Everett Fulton, my grandfather, adored music to his last day. I loved the way his house was always filled with music. There is nothing like it in the world. Miss you Poppop, and may you fly safely.
Dad will be buried at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. Deeply loved by many, he will be greatly missed by all. Love you Sweet Daddy!
I just wanted to let everyone know that my father, Everett Fulton, the luthier in this video, passed away this morning. He was 94 years old and was working on making another guitar up until a month before he died. Thanks to everyone that posted comments and came to see Dad over the years. He was truly a remarkable man and greatly enjoyed the friends and fellowship his guitar making brought him. His passion for music and his country sustained him throughout his life.

I have been playing the ukulele on and off for about 30 years, and just learned about tenor guitars. I hope it's not too late to have found this man, as it would be an honor and privilege to own and play one of his instruments. For a man to be able to make a beautiful instrument out of wood often used for charcoal...just takes my breath away.
Just an update: This is my father and he is now 92 y/o. He still enjoys working in his shop and still makes a few guitars. He didn't know he was on YouTube (or even what YouTube was), but he has been very moved by all your comments. Thank you for your words of appreciation.
I've seen Mesquite many times shaped into the form of huge Spanish style Hacienda furniture. Also, huge church doors, and of course for B.B.Q. I've smoked with it myself.
But I've never heard it called
"Texas Rosewood". Thats great, and here I thought only Brazilian and Indian were the only kind of Rosewood there was.
This is my great-uncle Everett - my grandma and he were siblings. He called me tonight out of the blue to talk about family. What a wonderful, fascinating, loving man... a true Texas gentleman. I am going to try to visit him this summer per his request. I only wish I could play a musical instrument! My heart certainly appreciates his contribution to the good in this world, via music and family.
Oh wow, I was wondering where he got his wood at first, seeing him chop his own wood and everything... This man has more talent than I have seen with most popular guitar makers. How many guitar makers do you see cutting their wood straight from the stump
GOD BLESS YOU MR.FULTON...How can I buy a custom guitar??? Please contact my Icon...I'd rather buy a handmade guitar from Mr.FULTON than have a Martin... Thanks
Wow Brett, your pop pop is really an inspiring man. His ideals for 'necessity being the mother of invention' reminds me so much of the truths my parents drilled into me as a child and that I still hold to this day. I wish I could have met him now.
That actually made me think, "What am I doing sitting here on the computer". but If I wasn't on the computer, I wouldn't have heard of him in the first place =/ so, it works both ways. <3 Music is my life though. :]
Well done. You stole my TX Country idea I already uploaded. Different Luthier though. :) I once interned with you folks at TX Country. Hope this isn't a reflection of what I learned, but rather something I put together for fun.
Super video. I relate to Everett being a pilot and musician as well. I truly appreciate his abilities. We are lucky to still have people like him around. Not only to produce such fine instruments, but to remember what it took to get to where we are in this country today.
