YES, I m totally agree with you, there is NO better music yet on this planet, but this one, Sleeping beauty is the perfection ! Magnificent magical piece of all time !
I read a story somewhere about a ballerina who farted while on stage. Apparently the whole cast could smell it due to it's potency. And while that night, they got positve reviews for being excellent, the actors wouldn't leave her alone about if for a while.
If you had read the previous comments you'd know, since it's been told too many times before. Anyway...
@natyfalcao She's Marie-Agnès Gillot, étoile of the Paris Opera Ballet, and @SBRJulia she's not lilac because she's not the Lilac Fairy. In this production the Lilac Fairy is a mime role and her dancing parts are performed by a different fairy dressed in blue.
@groovestufs Yes, I'm sure - I have this DVD and Gillot's name appears in the credits as both the lead fairy and the Diamond Fairy. Actually, Aurélie Dupont is Aurora in this same production.
I've seen Aurélie and Marie-Agnès dancing in many different ballets since I was very little, so I would recognize them even in the blurriest video; but in my opinion, they are easily distinguishable even if you're not very familiar with them.
@NealonNews She isn't the Lilac Fairy in this production. The real Lilac is a non-dancing part, this fairy is just sort of the "lead fairy." Nureyev's choreography, not mine. : )
I highly doubt it. If you can, then why aren't you in a national ballet company on the level that she is?? But your pointe shoes where your mouth is. I f you can do it even half as well as her, then post a video reply of you doing it in your studio. If not, then just stop tlaking.
Yes it is - and they should rename the character to Lilac Goddess when she's dancing because she is not fairy on stage - she's too ethereal and stunning. I love her work!
the orchestra is perfection

@NealonNews This is Nureyev's version, in which the Lilac Fairy isn't a dancing role. But the variation is danced by another fairy. XD

Yup, Marie-Agnès Gillot. POB calls this the 7th Fairy Variation though. The Lilac Fairy isn't en pointe in this production.
