@left4deadfreakable That's how I felt against the first boss on Final Fantasy VII, but here's the kicker. While I had trouble beating it, my brother sat there and beat it no problem.
anyone know if this boss was inspired by Lord Ombra or did that come out after this? Just look at the similarities, and it can't be ironic this boss is in the Peter pan stage
such a unique battle. the only thing that kept me from winning was that fucking clock. it kept running out of time, then i was fucked. kh3 better have more secret boss battles. Kh2 had better gameplay, but only sephiroth was a secret boss. -_-
@shazzaforeverthabest agreed except is till think KH1 had better combat than KH2... in KH2 you had endless combos and with the right abilities you could slide like 15 feet on the ground or in the air and just combo lock an enemy and they just stood there and took it but in KH1 they dodged and parried
I think this is one of those things that appear in some games that if you can't work it out, and don't have the know-how, then you are screwed. It's all very well to button-bash in this game, but it won't get you far in this battle.

@Liam44471 First you must cast stop on big ben to avoid the doom ability that kills you when the clock strikes twelve. then you must attack the small sphere under his robe, or use magic.
red:fire
blue: ice
yellow: thunder
every once in a while, cast stop on big ben to keep the progressing of doom.
Before the battle, equip your party with ethers and/or elixirs to keep up your MP.
the last thing i expected was to be tricked by a fairy into fighting a giant, flying, ghost heartless that i couldn't beat....i should have known it was a trap...
At first I was like: oshit I can't beat this guy D:
Then I realized I could just stop the clock and keep my party members from dying. They're good for giving me back my MP and HP, since this battle is MP consuming. I just waited until the heart was white then attacked like mad. I never once thought about why the heart changes color. Then I read the guide and tried it their way; casting fire when it was red, etc. but all that did was drain my MP. Hooray for alternate strategies?
This battle is in my opinion.... the hardest. This battle usually takes me more than 10 minutes. And also, is there a place where you can buy so many Megalixirs?
this was pretty easy compared to sephiroth and kurt zisa. u just have to pace it and keep mega ethers if u actually need them. just keep at least one mp rage, two would really help, but if u have any with second chance, u can just let him hit u to get back mp. and goofy is usually better to have than donald cause he has mp gift. whenever he sends that spell that surronds u and keeps hurting u, just run behind a different side of the clocktower to get away from it
Everyone in the comments who is trying to act like they're really good by saying it's easy should shut up because this boss is hard even if you are really good
compared to kurt zisa, i found this battle really easy. where kurt zisa was ruthless with the physical attacks, and not being able to use cure for half the battle was horrible. phantom is a war of attrition and one of the few times that i had to ration my items, but as long as you keep a steady pace, it's a pretty easy battle.
tip for ppl who DONT have the keyblade used in this video: if u dont have this keyblade, use oathkeeper, not oblivion. cuz it increases ur mp, and thats something ur gonna need for this fight.
the only thing that really sucks about this boss, is that i cant get the last 3 dalmations cuz the boss is in the way.... im playing on normal and im lvl 65, and i cant beat him -_-
lol, I'm level 68, took me about 15 minutes to beat him down to one HP. Since half an hour he still has one HP left and resists all of my attacks and refuses to die (with his one pixel health left).
I'm almost at level 80 and I still can't beat this boss. Maybe I'm just too slow, but I agree that keeping the clock stoped and trying to keep goofy and pan alive are a very difficult.
I fought it at lvl 45ish or close, on expert. Best keyblade i had was Metal chocobo i think, couldn't use it for this battle naturally. Chasing the Phantom around bored me, and my MP was 4 or 5, and mostly unupgraded (no firas or such) so had to conserve. I just let Pan or Donald abuse him, while i kept Sora two clock-faces away at most times, managed the clock and sprang into the battle as needed or to get hit for some mana. I was stingy with potions, used 1-2. It took me 10 boring mins.
My final strategy for beating Phantom involved sacrificing Peter Pan so that I THE KEYBLADE MASTER could live! I was also using Tinker Bell so she was makin a scene, all mourning and stuff like that
(hey I didnt have elixers for everybody so someone had to go)
It was a hard battle but I was able to beat him on level 53 on expert. I used lady luck, any items, took out all of Goofy's and Peters abilities that used up MP, that way goofy would give his mp to me and not peter. Gave everyone tons of megaelexirs, and I would cast stop on the clock whenever the phantom fired that purple attack. When you are at a high enough level I suppose you can do without allies but when you're in the low 50s you need the support. Good video.
the walkthroughs on the internet make it sound like this boss is hard as but its not at all :L
i was level 88 using ultima.
just constantly cast stopra on the clock, dont wait for it to countdown, and when it retreats towards the clock hands, to use its heat seeking worm, retreat so that the tower is in between you and Phantom.
