oh i thought you were gonna show FF4 in 8bit remade and 16bit original, comparing the two. theres a 8bit chinese remake of FF7 just in case you didnt know. i found this video by searching for 8bit remakes of FF4 songs.
@Celtalian I know about the 8-bit FF7, I can't believe I haven't tried it yet. But no, this video was made for a particular context in a review I did which can explain its existence as it is. I would have to absolutely agree that I'd be as confused as you were by its title though just by finding it on YouTube.
@thesavior1396 What? You made it and you don't know what he is? That guy is the 8-bit representation of what a stylized "Black mage" could look like according to the makers of the game. And Final Fantasy IX was inspired by this design for their 3D black mages (except no blue dress) and one of the main characters named Vivi.
You can directly compare graphics with bits of the CPU. It doesn't make sense. This is like saying the PS2 was more powerful than the Xbox because it was 128Bit and the Xbox was 32Bit
Now that be a unique movie :) I mean it has an okay plot but it would help bring the genre into the movie world with a plot thats easier to relate to. The whole flying J warrior is awesome but a simple westernized fantasy with a unique world and enjoyable story would be amazing. Of course it would require changes so it would go wrong in the end no doubt as directors get carried away and love fucking with our art. Oh well we have advent children :)
@jet874 That's a very cool sounding name, it was my favorite character when I played the game. I think we're not about to see a character named Bobby like me in a Final Fantasy game, maybe Robert, but that's not quite the same for me.
That's right and that's why 16-bit has a huge advantage. It's still amazing however how they can sometimes produce great 8-bit music when they put the effort into it.

Thanks for this. I really get annoyed when someone calls a 16-bit game 8-bit. It's just like saying that the PS3 has the same graphics as the PSX.

It's quite fun to see how far graphics and translations have come in 20+ years.

8 bit music use sqaure waves while 16 bit music use FM/Wavetable Synthesis for audio production.

Yeah, even though it might seem simple at first, it takes some effort, and I'm not really used to editing yet. Anyway, thanks!
