KRS-ONE has been a pioneer ever since the beginning...he sometimes meanders into absurdity and self-aggrandizement a la his 'hip hop religion' and 9/11 comments etc...but the fact remains he is and always will be one of the founding fathers of socially-conscious hip hop. It's truly sad to see the state of hip hop today where the corporations dictate what is acceptable and the music is nothing but a hollow shell, devoid of meaning, talent, or thought.
