This scene is after he gets off the island which means this is after his dad died, WHY DOES HE TALK LIKE HIS FATHER IS ALIVE!!! I'm so confused please help me!!!
@M4VERICK2022 OK... In this episode Jack is going crazy... he an alcoholic and on drugs.... he regrets all of his past... tried to commit suicide before this scene... so him saying that in his delusional state, is plausible..
Yes I am responding to myself... I actually meant to post the music comment for the last scene in season 3 and not this one. Just clearing that up, mainly for myself.

i think that it is a crime that matthew fox didnt get an emmy for his performance in season 3. i think he should have won it just based off of this scene
I have watched every lost episode many times and this scene is my favorite part out of the whole series so far. Brilliant acting and a brilliant scene
My absolute fav moment, however, is from 1.46 onwards - when the Doctor asks him how much he has had to drink and he just walks off with a walk of absolute incredulity at the situation. Even the simple act of swinging his arms as he walks away is so effective - showing you his disbelief at everything and his utter disregard for life also. I'm telling ya, the man is so underrated. Mad props to MF!!
I know. You ever watch those interviews ppl do with the actors(I think one of them's name is Kristen) They always seem to interview Michael Emerson. They never inerview the ones that matter the most like Matthew Fox. I don't mind the new man of faith Jack, I just hope he becomes more important to the show than making sandwiches and letting the island do what it wants
So true for both comments!! Everybody always sweated Michael Emerson and Terry 'O Quinn. Emerson was good, but overrated imo. and Quinn was amazing in dual roles but I hated the MIB character, despite Quinns strong portrayal.... Anyhoo, to get to the point- Foxy deserved SO MUCH more credit for his phenomenal acting. He did an amazing-ass job for 6 seasons. That was the true constant.
The man is a wonderful actor. Truly underrated. He's got so many subtleties. The bit where he goes "great" at 0.45! How brilliant is that! The combination of him trying to sound happy that the woman is ok whilst at the same time trying NOT to sound drunk. LOL. MF is a gem!
The whole "Do you know anything about me" dialogue is also wonderful. Just the right amount of despair, laced with his intoxiation.
theres no way he's alive.. even lost couldn't pull that off.haha. i think it was a clever scheme by the writers to add onto jack's mental state and mislead and shock the viewers once we find out at the end that it is a flashforward and not a flashback
wow first comment....i think christian shepored is alive! why?....i think jack is in a alternate reality some how they have done somthing on the island that has changed the history of OUR world and thats why things are differnt they OR (desmond)changed the space time contuium the timeline as they knew it is "alterd".......i think lol

it's amazing scene, especially at 1.39. matthew fox is magic in this episode !!

Matthew Fox was absolutely brilliant in this episode. He completely sold that it was all a flashback until the very end.

To see someone as strong as Jack fall is indeed depressing.
XvxBERSERKxvX 1 year ago
Is Jack depressed because of issues with his dad or because they left everyone else behind on the island?

L O S T have a lot of great actors, so it's hard to choose favorites because they are all so wonderful in their own ways.

this acting is so deep, shame he (jack) isnt used more on lost - for these serious / painful scene's!

The music in this scene is also all time great. Michael G. is a true master at his craft. Love him on Fringe too!

Personally I think that Ben will allow Jack to go back in time and work things out with his dad so he wont die.
Redraptorxx 3 years ago
nope, he can't change things. whatever happened, happened.

Jack´s father is not alive.. he can´t "let things go", he can´t accept that he don`t control everything..

u must be a jack hater, because what u said is bull. jack is not a control freak, the losties asked jack to be leader remember.
lopido 2 years ago
they elected him as leader. re watch season 1
tommylogik2 2 years ago 2
It's obvious he is a control freak. Watch the episode "Something nice back home". That's a central theme of that episode.
