The choice of the song is wonderful ! It makes everything so much more beautiful , it represent how Gallifrey was probably one of the greatest planet in the universe and how it was habited by great people (before the time war) but it also show how everything has disappeared...I watched the movie with the eigth regeneration after all the new series, and when I saw Gallifrey written on the computer of the Tardis showing how long it will took him to go to galligrey; I was so sad...

The doctor said the timelords could fix paradoxes, so why didn't they go back and stop the time war. I know the doctor tried to prevent the creation of the daleks, but he failed.

Brillant Job, although I don't think that the Time Lords used reguluar ships after TARDIS's were made, it's much safer to materilize in and out of citys then it is to open the gates when they have waste lands surrounding the citys. No, it was the Daleks that destroyed Galifrey, really the only crime the doctor ever did against Galifrey was stealing the TARDIS. That's really it. Any way, Galifrey was destroyed in the Time War by the Daleks, which is the reason the doctor was so intent on hurting that Dalek in CE's dalek episode.
He destroyed Gallifrey in the Time War, as he thought it would completely destroy the Daleks with it, but then they returned and he realised he had done it for nothing. Hope that helps.

The Galifrey that was in the end of series 3, was exactly how I imagine it, incredibly beautifull!! Thats why Russell T Davis is so good at this job, he is a genius! I will really miss him when he goes!
The Doctor cannot go back for two reasons. First there is nothing there, and second... the TARDIS has the rules of time built into the machine. One of them being "A Time Lord cannot go back in time to any of Gallifrey's Historical Events". The doctor cannot even go back to just look at it.
Even if he could find someway against those rules he still couldnt because after the time war Gallifrey was completely removed from time, like it was never there. Trivia :D
There's a guy I used to work with who basically couldn't believe that the timelords wouldn't have either had a back up plan or the tech etc. Maybe this could also be a way for punishing the doc for his traveling etc.

If the doctor is shot with a RPG( Rocket Launcher ) He can't regenerate remember the master had a choice, but being blown to pieces obviously gives him no option but to die

I thought that Gallifrey could be cloaked in someway to look like it gone forever to fool the Doctor into believing it got blown up in the Time War. May have got done by The Master and The Rani for all their purposes. Gallifrey use to be in The War Games Starring Patrick Troughton and The Deadly Assassin Starring Tom Baker and The Five Doctors Starring

I've heard the Rani is coming in 2010 played this time by Gillian Anderson from The X File use to be Scully in The X Files.
The last time we saw the Rani as the older long running fans of Doctor Who will remember that The Rani was tied up in her own TARDIS in The Time and The Rani that starred Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor back in the year 1987.
She wasn't involved in the Time War I don't think we never saw her involved with The Time War. It could be that not all Timelords died then.
Look Up Doctor who dimensions in time. The last time anyone saw the Rani her tardis got sucked into the grinage miridiam. However, dimensions in time has also been argued about it's continuity. But I use my imagination to think that This is why the Rani Could have missed/survived the TIME WAR. You know being stuck in another dimension and all.....

He left her after saving the humans from the daleks invading earth, he said he would come back but he never did, did he? I'd love to have Susan (her) explained in the new series, I bet the chances are she's the child of the doctor's genetic clone daughter brought back in time and raised by the 1st doctor.

No, she's definitely his genetic granddaughter. In the new series, the doctor keeps hinting about how he used to a father, and how he was married at one time. why would they do all that, just to go and explain a long time companion and fan favourite with some dumb one off character from the fourth series?

The Galifrey that was in the end of series 3, was exactly how I imagine it, incredibly beautifull!! Thats why Russell T Davis is so good at this job, he is a genius! I will really miss him when he goes!

The Doctor cannot go back for two reasons. First there is nothing there, and second... the TARDIS has the rules of time built into the machine. One of them being "A Time Lord cannot go back in time to any of Gallifrey's Historical Events". The doctor cannot even go back to just look at it.

There's a guy I used to work with who basically couldn't believe that the timelords wouldn't have either had a back up plan or the tech etc. Maybe this could also be a way for punishing the doc for his traveling etc.

I thought that Gallifrey could be cloaked in someway to look like it gone forever to fool the Doctor into believing it got blown up in the Time War. May have got done by The Master and The Rani for all their purposes. Gallifrey use to be in The War Games Starring Patrick Troughton and The Deadly Assassin Starring Tom Baker and The Five Doctors Starring
Peter Davison. It would be a great way to bring Gallifrey back in Doctor Who. I would bring back Gallifrey like that.

I've heard the Rani is coming in 2010 played this time by Gillian Anderson from The X File use to be Scully in The X Files.
The last time we saw the Rani as the older long running fans of Doctor Who will remember that The Rani was tied up in her own TARDIS in The Time and The Rani that starred Sylvester McCoy as the Doctor back in the year 1987.
She wasn't involved in the Time War I don't think we never saw her involved with The Time War. It could be that not all Timelords died then.

Look Up Doctor who dimensions in time. The last time anyone saw the Rani her tardis got sucked into the grinage miridiam. However, dimensions in time has also been argued about it's continuity. But I use my imagination to think that This is why the Rani Could have missed/survived the TIME WAR. You know being stuck in another dimension and all.....

Has anyone considered that time-locking Gallifrey and the Time War is a massive paradox. If Gallifrey has been plucked out of the space-time continuum then it effectively never existed therefore the doctor could never have left the planet in the first place. As a result he would never have encountered the Daleks who, before that meeting, didn't believe in life on other planets. Contrary to popular belief, Gallifrey was NOT a "beautiful" world. Most of its surface was a charred wasteland left over from the ancient civil wars centuries earlier. That's why the only city on the surface was in a glass dome. The sky was burnt orange from fallout and nuclear radiation. The ancient Timelords were evil beings who used to kidnap creatures from different time periods and make them fight in gladiatorial games, until Raissilon (the first Timelord) changed things.
