  • Sports are great in the sense that they're fun as hell. You're mind becomes lost in the game itself. The game becomes a reality for the time being. Sure, I realize this while playing baseball, but, it's still a lot of fun. After all, it is a game deep down.

  • Real Shit!

  • Maybe this clip is taken out of context but it presents a very narrow-minded viewpoint on sports. If you really believe that sports provide no benefit to this life then I feel sorry for you. You have failed to experience the good that comes from athletic competition. Have you never felt inspired watching the Olympic games? Political differences set aside while the world comes together to celebrate hard work and good sportsmanship? You could put a negative spin on anything. Your choice.

  • Notice how American news channels like FOX also treat their audiences like little children.... the sad fact is that many FOX viewers are actually intellectually stunted and the equivalent of adolescents.

Have never personally been able to understand the "being a fan" of a sporting team. Unless it's your country in the Olympics, or world cup, I can't comprehend what people get out of it?? The same over-paid footballers they WORSHIP wouldn't even give them the time of day in real life!

  • Ah i love the "you think you're a warrior for the weekend" lmfao it's so true. They think it's some sort of gladiatorial combat when it's nothing like it, not even remotely close. It has rules and an umpire and a bunch of wannabe's cheering/screaming like some sort of demented weirdo. All the while sucking down some sugar filled drink and eating hotdogs which if you read what a hotdog is, it's called "meat slurry" basically all the bits of the animal that ends up on the floor, its asshole's etc

  • Sooo on the ball sorta speak hahahhaha.

I soo hated soccer from whenever i can remember ist soooooo dumb and idiotic brainless shit.

Hahahah 22 guys running after a ball when you got it you gotta get it into a yaaaaaaay a goal.

    Its like fucking dogtraining lmao.

good boy go fetch the ball lmao here have a cookie.

as long as you meassure succes by money or power or status youll always be the loser no matter what you think u got.

  • Yer thinkin' too hard on it.

  • What's the point of even watching sports? If a team wins or loses, will it affect you. I don't even understand how people can become so obsessed with sports. They make billions of dollars off of people who are just slaves to a cultural fad

  • @AugerDP said: "What's the point of even watching sports? If a team wins or loses, will it affect you."

    EXACTLY.

It's so bizarre how you see people going crazy with happiness when their "fake tribe" wins, or going into like clinical depression when they lose, but there's absolutely no logical reason for such a response as it's entirely irrelevant to the viewer's actual life.

  • You could take everything this man said in regard to the word 'sports', and replace it with the word religion, which, btw - is far more dangerous than any sports that's ever existed. According to this fucking idiot, a child should rid themselves of anything sports and fun related - just because they have grown into an adult. What a narrow minded morbid idiot.

  • International sports help bring communities and nations together and does help moral. I do agree with Alan though, for the most part Sports keep us slaves entertained

  • I've never understood sports. Playing it can be fun and has benefits of health, but why bother to watch? So you can get together with your drinking buddies and comment on plays and players? What a waste. Some people are incapable of discussing something that isn't in front of their eyes.

  • come on its sports

  • @MilWayne21 defending your pacifier are ya? Grow up sucker. Did you not listen to one word of his speech?

  • Sports can be fun to play, but sitting and watching them is the ultimate lazy waste of time.

  • THANK YOU ALAN !!!!!!

  • I ALWAYS WONDERED WHAT THE POINT WAS WITH SPORTS>>>REALLY>!! IT's all nostalgia, you only like that team because your father, your city, your collage, or your friends like it...they are all hired by millionaires to play for their team...they are not even from that city or state they play for...very corporate. I don't know, maybe I'm just not American. I was born there but I don't feel connected to the sports.

  • No idea what Duke is talking about and everything in this video was senseless. Every single thing he said has a counter argument. It's entertainment and nothing more.

  • "Lighten up, Francis." Just 'cuz you couldn't catch/throw/run, etc...

  • distractions from the fact that ur a slave enslaved for what adam and eve did in eden.

  • Protocol 13...

  • Standing around watching sport is for dummies and sheep !

  • he's even trying to look like Alan Watts LOL!!!!