I'm in my last night on a holiday to London... and when I first went to Big Ben I couldn't help but look up there and think, "Oh gawd, is he up there?"
Damn I'm lame... ^_^
But having been to Big Ben, I can really appreciate how well they made it in this game. They even have the other tower on the Houses of Parliament there and correctly configured!
Also, yes this boss was tricky, and required patience... but i beat him in the end!
do the easiest tornaments in coliseum, try hercules cup or hades cup, but start from the 10th seed cuz u´ll be closer from rock titan( it´s easy and give u A LOT of experince)
@40088922 i just like too go the a spot in some worlds, like the end of the world, from the beginning, then fight to the core area(where there are all the beams of light, and you "travel" to the world, and fight heartless...i fight to that area, then get on the gummi ship, and go back too that spot, and occasionally go too other worlds and do the same thing... it works pretty well
I JUST beat this guy at Level 69, with Lionheart. I dunno what I did, maybe it was the fact I constantly kept an eye on the clocktower, or that I had 2 MP Rage's equipped? Or maybeh it was luck? Or it was probably the fact that I'm on Normal mode. xD But seriously, it only took me one try, and I consider this guy the easiest of all the optinal bosses. Kurt Zisa KILLED me inside. D: And Sephiroth I just beat last night.
Good job, but the only complaint I have is that you did a piss-poor job on clock management. That should really be your first priority since its the only thing that makes this boss hard. But what do I know, I haven't beaten him, but haven't tried in like 3 years. You've inspired me to give it another shot.
Contrary to popular belief, stopping the clock every 10 seconds is not THAT important if you know what you're doing. It's good for keeping your allies alive, but I usually manage to beat the Phantom without them. But thank you anyway.
I'm not necessarily worried about my party members, I'm worried about myself since I would probably play this more defensively. The only real reason to keep you party members alive is Goofy's MP Gift and letting them give you ethers and other items you put on them.
Alot of the Heartless bosses get pretty easy after awhile compared to the bigger villains, but this guy and Kurt Zisa are an exception. It took me soooooo many tries to beat them. Thank heavens they aren't required to beat. Alot of gamers would be really frustrated if that was the case.
i saw this boss and got so pissed off i jumped the clock tower and was like RAGNOROK on his ass then he did doom clock i had no idea what was happening and it was just like failure
The first time you fight him, he's impossible because he doesn't take much hits and he is the ONLY boss in the game that ELIMINATES your party members as well as you--regardless of health.
Once you know to use Stop magic on the clock and know about his Color code, he's easy.
OF COURSE IT ALSO HELPS TO PUT YOUR USEFUL MAGIC IN THE QUICK SHORTCUTS FOR EASY ACCESS.
Though really, without his Doom-Clock, he's weak sauce. I mean, his attacks barely do any damage, and can be easily healed.
how do i kill this thing when it noticed that it took donalds heart again i was like wtf+ im only lv57 and i dont have that sort of keyblade im using oblivion at the mo on me lol
lol this is what happened to me, peter pan dies, goofy dies, and im the only one left and i have no more mp based items, and my heart is just pounding, so i just start using taunts at him like "c'mere ya dumb ghost, didja know i screwd your mum last night?" and just called him swear names lol.. so i just let him hit me once for when i needed mp, because i had tht mp ability, and eventually i pwned him, honest to god i did
if i were flying and something that creepy just happend to sidle up beside me i would have a heart attack, fall out of the sky and die right then and there
Watch you see the townsfolk looking up and they're like what the heck is those 2 boys, a duck, and a dog are flying around big ben and are trying to pwn a demon oh well maybe i ate to many crumpets cheerio
you know, i've seen this kingdom hearts trailer once and in the background was a song which said "reveal the light" any idea what i'm talking about or what the song is?
My first few times fighting this boss, I kept dying and not knowing why. It wasn't until I realized the clock was killing me that I did something. Of course I did everything first, like attacking it and using OTHER magic. I finally used Stop and that seemed to work, wasting about 50% of my resources before the battle even got started. Overall, this fight IS difficult, but not impossible. You'll definitely need magic and magic restoring items. And make sure not to be like me and not use Stop...
Sephiroth just needs patience to beat. He's overrated(as usual).
But THIS guy, Phantom? Unbelievably hard. You have no choice but to be constantly moving and going at max speed. You have to watch Phantom AND the clock, to make sure you don't one hit die, he can only be hurt in a specific way, Phantom is easily the hardest boss in the game. I beat Sephy at LV. 60 but even at LV. 99 I still can't beat this guy!
It's OK, and I've tried that. But the stop doesn't last long enough for me, and hitting the Phantom when he's flying, AND with a specific spell can get annoying.
Omg. I just noticed Goofy's absurd amount health xD

