountable?
You are stupid kid. How would Bush being a criminal in terms of the bailout? See there you go again bringing in unrelated comments to the original topic. Let me guess treason would be a fitting charge against bush on the bailout lol. Fuck off moron until you grow a brain.
"How would Bush being a criminal in terms of the bailout?"
It's called treason. Can you read? And yes, treason would be a fitting charge for Bush/Paulson and the rest who conjured up this bailout with all its secrecy so that they could take hundreds of billions of dollars from Americans' tax money to send it to foreign investors. This was a clear display of allegiance to a foreign entity, and not to the American people. That is called treason, get it?
It's called CAPITALISM Folks; if a company poorly manages their business THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO FAIL! Believe Me, and the free market; Some one will step up and do a better job! What we are witnessing is the "Nationalizing & Socializing" of every aspect of Our lives and economy. That's called NAZISM PRESCOTT BUSH and HITLER have finally pulled it off! Thanks W! Google: Gen. Smedley Butler Union Bank Skull & Bones Op. PAPERCLIP WAKE UP! These Corp. Traitors must HANG!
Yes dude...you GOT a free cheque... the economic stimulus, remember? And if its any consolation to you, the big business got a bailout out of its OWN money. The people played a VERY SMALL role in the bailout money because taxes collected from middle class account for a minor fraction of total revenue. Stop pretending like middle class ppl paid as much tax as Wall St did. So what's your point.. Wall St.'s taxes should build your roads but they cant get help from their own money?
lol, somebody defending the bailout. You know how much the national debt is? Who is that up to to pay that off? everyone. They are gonna keep raising taxes on everything in the future to pay off the debts we are creating now. I only got $381 dollars off that last stimulus, and where did that go? to pay my bills. Stimulus does not work. If it was their own money then why are they asking congress for it, no sir that is our money that should be used on services for all Americans.
Friend, the big corp may have got more than $381, but u can bet they used it to pay their bills too. When you say "everyone paid for the bailout" you seem to assume that everyone paid the same tax. Is that true? If you and I created a fund in which I put $1 and you put in $10, would you say that 50c of every $1 spent came from my pocket? If 200 million adults like u are given $381 each, thats abt $76bn in all. Its is in prop to the amt of tax we mid class pay...they got $700bn... ratio is right.
The middle class pay for everything in the economy. Big businesses might pay more taxes relative to the sum paid by middle class people, but their earnings and profits are FAR higher than any working man. Besides, who do you think funds wall st.? Who buys all the products of big business in the end? Who floats the bill? The working man. That is where all cashflow comes from. Also, your comment about wall st. building roads, give me a break, the gas tax pays for the roads to be built/maintained.
...and when I say big business pays more taxes that what the middle class does, I'm talking only on an individual basis, not as a whole. The VAST majority of taxes collected comes from the middle class. If you look at it in ratio of profit earnings to tax expendature, it's easy to see how deep the middle class are getting stuck with taxes. Banks and big business are nothing but predators that feed on the middle class. MOST OF US ARE VICTIMS OF CAPITALISM!
We're fucked if we do and fucked if we don't. It's better to let the crippled companies die and use that money to start new institutions than keep the old ones alive a little longer.

Intellectual heavy weight no. Its more complicated than what he's making it out to be. Bottom line the bail out could have been good for the country if we didnt' have a lameduck president.

It's called sarcasm, ha ha.
godlesscontrarian 3 years ago
You don't even know where the bailout money went, so how could you know if it could have been good for the country? Fail.
gtg309v 3 years ago
Can you read? I said the bailout had the possibility to be good for the country if our president wasn't immune to being held accountable (lameduck president) and thus the money and the transparancy went out the window. Because they are getting the hell out of dodge in January. If he was in his first term the bailout would have been used according how congress wanted it to be used. Btw i trust the Fed's judgment over yours. Fail. >.>
nf289 3 years ago
You trust the Fed's "judgment"? Lol. What does that even mean? The Federal Reserve is made up of member banks that are private. Private entities that are in business to make profit, understand? Their only judgment is to stay in business and make profits. Stop being a damn fool.

