  • I saw 'Deep Blue Sea' (2011) last night, a bit tedious, but as the credits rolled and this song came on I started singing! It took some powerful brain activity to recall how I knew this song, but at last it came to me. When I was about 10, my dad was teaching me the 'slow fox' this was one of his dance tunes. He sang out of tune, but the song stuck. Im still singing it this morning, and its such a joy to hear it again, and the memories. Thanks

  • Love it !

    Thanks for posting

  • He had a smooth as silk voice...Thank you so much for posting....

  • Any man would be stupid enough to leave his wife for liz Taylor

  • I have the vinyl 78rpm of this great song and also have it on a couple of greatest hits albums. The flip side of the single was "Even Now" another great song that I can't find anywhere on YouTube. Does anyone here have it for download? Incidentally, the chart hit "Even Now" by Barry Manilow is a different song.

  • Eddie Fisher was one of the best and most popular male singers of the 1950s.

    Many Thanks........Mike

  • Just imagine what singing this voice could have done if he hadn't been sidetracked by Liz Taylor.....

  • why comment on greatness!

  • big hit for him--sings it effortlessly as usual

  • Brilhante!!!

  • Eddie's was the third hit version on this one, and the best. Eddy Arnold, the famed Tennessee Plow Boy also had a very fine recording of this. The first version was by Emmett Miller in 1921 and sounds very different. It is elsewhere on youtube with extra lyrics and very interesting. Miller was an old blackface comedian and singer, and a big influence on the great Hank Williams.

  • @CarlDuke Thanks for the additional info on this song.

  • From a darkened room 70's in Vegas, this grand voice filled the Riviera Showroom with "Anytime" as the opener in middle of audience in a tux...a stunning opener with spot lighting up legendary Eddie Fisher and we were under his spell and never forgot it...a great singer whose career should have continued and in the seventies he was still awesome and what a voice!!!

  • @bradly2007 Wonderful comment. Eddie was simply the best singer who ever lived. No one combined sweetness of tone, an emotional wallop , great range and a powerful voice into a superb package quite the way Eddie did.

  • beautiful voice silenced forever. Rest in peace Eddie

  • Real music.

    R.I.P.

  • Always liked this one by Eddie Fisher. For a few years in the 1950s Eddie Fisher

and Perry Como were the favorite male vocalist and Joni James was the

    favorite female.

I always watched Eddie and Perry's tv show. Joni was offered a tv show but

turned the offer down she prefered to be on the road singing for audiences

    all over the world.

  • @Fegen Since you like both Eddie and Perry, there is a great video on youtube you should like of a duet of the two singing Maybe on Perry's old show. It is under the title Perry Como with Eddie Fisher - 1956. Happy listening and viewing.

  • Thank you for posting this video, I still think Eddie Fisher has a lovely voice. It's a pleasure to listen to him.

  • great one john. thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