i reckon a good tactic is.....
1. Have a key blade with good magic (Lady Luck, Spellbinder or Ultima consider that 3 out of 4 times attacks will be magic not melee)
2. Every time Phantom gets to the clock THEN cast Stop(era)
3. Have Goofy not Donald, Donald doesn't no what spells to use, Goofy has MP gift.

My final strategy for beating Phantom involved sacrificing Peter Pan so that I THE KEYBLADE MASTER could live! I was also using Tinker Bell so she was makin a scene, all mourning and stuff like that
(hey I didnt have elixers for everybody so someone had to go)
Hanahvi 1 year ago
It was a hard battle but I was able to beat him on level 53 on expert. I used lady luck, any items, took out all of Goofy's and Peters abilities that used up MP, that way goofy would give his mp to me and not peter. Gave everyone tons of megaelexirs, and I would cast stop on the clock whenever the phantom fired that purple attack. When you are at a high enough level I suppose you can do without allies but when you're in the low 50s you need the support. Good video.

do you know how to enter the other two hotel rooms in traverse town? someone said they once got into it but never said how.

omg LOL, this boss is so easy o.o
the walkthroughs on the internet make it sound like this boss is hard as but its not at all :L
i was level 88 using ultima.
just constantly cast stopra on the clock, dont wait for it to countdown, and when it retreats towards the clock hands, to use its heat seeking worm, retreat so that the tower is in between you and Phantom.

This boss reminds me of death from castlevania since both appear in a level with a clocktower.

sunheart123 1 year ago
do the easiest tornaments in coliseum, try hercules cup or hades cup, but start from the 10th seed cuz u´ll be closer from rock titan( it´s easy and give u A LOT of experince)
40088922 1 year ago
@40088922 i just like too go the a spot in some worlds, like the end of the world, from the beginning, then fight to the core area(where there are all the beams of light, and you "travel" to the world, and fight heartless...i fight to that area, then get on the gummi ship, and go back too that spot, and occasionally go too other worlds and do the same thing... it works pretty well

Yea, so, having the enemy targeted doesn't automatically point you in the right direction, you gotta do that yourself...