  • It doesn't matter who you listen to; Sports figures, politicians, pastors, actors, teachers, etc. No matter who you listen to THEY ARE TRYING TO INDOCTRINATE YOU TO THEIR BELIEFS. Even Alan Watt.

  • @GBev2K Thats true. that why you most learn to "swallow your tail" this means take the knowledge then turn and kill the knowledge bringer. This is how u avoid that trap.

  • I am ashamed of wasting my life watching these endless sports on tv. Now that I know It was planned, dropping it like a bad habit will be my new hobby.

  • @MrTopjimmy67 good for you

  • ''Everyone is being indoctrinated by science'' is an oxymoron

  • I've never understood the allure of sports. I understand participating in sports on a fundamental, active, involved, individual level but what I don't understand is the interest in sports as a form of mass entertainment. Living vicariously through athletes with a focus on something that doesn't matter in the least; fulfilling the base desires for tribal belonging and unnecessary competition for imaginary resources at the same time, all without ever leaving your couch - that's the way I see it.

  • Everybody has been manipulated by predictive programming.

  • He's saying that TV and sports are shown on Sundays to take from chutch

  • @lopytube you're probably just a paranoid fuck and you need to stop living under your rock. go outside. talk to people. get a good girl. live life. IF any of this "nwo" bullshit is true, just grab your gun and start shootin' bud. it'll be a lifetime before any of "their" plans come true.

  • Wow, does PrisonPlanet really need that obnoxious scrolling advertising along the bottom? How hypocritical of them.

  • It's called tradition people. Some of these franchises date back hundreds of years. Especially some college teams. Sports have been around for entertainment purposes for a long time; it's just now they're becoming controversial because of all the money involved. I love football and baseball and it's a shame to see thing such as the labor disputes ruin good sports over money. As for the crazy fans some of it might be borderline obsession. But if you root for the state you live in's team, or any

  • @popwarpunk yeah is all just fun.Lets go out & have fun, fun, fun, fun fun under the sun.Nevermind that boring stuff called history and predictive programing.Mind control, propaganda.Fuck that I just wanna have fun.I just wanna watch some questionable losses and victories.Oh forget that behind a EVERY GREAT FORTUNE theres a crime.Forget that the sports industry is a multi-BILLION(w/ a B)pool. If 1 looks up history concerning Roman empire how...sports where used 2 keep the....sheeple distracted

  • OH NO NOT SPORTS, TOO! IT'S ALL A SET UP, NWO MAN! ILLUMINATI! BLAH BLAH BLAH.. You people need to get a grip and just enjoy what you can while you still can.

  • Team sports and games are only for children really but they are also used to sort the sheep from the goats. When getting into university and getting onto the first rung of a career it helps to be good at team sports and those who played for their county get the best jobs. They say it's a mark of fitness but you can be fit without playing games. Funnily enough those who play team sports quit taking exercise earlier than those who don't and prefer cycling, boating and swimming.

  • Not to be confused with Allan WattS

  • Sigh.. the sports thing is true, but these guys always have to off the deep end and it ruins their own valid points that should be propagated to all Americans. So self-defeating and it's a shame.

  • this is how ive felt about sports my whole life

  • I gave up pro sports years ago... once I had children and became a full fledged adult...

  • the problem is people watching sports instead of playing them.

  • what is wrong with living in your most viril time in your mind for a short time and then you are back to the grind of life. I know what you are saying but i think if it is positive in your (my) mind then it is a moment of enjoyment and after all it is the moment we truely live (I to came to many revelations about llife thru LSD) what a long strange trip its been. Its the art of the sport not who wins or loses that is intriging. Peace,Love and Happiness a great Illusion!

  • I have only begun to watch Alan Watt. I have much experience w/ Alan Watts. I think there is much overlap (interesting, given their similar names) between their philosophies. A simple, short comparative description - Watt is more political/practical, Watts is more spiritual.

  • @dragomirSA ya but when you read its not downloaded into you can choose to believe it or not.It also improves your vocabulary and the way you speak.

  • There's some true things here, especially about professional sports, but good clean fun is not something you grow out of. Don't take yourself so seriously, it will help you stay awake if anything.

  • I've never really understood why people get so excited over sports or waht the big deal of them were.

