@alfredosauce96 People don't like this album because this is one of the few good songs on it. Most of the beats are whack with shitty pop, electronic, autotuned choruses. It was the label who forced him to do it though, obviously people know Lupe's deep.
@NatoriousGmc it turns out Lupe loves Electronic music. Thats why FOTP had electronic stuff on there it could be a new direction or something he added to his arsenal. Look out for the SNDClash ep Dont Drop the Flag. This is like a pop beat but the Electronic stuff is his it kind of hurt him when people said that was trash cause he loves it. Also he's "deep" on any beat he's on doesn't matter what beat it is got to check the lyrics.
I borrowed this album from a library, and expected the worst because of the fan reaction. Listened to it and decided to purchase it. Is it the best Lupe album? not really, but it's still a genuinely good album, with more than just a "few" good songs as naysayers say. The real reason people don't like it is because the production values scared them away.
*sigh* one of the downsides to being a Lupe fan. The fanbase is full of pretentious snobs.
@BIGBLUBLUR You're an idiot. The production doesn't scare me away, i just dislike a large portion of it, nor do i think Lupe's admiration for electronic music is a bad thing. His friend of the people mixtape was dope as were the tracks on there over stuff like nero. The terrible auto tuned hooks of people like MDMA are consistent throughout, and a bad hook can ruin the best of tracks/beats.
And to say i am a snob because of my opinion is pretty ignorant of you, music is subjective, you ass.

I borrowed this album from a library, and expected the worst because of the fan reaction. Listened to it and decided to purchase it. Is it the best Lupe album? not really, but it's still a genuinely good album, with more than just a "few" good songs as naysayers say. The real reason people don't like it is because the production values scared them away.
*sigh* one of the downsides to being a Lupe fan. The fanbase is full of pretentious snobs.

@BIGBLUBLUR You're an idiot. The production doesn't scare me away, i just dislike a large portion of it, nor do i think Lupe's admiration for electronic music is a bad thing. His friend of the people mixtape was dope as were the tracks on there over stuff like nero. The terrible auto tuned hooks of people like MDMA are consistent throughout, and a bad hook can ruin the best of tracks/beats.
And to say i am a snob because of my opinion is pretty ignorant of you, music is subjective, you ass.

@NatoriousGmc Thing is, the lyrics were on point through most of the album, sans maybe "I don't wanna care" (which I personally love, but I can see how people can hate it). If you're gonna dismiss the song as "ruined" because of the "terrible autotuned hooks" then yeah, I think it's a bit snobby.
Yes music's subjective, and everyone has an opinion on it. As such, I have my opinion on that opinion: that it itself is snobby. Heh, You don't have to agree with it, dude, it's how I see things.