How do you access this boss?
Humbledingify 1 year ago
i really admire their creativity for using the clock as a main part of the battle.
it makes you think up your own strategy for yourself instead of mashing the x button.
BertMcracken08 1 year ago
Good job, but the only complaint I have is that you did a piss-poor job on clock management. That should really be your first priority since its the only thing that makes this boss hard. But what do I know, I haven't beaten him, but haven't tried in like 3 years. You've inspired me to give it another shot.
KingIsMe613 1 year ago
@KingIsMe613
Contrary to popular belief, stopping the clock every 10 seconds is not THAT important if you know what you're doing. It's good for keeping your allies alive, but I usually manage to beat the Phantom without them. But thank you anyway.
mikeyspiky200 1 year ago 5
@mikeyspiky200
I'm not necessarily worried about my party members, I'm worried about myself since I would probably play this more defensively. The only real reason to keep you party members alive is Goofy's MP Gift and letting them give you ethers and other items you put on them.

Lol when i faced this guy when i knew how to beat him i was doing alone
theentarnalhorror95 1 year ago
Alot of the Heartless bosses get pretty easy after awhile compared to the bigger villains, but this guy and Kurt Zisa are an exception. It took me soooooo many tries to beat them. Thank heavens they aren't required to beat. Alot of gamers would be really frustrated if that was the case.

i saw this boss and got so pissed off i jumped the clock tower and was like RAGNOROK on his ass then he did doom clock i had no idea what was happening and it was just like failure
Luigiman217 1 year ago
Even harder when you just go back to neverland and want to go see the clock tower, only to be stopped by your iminent doom
onpyh2674 1 year ago
you have to beat the final boss just to fight him?
sameerislam1999 1 year ago
The first time you fight him, he's impossible because he doesn't take much hits and he is the ONLY boss in the game that ELIMINATES your party members as well as you--regardless of health.
Once you know to use Stop magic on the clock and know about his Color code, he's easy.
OF COURSE IT ALSO HELPS TO PUT YOUR USEFUL MAGIC IN THE QUICK SHORTCUTS FOR EASY ACCESS.
Though really, without his Doom-Clock, he's weak sauce. I mean, his attacks barely do any damage, and can be easily healed.

i only wanted to go back to the clock tower

lol this is what happened to me, peter pan dies, goofy dies, and im the only one left and i have no more mp based items, and my heart is just pounding, so i just start using taunts at him like "c'mere ya dumb ghost, didja know i screwd your mum last night?" and just called him swear names lol.. so i just let him hit me once for when i needed mp, because i had tht mp ability, and eventually i pwned him, honest to god i did

if it makes anybody feel better about how hard this boss is i beat him on the first try on level 53 XD
JokerIIIIIII 2 years ago
My first few times fighting this boss, I kept dying and not knowing why. It wasn't until I realized the clock was killing me that I did something. Of course I did everything first, like attacking it and using OTHER magic. I finally used Stop and that seemed to work, wasting about 50% of my resources before the battle even got started. Overall, this fight IS difficult, but not impossible. You'll definitely need magic and magic restoring items. And make sure not to be like me and not use Stop...
Raltzer 2 years ago
Sephiroth just needs patience to beat. He's overrated(as usual).
But THIS guy, Phantom? Unbelievably hard. You have no choice but to be constantly moving and going at max speed. You have to watch Phantom AND the clock, to make sure you don't one hit die, he can only be hurt in a specific way, Phantom is easily the hardest boss in the game. I beat Sephy at LV. 60 but even at LV. 99 I still can't beat this guy!
Arc13 2 years ago
no it's easy. just when you spell stop at the clock, the clock won't move for a minute.
just spell stop
fight phantom until you can't hurt him.
spell stop at the clock again...and so on
sorry for my bad englisch^_^
freakinmetalnerd 2 years ago
It's OK, and I've tried that. But the stop doesn't last long enough for me, and hitting the Phantom when he's flying, AND with a specific spell can get annoying.
Arc13 2 years ago
@Arc13 I Think you've got it backwards, THIS guy needs paitence to beat. None of his attacks really do much damage, he isn't relentlessy tryin