  • @Germanboy567 Because they're fans! They want the team to win!

  • Sports are simply activities designed in aiding the conversion of beer into piss. Bill Maher reality checked me when he said something similar.

  • I'm a college athlete but I have to agree with him. I enjoy sports for the competition. It keeps the primitive side in me that i long to preserve. But I am disgusted how sports are capitalized like they are today and I hate the fact that people become so obsessed with them that it take over their lives. I love sports. I love to play them but i hardly enjoy watching them. I love sports but I'm not obsessed with them. Once I'm done being an athlete, I will move on with my life.

  • @grapplingignorance i didnt mean to say idiot but its ok to watch it once and awhile but some people thats all they talk aboutand do.Your watching someone else live out their dream, instead of trying to create yours.I just have a strong opinion about television.I play sports i just dont watch them all that much iam more an athlete then a intellectual.

  • but i do have respect for the competors they work really hard and are dedicaded.

  • love this video, man their was 100,000 people in downtown in my city vancouver for the canucks.Your time has better uses, watching sports all the time is for the idiots.I would rather read :D

  • @pjacob2010 And who the hell gave you the authority to decide how other people should should spend their time? Because you would rather read than watch or engage in athletics, it makes anyone who does enjoy it "idiots?" By your logic, anyone who doesn't like reading could say there are better uses for your time- but it's just that YOUR time. As long as you're not harming other people that time is yours to spend how you choose, and the same is true for them. They aren't idiots for enjoying games.

  • @pjacob2010 You can read a million lies it won't make you any smarter.

  • now i enjoy playing sports, not in excess, but not really watching it. ppl screaming at the tv is silly, ppl get obcessed.

  • Love this. I Hate hotheaded sports nerds.

  • Jealous? Of mindless beasts.lol.

  • How many of the Boston Red Sox are from Boston? None of them are really representing Boston as if they were ever raised there. They're just a bunch of overpaid people, most of which have developed certain narcissistic personality traits which actually make them bad for team play. There's really no loyalty. They'll play for whomever will pay them the most dollars. Isn't that the greatest show of poor sportsmanship?

  • @DukeStarbuckle I agree ,most athletes are narcissistic overpaid ,entitled, protected, snobs. It,s time people started to shun these qualities instead of glorifying them.

  • @MrTopjimmy67 What the hell are you talking about? A lot of athletes come from middle class or even poor families. They practice 6 to 8 hours a day because they're determined to be successful in their sport. Those are great qualities to have. And you can't just assume that anyone who is overpaid is narcissistic or snobbish. Looking down on people just for being wealthy is just inverted snobbery. Which is just as superficial and ridiculous as the other kind.

  • @DukeStarbuckle I've been thinking the same exact thing. Now I know I'm not the only one.

  • I've honestly never found the appeal in spectating a sporting event. I don't care for playing in sports either, but I think that's because people get way to competitive and it takes out the fun (for me at least).

  • Modern leisure activities, and sports in particular, are socially significant because they provide some of the relatively few opportunities for a ‘controlled de-controlling of emotional controls’ in contemporary societies (Elias and Dunning, 1986: 96).

  • Carl Sagan wrote a good bit on sports in his book Billions and Billions (Thoughts on life and death at the brink of the millennium).

  • I think most people who take issue with sports and athletes in general are: a) jealous, b) artsy fartsy, c) lost their woman or man to an athlete or d) all of the above.

  • @kinakem i agree, watts talk a good talk but he needs to strike a better balacne between exposing manipulation and just being downright cynical an negative.

  • So we don't think we can be fooled and manipulated? Well, I wonder just how many know that the World's Sporting industry is totally dominated by, Nike; Reebok; Puma; Adidas and Umbro which are ALL Owned by three Jews? They ALL have their clothing and shoes made in sweatshop conditions in China and cheap-labour countries, ship them back to "US;" for a small fortune! And WE BUY IT! They also own ALL the major designer labels! Read: wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com and see how far this deceit goes!

  • @einrib4truth and becos of corpos like these America is fucked, they take all the work and get it done on the cheap in china etc, leaving Us citizens shorts on jobs and home produced markets, yet still charging the same high prices.

