I work by Regents Park and every lunch time I feed the squirrels... they're so brassy that they're climbing up my trouser leg before I even get the nuts out of my pocket! And if I'm not quick enough they climb onto me chest and stare me out! :o)

I know they're an invasive species but they are amazing little animals. I love watching them in the morning, especially the athleticism and intelligence the display getting to the bird feed!!

Ha Ha!! Great idea. I had seen several videos of people "Squirrel Fishing". They used fishing rods with nuts tied to the end off of high decks or balconys. It looked like a lot of fun, plus your neighbors will love you. We had very tame squirrels at our first little cottage and we were upset to leave them. Our landlady fed them, so they were not neglected. : )

i like feeding them almonds, they really love them and are easy to feed with your fingertips. the squirrels i've fed, were in parks so they prolly used to being fed. they are so cute, i love squirrels, id like to have one as a pet.

heyy, i'm in the process of taming a squirrel in under a week, he started coming into my garden so i used to leave peanuts out... if i didnt leave some out he would come up onto the patio so i started putting them on the patio so just today i got him to come up and he wouldnt take it out my had but i put the nut down and put my hand by it after 2 or 3 trys at this he came and took it out my hand and has been all day ^^

yeahh. there are two of them... i leave a bowl of monkey nuts in the kitchen now with the window open, they come in and keep taking them while i'm in the kitchen. i've started just putting the nut on my hand... it seemed to work with one of them, he took it ^^

Thats great. sometimes it takes a little bit more patience but the rewards are greater than the wait. Seeing them close up and making eye contact was awesome for me. It's strange but they wink at you when they know you.

I've got a friend of mine who goes to college near where I live, says that everday there are people there feeding the squirrels. He finds atleast one squirrel following him to class, but as soon as he enters, the squirrel either sits out the door way or it runs back to the trees lol. I want to domesticate one, or atleast to have it out in the wild and to interact with it. Guess I should start havin some places in my yard.