And saying that a lameduck president is immune to being held accountable is a retarded thing to say. Plus the Congress is just as much to blame for passing the bill, if not more.
gtg309v 3 years ago
Okay your really and idiot. Do you know what a lameduck president means. No you dont so i'll tell you. It means a sitting president is in the position to not face any consequences for their actions due to their inabilty to run for election. So ya Bush could say to the economy fuck you and other than his image wouldn't have shit to be accountable for... hence why this bailout there isn't accountability or transparency. Why bother if it doens't matter? Stop getting on the bandwagon and think.
nf289 3 years ago
How does not being able to run for president again make him immune to being held accountable for anything? If he is a war criminal, then he can be charged. If the bailout was an act of treason to this country, then he can be charged. Hahaha you look so stupid sitting there explaining what a lameduck president is, as if you're actually informing anyone of something they don't know already. Anyway, you fail.
gtg309v 3 years ago
Which is why he is trying to pardon HIMSELF. Because he might be held accountable for his actions idiot.
gtg309v 3 years ago
LOL you thought you outsmarted me sry but lets make it clear what we are talking about. I believe it would be the financial bailout right. Or are you to stupid to keep on one subject. The conduct of the War on Terror and torture has nothing to do with a bailout. He's potentially pardoning himself from war crimes lol not the bailout. Wow you need to enroll in a logic class before you emberrass yourself anymore.
nf289 3 years ago
I never said he was pardoning himself for the bailout. Wow, someone can't even make an analogy without you putting words in their mouth. Fail. The whole point is that being a lame duck doesn't make you immune to being held accountable for being a criminal, idiot.
gtg309v 3 years ago
See you dont even undestand logic then. A analogy only works if it supports the topic. However your analogy is something different than the topic: is or isn't the bailout good for this country. But you dont understand that because once again by using criminal you are referencing him to the war on terror and terrorism which for fuck sakes we are not talking about. Kid dont speak until told to, your ignorance is painful to deal with.
nf289 3 years ago
"using criminal you are referencing him to the war on terror"
Wrong. Criminal is a reference to anything criminal, which includes TREASON. Get it? Now if you want to continue putting words in other people's mouths then you're not even following the discussion. Are you saying that he can't be held accountable for any criminal activities if it doesn't relate to the war on terror? Why would you think he can't be held accountable?
gtg309v 3 years ago
You are stupid kid. How would Bush being a criminal in terms of the bailout? See there you go again bringing in unrelated comments to the original topic. Let me guess treason would be a fitting charge against bush on the bailout lol. Fuck off moron until you grow a brain.
nf289 3 years ago
"How would Bush being a criminal in terms of the bailout?"
It's called treason. Can you read? And yes, treason would be a fitting charge for Bush/Paulson and the rest who conjured up this bailout with all its secrecy so that they could take hundreds of billions of dollars from Americans' tax money to send it to foreign investors. This was a clear display of allegiance to a foreign entity, and not to the American people. That is called treason, get it?

Glad to see an intellectual heavyweight like Ashton finally weigh in on this.
He's right though. The bailout is bad news.

I want a free check too!!!
Seriously the economy fucked my decent paying job up.
Soulrazr 3 years ago
Yes dude...you GOT a free cheque... the economic stimulus, remember? And if its any consolation to you, the big business got a bailout out of its OWN money. The people played a VERY SMALL role in the bailout money because taxes collected from middle class account for a minor fraction of total revenue. Stop pretending like middle class ppl paid as much tax as Wall St did. So what's your point.. Wall St.'s taxes should build your roads but they cant get help from their own money?
abhish1313 3 years ago
lol, somebody defending the bailout.
Soulrazr 3 years ago
Friend, the big corp may have got more than $381, but u can bet they used it to pay their bills too. When you say "everyone paid for the bailout" you seem to assume that everyone paid the same tax. Is that true? If you and I created a fund in which I put $1 and you put in $10, would you say that 50c of every $1 spent came from my pocket? If 200 million adults like u are given $381 each, thats abt $76bn in all. Its is in prop to the amt of tax we mid class pay...they got $700bn... ratio is right.
abhish1313 3 years ago
The middle class pay for everything in the economy. Big businesses might pay more taxes relative to the sum paid by middle class people, but their earnings and profits are FAR higher than any working man. Besides, who do you think funds wall st.? Who buys all the products of big business in the end? Who floats the bill? The working man. That is where all cashflow comes from. Also, your comment about wall st. building roads, give me a break, the gas tax pays for the roads to be built/maintained.
LyrumusX 3 years ago
...and when I say big business pays more taxes that what the middle class does, I'm talking only on an individual basis, not as a whole.
LyrumusX 3 years ago
The VAST majority of taxes comes from middle class? You really need to get your facts right.
Who buys all the products of big business in the end? The working man!
Well then: who produces all those things working man buys.. Big business..imagine how your life would be without AC, Car, etc.?

We're fucked if we do and fucked if we don't. It's better to let the crippled companies die and use that money to start new institutions than keep the old ones alive a little longer.
