Bea Arthur was hilarious, Golden Girls was the type of show that everyone watched, from 18 year old teens to 75 year old grandmothers, men, women, boys, and girls, and no one was ashamed of it.
After watching all three of the ET segments on the deaths of the Golden Girls...I thank God every day that Betty White was given to us, and allowed to stay with us so long. She appears every so often on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, sometimes in interviews-or skits, like the one where she said she was going to be President LMAO RIP Bea, Estelle and Rue.
Nothing against the other 'girls,' but this death was the one that I felt the most. I only know BA from "Maude," and the "Golden Girls," but I sure miss her!
When i watch Golden Girls, its like they're not even dead well Bettys still alive but the others aren't, I mean I'm 16 and i watch it. RIP Bea. We still miss you
She was my inspiration in the 70s. I was a very tall teenaged girl (5'11"), with a very deep voice. Watching her, I had a role model of a smart, sexy, feminine woman who was tall and had a deep voice. What a revelation to realize it was okay to be different from the little cookie-cutter, perky, midget girls running around with their high, squeaky voices. It was in this era that I started wearing heels as high as I could find them, too! RIP, Lady Bea. You'll always mean a lot to me.
You may be gone. But, You still live on Screen and in our Hearts. Thanks for all of the Laughs. Even in the worst of times. You still made me Laugh:) R.I.P
I discovered those 4 wonderful ladies (Estelle Getty, Rue Mcclanahan, Betty white, Bea Arthur) When I was 11 and I absolutely fell in love with them and their show. There will NEVER be anybody quite like them in my lifetime. T.V will never be the same without them. I know I wont be. I hope Betty lives a long and fulfilling life, and I hope she goes peacefully :)
As much as I love Betty White to death and think she's absolutely fantastic, Bea would've been a much better fit on Hot in Cleveland than her. She had a much sharper tongue and would've fit that Sophia type role a lot more than Betty.
i try to watch a rerun or two of the golden girls everyday...tv hasnt been the same since the show and never will be, i know all the lines by heart it seems like, and i still belly laugh all the time, dorothy was far and away my favorite character, BEA RULED!
when she died, I felt like part of my family died, I grew up with Bea on Golden Girls in the 80's LOVE YOU BEA, thank you for being a friend, and making the whole world laugh. :) RIP
Bea Arthur is a fabolous actress! Her Deep voice is unique and still is missed even a year later! I love ya Bea. Also Rest in Peace Estelle and Rue; you will be terribly missed too :(
Hi Bea fans, does anyone on here have any video footage of Bea & Angela performing from Mame? I'm looking for anything on Mame with Bea & Angela singing. The Tony Awards too! Please send me an email. Thanks.
@TubeBoy02 I'm probably 8 months too late, but there's a clip here on YouTube of Bea and Angela performing "Bosom Buddies" at the Tony awards. Just type in "Angela & Bea - Bosom Buddies" and it should get you right there." Good luck.
What is this nonsense? It's completley unwatchable. Just clips stuck together, five second sound bytes from everybody except Bea Arthur. A proper tribute would be nice. Is it too much to ask to interview someone for say five or ten minutes about Bea Arthur? The presenters make me sick, it's too slick and reeks of a news show as opposed to a proper tribute show put together. Sorry Bea for this awful nonsense tribute.
she was incredible...and still is incredible...there has yet to be an actress that could fill these shoes and i'm sure there will never ever be another one like bea arthur...may you rest in peace Bea....God bless you :) xo
ET just did not do justice to her theatrical successes. From the early acclaim as Lucy Brown in Three penny Opera to the original Matchmaker in Fiddler on the Roof to her Tony winning Vera charles and her final Tony nominated performance in her one woman show, Bea Arthur was great on the stage long before and after her tv series.
They rarely do anything justice, always cutting each story so they can play pieces of it throughout the show intead of doing one story at a time. Its unwatchable to anyone who doesnt have ADD
She was an absolute goddess, gorgeous, talented and full of grace, a true star. Even more beautiful because she appreciated all the opportunities she was given and made the most of them. She was marvelous, god I could just watch her every day and I usually do.: )
Rest in peace bea u will never be forgotten

The Golden Girls was a show that was way ahead of its years. The writing and acting was 2nd to none and we will miss the three fallen stars.