  • How did I end up on here, I was looking for '100 Greatest Goals'. ;)

  • LOL this guy is great, I totally agree. Spectator sports is for idiots.

  • This is not Alan Watts, at least not the philosopher I was looking for.

  • @Dustinhogard no its Author, radio host Alan Watt

  • @Dustinhogard this Alan Watt is better...LOL

  • @Dustinhogard no. no new agers here

  • @Dustinhogard You are right, it's not Alan Watts, however the man is named Alan Watt. I was as confused as you are but there you go...

  • @Dustinhogard Watts and Watt. It's thrown me off too time to time.

  • theres been sports around since the beginning of time. long before TV. this is bullshit. sports keep us competitive and strong and fit. Nowadays TV and everything on it Is used to keep us sedate and brainwashed, sports have become part of this but they in their own right are not a bad thing.

  • @fugyoutoo You make an excellent point. People who are athletic will enjoy physical contest and will always like playing/watching sports be it at a local park pickup game or a game with very good athletes i.e. pros. They always have and they always will. The only catch is that "in their own right" is not how sports are delivered. They are over-commercialized packages and that is what I believe Mr. Watt takes issue with. And I absolutely agree on his analysis. "Pro sports" is a device.

  • Anybody hear that the NBA Basketball is canceled because of their lockout? They canceled the first two weeks of this season and they'll probably go into Xmas with this lockout.

  • 1:00 lol what a freak

  • Glen Kealey. The TRUTH about Alan Watts plagiarizing his material word for word.

  • One shouldn't outgrow sports and play... keep it vibrant and in your life... fun. Being too adult is always a problem...

  • description says your link leads to Alana WattS but then the link goes to Alan watt (no S) website. you ought to change your description in this video right on top of the link

  • @runtubefantasy thanks fixed

  • @runtubefantasy im sick of people bitching about free shit. Fuck alan watts this dude will actually tell you what you need to hear.

  • @joemoe23 free shit? o.O

  • @joemoe23 Why do you have to talk shit about Alan Watts? Based on the Tom Campbell video on your Youtube page, you seem to be someone who would love Alan Watts and his Philosophical Lectures. You can't even compare the two Alans, they're on two completely different Topics. I would say they are both Equally Important. Watt talks about the Government and how our Social Engineers psychologically control us and Watts talks about even deeper subjects, like the meaning of life, and the Big picture...

  • folks alan is talking about the use of sports entertainment as a religion.

a collective identity that people identify with.

99% of the mofos that view videos like these are not worthy to engage with the subject matter.

  • @passingpoor well said bro. what ppl post sometimes just shows how right alan is hahaha (not really that funny)

  • @passingpoor that is very true

  • SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS!

  • I like sports, myself!

  • Who here, from watching this video, isn't also a sports fan?

  • there would be absolutely nothing wrong with sports legitamately other than the fact athletes get paid so much.if this world wasnt so corrupt. if there was equality sports would still be around, and it would be in a much better situation

  • I don't completely agree, Sport is fun. Even If everyone was consciously united by oneness awareness I think sport would still be popular.

But I do think that people get far too carried away and they become very divided and predatory when they identify with their team too much.

  • @Obinome It's a massive destraction. I will say that at a grass roots level it is fine. But you can tell that it is more of a child and teen activity because you don't really see adults partaking in it outside of company hired men commonly reffered to as professional sports. It is natural but like everything they play on our instincts and hyperinflate a common activity like sports and now we aren't concerned with what is going on in our actual life or society.

  • I think he's reading too much into this sports thing.

  • Sport is war as entertainment. If we could sink our global military budgets into sport, then just maybe...?

  • Allan watt is a JEWISH Rat Idiot, deceiver jewish swine .

  • bread and circuses

  • Allan Watt is an amazing man...i dont 'get' the background music though. why is it setting up a scary, anticipating mood?

  • Removed a reply but you got the message "nigga"

  • hahah i think alan watts just hates fun gerrrrrrrrrrrr..jk but these r his OPINIONS,,,,not like there facts.

  • @urbanvibe209 yes but he happens to right

  • @urbanvibe209 yes but he happens to be right

  • @twazzercheese maybe, maybe not.

