They were not gassed. The tent uses compressed air in order to be erected. You can hear the person recording the video commenting on this. Toward the end of the video the firemen release the valves and the tent deflates. No noxious fumes are commented on by the people surrounding the tent and no gas masks were used by any of the police or firemen. If the protesters were indeed "gassed," then someone outside the tent would have noticed.

They did rough up people who had chained themselves into a lockbox up the road though. They also held my crotch a little longer than i felt was necessary

What happens if these dips ran out of compressed air and the tent collapses? Do we know there was adequate compressed air, on site, to prevent deflation. Did they have an escape plan if the tent springs a leak and collapses? How long does it take to find 8 bodies, tied with hands behind the back, restricted movement by being close to other bodies? I see a law suit here? Unnecessary risk to and disregard for human life. Was there a "cop cam" in the tent? What, this they don't want to show off?

From the amount of people it took to carry the tent away and the material strain at the bottom that looks like the shape of lifeless bodies, I would say the once-protesters were still in the tent as it was carried away (see the last 20 seconds to decide for yourself). By being peaceful no matter what the protesters have proved that they will put up with the ultimate of abuses without retaliating. I wouldn't trust them to babysit a gerbil.

As a firefighter I have never been trained carry and/or employ any non-lethal gas weapons or any other weapon for that matter, as a means of crowd control. Of course, I am not a FF in Texas. That all being said, I do not agree with tent the public in order to hid or mask efforts of law enforcement. I may not know the precursors to what developed above but I disagree with the procedures being utilized.

Ive seen so much violence perpetrated against the peaceful protesters.. You people who speak ill of the occupy movement.. whats the matter with you? What happens if these dips ran out of compressed air and the tent collapses? Do we know there was adequate compressed air, on site, to prevent deflation. Did they have an escape plan if the tent springs a leak and collapses? How long does it take to find 8 bodies, tied with hands behind the back, restricted movement by being close to other bodies? I see a law suit here? Unnecessary risk to and disregard for human life. Was there a "cop cam" in the tent? What, this they don't want to show off?

Im really sick of this shit every time a cop does something that's "wrong" they get labeled as bad... But the moment a crime is committed someone got to call the police for help.. I understand what they did was wrong . But yelling about democracy won't do anything. Why don't they do something actually beneficial so that their voice could be heard and so that the people who they ask to protect them don't look like bad guys all the time.

From the amount of people it took to carry the tent away and the material strain at the bottom that looks like the shape of lifeless bodies, I would say the once-protesters were still in the tent as it was carried away (see the last 20 seconds to decide for yourself). By being peaceful no matter what the protesters have proved that they will put up with the ultimate of abuses without retaliating. I wouldn't trust them to babysit a gerbil.

even if the protestors were in the clear (the ones laying in the street), the loud mouth ones ruined it, taking away any form of a peaceful protests, and thus disturbing the peace, which is a crime punishable by being arrested and detained. Had just one of them stepped over the line, or touched one of the police officers, the cops would have every "right" to take action so as to defend themselves

How about this as a point: people who've never seen a tent like that and don't know the color codes for gas cylinders had NO IDEA what was going on inside that tent. They COULD HAVE BEEN GASSED in there for all anyone knew. Why did no one check? Ask to check, then if they were refused the whole damned crowd should have stampeded over those cops to make sure the people in the tent were okay. So I guess, yeah, folks here will just stand and watch, still trusting the cops.

As a firefighter I have never been trained carry and/or employ any non-lethal gas weapons or any other weapon for that matter, as a means of crowd control. Of course, I am not a FF in Texas. That all being said, I do not agree with tent the public in order to hid or mask efforts of law enforcement. I may not know the precursors to what developed above but I disagree with the procedures being utilized.

Has it occurred to anyone on this page that the people being arrested have the right to be processed in private.
