Not to be dramatic, really, but- if this really were a farewell song, if Tulio and Miguel really departed from each other and never met again, that would make the song yet more impacting... not to talk about the movie. I don´t think that so far there had been many animated movies with a sad ending (needless to be tragic), but it would show children that things not always end up well, unfortunately; and it may also help them appreciate values like friendship better.

@AlanMartinNala I quite agree, but when I look back, I think that movies like Disney or the road to el dorado are about giving hope to children, to make them believe that there is always an issue. Life can easily show by itself that things not always end up well, movies like that are moments of freedom in life. I mean, even now and back then, when I look at it, it gives me hope, maybe that's what it is about... :)

(Also, did you see Marina the mermaid ? REALLY dramatic and traumatic ending...)

I believe that animated movies with a sad ending should only be at the reach of well grown-up children, as long as they don´t abuse from such kind of endings... Probably there are more examples that now I cannot remember, but besides the gory "Felidae", there was a Spanish TV old series between the late 80s and early 90s which last chapter ALMOST had a sad ending... But probably it´s better not to say more about it so as not to ruin or spoil the ending...

This cartoon brings some interesting twists to this genre. It starts slow, but finishes fast with some clever plot twists...it is very interesting to see because it is not happening in others cartoons. My advice is to visit freecartoons and download this for free now!