  • Fanatical plans are plots, as are conspiracies, with confederates & culprits whose actions are capricious. Of what does anything depend? Which door is not hinged on lynch pins? You can't gauge the reason, nor the genius, in things genuine as these curios are encased in the terror & evolvement of a fine-top salt grass that is a perennial drop-seed grass, with open panicles, that clumps densely.

  • our state is takes this to a new level.

  • I'm from Alabama - our state is the embodiment of this phenomena...

  • A good analysis I think. At best it is a diversion from the real important things going on the world.

  • That's it no more sport, I'm going back to my old ways of buffalo hunting and wench beating.

  • Mr Watts says that we all want to be a part of a group; I don't, and I never will. I am a free thinker who tries his best to find as much information as possible. Being a free thinker is a lonely road to take though.

  • @dave19711998 Agreed. However we're both cheating with this communication.

  • @dave19711998 You're in DEEP denial. EVERYONE wants to be part of a group. You're assuming being a part of a group is a negative thing and being a free thinker is positive, that both ideas cannot coexist but they can and do. Free thinkers also have to be bright, bright enough to understand that we are human and want to be accepted. By commenting alone, you became a part of this Youtube page. Independent thinking does not equate to a "lonely road". Stop thinking in black and white.

  • @votumseparatum1 That may have been true in the past but not now. I don't believe that I am in denial, as the need to be accepted has lessoned over the years. Being a free thinker or being part of a group isn't black or white, but a varying grey area. From my experiences of groups, a common consensus has to be dictated and anyone who differs from the rules will eventually be sidelined.

  • “Auto racing, bull fighting, and mountain climbing are the only real sports ... all others are games.” Ernest Hemingway

  • @MotorsportLegends Hey fuck you buddy because for you to say basketball isnt a real sport is saying im not getting paid to play bitch

  • @Jcamm92 You're getting paid to play a game, and fuck you

  • @MotorsportLegends Fuck you nigga dont start something you cant finish

  • Comment removed

  • All you people that spend your hard earned money on overpaid thugs putting a ball into a hoop are fools. Better think twice.

  • @Jcamm92 watch your mouth cracka.....

  • @MotorsportLegends "...Fuck Hemingway." - Faulkner. lol. just kidding.

  • havent we always had sports?

  • @HornetUK1 Sports were once a method to build strength, stamina, and group cohesion among current or potential members of a nation's army before battle. Now they're merely a substitute and a marketing exercise.

  • And today when a jock sets aside the multi-million dollar contract and goes to war for his country he gets shot in back of the head (Tillman)

  • Sports is not that important -

  • I agree with most of what he says, but he doesn't seem very happy and that is cause for pause.

  • Chompky said it well:

pro-sports provide a great way of building up : "irrational" attitudes of 'submission to authority'...

...and fosters group cohesion under leadership...( listen to your COACH!)

  • I never really had an interest in sports, not watching anyway, always seemed rather pointless to me.

  • @Goodfightlads Same

  • @Goodfightlads And why is that?

  • @kjchicago1 Taking part in sport is fine, i use to like playing football and still play a bit of badminton, but getting excited at watching extremely rich people kick a ball about a field for a made up team clad in corporate advertisements is not my idea fun, i've got a million other things i'd rather be doing.

  • Sports and tv are the opium of the masses

  • @JohnPurchaseArt art music and history is opium for the masses lol same thing right?

sport is math science poetry art in combined in physical form, when perfected it is beauty.

  • @messiiironaldo

A bunch of men running about on a field is trivial and unimportant in comparison to real issues. The banksters who are looting countries want you to be distracted by hotdogs and Michael Jordon.

  • @JohnPurchaseArt real issues, love family life oneself health, sport is a stimulation of mind body and soul, if politics effects you, your own life is less of importance, you control you own life and your own reality not bankers.

  • @messiiironaldo you're kidding right? bankers control the money of the world. you use money and thats what this system is based on. without it, you can't survive. and when they take it away what would you do then? wave a wand to have it magically appear in your life again? it doesn't work that way. we control our own reality to an extent. that's when you realize we're slaves.

  • @YourOasis97 you take away money you have no jobs, no jobs means banks have no control.

