@Thejimmyshow99 I dont think so, Think of the girl as the one singing, Halley's comet is a reoccurring comet passing earth every 75ish years, i think what the lyrics are saying is she was outside thinking about life and stuff looking up at the stars and saw a shooting star, the arc of light catches her attention like someone waving and gives her a wake up call....or something like that, if we use the music video to interpret the lyric's meaning.

@shub16 she's just following her dreams and the only way to get through to her parents was to break free and try things out for herself. They were holding her back, not willing to try to comprehend what she wanted- it doesn't mean she didn't stay in contact with them, it just means change and maybe her parents finally hearing her/seeing her for the first time.

@mury2 where does it say she's in her early twenties? This is called a music video geniuses. Someone had a chance to get creative and put together something to go with the music. The song itself is not about some girl going and taking dance classes... it's about taking chances, following your beliefs and that sometimes, even after you've messed up, things will turn out okay. So if you really want to complain like a pouty five-year-old that should also be sent to their room- do it elsewhere.

I love Shinedown. They have such versatility as a band. They can do heavier songs like Devour wonderfully, but then they can do songs like The Crow and the Butterfly.
