"I am not my own" refers to the fact that our body is a dwelling of the Holy Spirit. "I have been made new" refers to being born again with a new heart and new desires. In John 10:27, Christ said "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." An unbeliever would not recognize it.
