  • Did you get the insurance companies to sponsor you? This video is older, but looking forward to seeing where you are now in 2011 - 2012. I'll do some of the stair climbs in Asia as I can make them, seems like something I'm built for. Do you ever make it to Thailand Tim? Are you still climbing stairs?

  • I think the best technique for me would be two steps at a time and pulling yourself up on the hand rail the whole way. Power test reveal me at about the 300 watt mark so I should climb at a mile an hour or so as I'm 72kg

  • @calico992 Look at a picture of Aajonus Vonderplanitz. He has a very thick neck and NEVER exercises. He eats a lot of raw meat. He even eats putrefied meat from time to time. Mac Danzig said he won "12 straight fights after becoming vegan." However, he was not a vegan before that! What you need to know is that for the short term one can get by without animal products. Vegans eventually crash. Most of the testimonies are from young people who haven't been vegan for years. Others cheat.

    There is a strange fixation on a look that someone should have as a gage of health or fitness. This has nothing to do with performance or health, especially in the long run. We are biased at times to what a normal look is. Performance, function and well being are better gages of a healthy body.

    And the tests to which I referred are performed by doctors, yes, before someone says something stupid.

Secondly, there have been a lot of veggie and vegan athletes succeeding at a very high level, including when Carl Lewis won most of his gold medals, and when Bill Pearl won Mister Universe at 41.  Also RObert Parrish, Dave Scott, Tony Gonzales.

  • Congratulations on the race but you understand this isn't a viable diet for all athletes right?!? or even for a lot of every day people.. you're incredibly skinny but thats somewhat expected from a runner.. chances are your body fat is unnaturally low so your organs etc.. don't have the greatest cushioning. I play lacrosse in college and If I ate the way you do it would be likely that I would die. I'm trying to avoid dogging on you so i'll leave it at that.

  • @blebby Clearly runners start 5-10 sec apart; however, when this vid guy reached the top he assumed that the runner who had passed him and finished first was the winner. This was impossible to know at this stage because we don't know where he started in relation to the other runners. This can only be ascertained after everyone has completed the course. For example, a guy who finishes 10th could be the fastest if he started 3min after the guy who reached the top first.

  • I'm impressed with his skin elasticity. The best indicator of what's going on inside the body is how healthy the skin is. He has very few fine lines and no deep lines..that is amazing for his age! However, he never comments on his bodyfat levels..I would be interested in that..he claims he's 15lbs overweight-muscle weight for his height. I'd like to see his abs :-P

  • Outrageous! I love it! So what was your time? I am so curious! Wen I started raw - after six years I tried doing some stadium stairs since the track was covered w ice. Long story short- increased my endurance 300% compared to when I ate cooked food and trained 25 years prior! Cleaning out my blood vessels raw veagn was 60 times more productive than THR cardio training (everything else equal). Climb on!!!!!!!!

    There is nothing in meat that isn't found in plants, just FYI. Meat contains a few heathy micronutrients, but this takes up about .01 percent of meat. 99 percent of meat is saturated, poor quality protein and other macronutrients.

  • By the way Lopinute...having "endurance" is very variant thing, depending on hwat type of endurance one is talking about. Running only trains endurance for the particular muscle groups and oxygen needs of those muscles. When running , your skeleton is doing much of the work...with leg muscle just propelling you forward...then momentum takes over to a degree. Many runners who can run 30 miles or more at a shot...can't jump rope for 5-10 minutes straight or kick and punch a heavy bag for 2 mins.>

Jumping rope will improve ones ability for running but running will not enhance one ability to jump rope.

  • This guy never looks healthy to me. Whterh in a lecture setting or on an athletic event video..he always looks drawn and hollow in the face and his eyes are sunken into his skull. His body also looks over-trained and/or undernourished. People can often see a lot of ones health from the skin tones,eyes,face,body of an individual...he doesn't look very healthy. (don't talk of it being the Sears tower raced that drained his looks>he looked unhealthy before he ran the stairs here & in lecture vids.

  • I think for 41, he looks fantastic. Skin is tight. Energy level is high. He's thin. But I don't agree that he looks unhealthy. I think just the opposite.

  • Fact remains he ate the Standard American Diet for years and became VERY sick .

    He switched to a 100 percent Raw Vegan diet and he healed his body, and is now INCREDIBLY healthy and vigorous.

    He died at 32.

  • Lee was not killed. He died from abusing of his own body...and in the end his wife said he was existing miserably on carrot juice which is all that he could keep down in his stomach. He was too low on body fat (like your boy here..look at his face in the vid above)...and he was overtrained and was as a result of that and other facotrs, in a state of adrenal crisis. No one killed Lee.....except Lee.

  • No offense to the guy that said the CN tower is the tallest but the CN tower is not an actuall building its a tower and the observation deck is at like 1,100 feet where as on the Sears Tower its at around 1,400 feet. The overall height of the CN tower is taller overall though.

  • I found this video 7 weeks ago and noticed the date is significant to me: near that same day last year, I had a fool suggest my vegan diet is causing my leg problems. This got me to get my legs in better shape.

    The date of this run(and noticing it) seems like a message from the heavens: I'm on the right path - as other natural eaters are - and the destination is bigger than we can imagine.
