@trueblue151 No it's an original M1 rifle I purchased through CMP. It was manufactured in April, 1943 by Springfield Armory. Records show it was sent was in Europe during WW2 and was part of 20,000 rifles sent to the Danish army in 1950 until returned to the US about 10 years ago. I've had it for 5 years. I also owned a replica but sold it.
It is very disheartening to realize that the new President is going to push for banning assault rifles, as well as making ammo extremely expensive. I have heard rumor (via the NRA) that he wants to slap a %500 tax on ammo and firearms sales. I'm sick of the man and he's not even in there yet. I have to stock up ammo for my Garand soon, in fear that I won't find much of it later...
Well they're not actual assault rifles to begin with, thats what the left likes to call them. And hopefully, Barry will be too busy with other things to fuck with it anyway
@rentacop31 Im sick of the left and anti gun people... They have most likley never held a gun in there life, never needed one, or don't know much about crime and guns. Criminals buy guns illegally, good people buy them legally. Some politician decides to take the guns away that he knows nothing about, now you have criminals with guns, an civilians un armed. Then the crime rate sky rockets. Shit, if I was president 2nd amendment rights would be my number 1 concern...
@rentacop31 And I would encorperate the "Make My Day" law everywhere I could. Its a law only here in Colorado, but I hope it'll spread. The law allows a civilian to use deadly means (Weather that means cutting there head off or shooting them doesnt matter) to get rid of people on there property who are threatening there saftey. So if sombody breaks into your house, you can kill them legally. In California (Where Im from) if you so much as LAY a hand on an invader you go to jail...
@bubba85715 Once were done with war you should see your ammo prices start going back to normal, right now the ammo manufacturers are focused on getting ammo to the troops. So that means ammo for civilians is scarce and more expensive. As for banning assault rifles, that will be hard to do because the people would fight somthing like that very hard.
I do it without thinking, which is a tribute to the design genius of Mr. Garand. I've seen videos where the participants don't even know they are aiming at each other. All weapons should be treated as if they are fully loaded ready to fire.
Ctrot, do you find you can get a good cheekweld with the scope in your clip? I am thinking of getting the 1.5X4@20mm Leupold with the illuminated reticle with a Talley base qd rings

Local gun shows tend to carry them. You can also aquire one from the CMP, but that is a longer process. It is cheaper however...

No I didn't get a good cheekweld, too high, I've returned to iron sights for Bear/ coyote and I will rework the sight 1.75 X 4 at a later time.