  • @messiiironaldo wait, what? no offense, but you don't seem to be making any sense to me.

  • @YourOasis97 I think you and messiiironaldo seem to on the right track, but you keep missing the point. Money is useless, only resources are of use. Money is a stack of paper, with faces on it. You can't eat it, build a computer out of it, nothing. Taking money away doesn't take away jobs, but in fact employs everyone. We would all be creating resources for each other. But taking away money does get rid of banks.

  • @detroithaspotential yeah well tell that to the bankers. i wish it didn't exist but unfortunately its the only means to live on these days. what i was trying to highlight is that this system depends on it and without money people can't survive unless you live in a tribe in the Amazon and know how to hunt, grow food, etc. I was highlighting how this system is flawed and we're dependent on it which is the whole point. We can't just take money away, cos it'd be devastating for all. we'd have to

  • @YourOasis97 Yeah, we should tell that to the bankers. We should all give them back this money and start doing business with each other. The venus project is an example of this, and banks want you to believe that you need them. All we have to do is stand together, and work with each other. Until then, we are slaves to ourselves.

  • @detroithaspotential change the system completely from the ground up in order to use resources like you said or trade.

  • @JohnPurchaseArt I think it's fun! I've been to a few Chicago Cubs games!

  • The last battle was for the mind , most people have been conqured already .

  • yeah, I used to watch the nba like crazy, and as time goes on, my mind has just kind of outgrew it, I'll watch, but I'm no longer "mesmerized" as I used to be

  • hate to say it but alan has some solid points in this video. Once sports was mixed in with the news in 1960s, it was game over.

  • @dayne201 do u say sports was over in 1960s when mixed with news because of the English Philosopher Alan WattS?

  • Darwin preached eugenics. His orthodoxy entails it, ingratiates it, and requires congregants to further its aims.

  • @IconsOfTeleplay the most rewarding thing about darwin is reading about his own personal doubts about evolution. He knew he was locked in to the theory and it was his life, but he himself saw that no physical proof existed, no missing links, funny how evolutionists forget or don't know that

  • @hollowmenrule : Negative eugenics was a family thing for the Darwins :

[INTERNET: In 1912, the First International Congress of Eugenics was held at the University of London. The president of the Congress was Major Leonard Darwin, son of Charles Darwin and one of the first English vice presidents was Sir Winston Churchill, later Prime Minister of England.]

  • @IconsOfTeleplay

There is no evidence Darwin shared Galton’s views on eugenics, and it would be contrary to what Darwin wrote in Voyage of the Beagle all the way through to Descent of Man, not to mention completely contrary to Darwin’s own actions through his entire life. Darwin himself insisted that social policy should not simply be guided by concepts of struggle and selection in nature. To state such indicates you're a creationist, because thats a straw man they regularly trot out.

  • @TheAccidentalMonk : "...We civilised men, on the other hand, do our utmost to check the process of elimination; we build asylums for the imbecile, the maimed, and the sick; we institute poor-laws; and our medical men exert their utmost skill to save the life of every one to the last moment...Thus the weak members of civilised societies propagate their kind... [Charles Darwin: "The Descent of Man," 1871 ed. vol. I, p. 168]

  • @TheAccidentalMonk :

[INTERNET: In 1912, the First International Congress of Eugenics was held at the University of London. The president of the Congress was Major Leonard Darwin, son of Charles Darwin and one of the first English vice presidents was Sir Winston Churchill, later Prime Minister of England.]

  • @IconsOfTeleplay

Since when is Leonard Darwin Charles Darwin? Just because various of his relations fell for the crock of crap that is eugenics, doesn't mean Charles did.

  • well cant take anything away from the very fit athletes. and sports help kids in lots of situations

  • @electronicchronic who cares when the world is enslaved. sports are for "kids" not retard dumb sheep business men to play "weekend warrior hero" "pro sports" do nothing but keep people eating applebee's and sediation on media at games. retards

  • @vikingluv7 werd up. u like nine and redman ;) NYC !

  • sports are good for exercise, teamwork, strategy, etc. - but an inordinate love of them - ie. having them take priority over God is wrong; sports is a starting point that can help teach boys and men to battle the real game of life - good vs evil
