I think it's ok for someone to compare the exterior of the mkvi to the mkv. But interior??? Seriously you need to see a doctor. Some magazines say that the new golf's interior is actually better than the cheap versions of the new C-class. Don't you realize that all new hatchbacks envy the mkvi interior? And don't tell me that a stupid red light in the astra makes the difference...i'm gonna puke.

the golf's mkvi's interior actually is not that bad. i agree that the golf mkv's interior is far nicer and more realistic ( i own a little mk5 golf) . the one thats shit though , is the scirocco's interior. now thats shit.

It's like they took the mkv interior and made it cheaper. I test drove a mkvi gti yesterday and I was very disappointed with the interior. Its just gone all cheap and boy looking, Especially the doors interior. The mkv is a much nicer car inside. I will my trade in my r32 mkv for a new s4 or 335i. Vw have really disappointed me, both with the golf interior and exterior. They made the new golf too boxy. It would suit an old lady now.

the european focus is better, not just as good. feels just as solid, more reliable, bigger boot, more space, cheaper and infinitely more fun to drive.

i test drove the new golf and it's soooooooooooo dull.

before buying my focus i drove the golf, opel astra, kia ce'ed, mazda 3 and alfa romeo 147 and nothing else came close.

the golf is just a car for old people. how anybody could buy one is beyond me, when there are so many better and cheaper cars out there. focus, civic, mazda 3, i could go on.

i'm 26, not 66 so i won't be buying a golf just yet.

Focus is just as dull as the Golf. I have a 1.6l 115hp version as a second car, and its true it handle very good, but the interior just makes me depressed when i go to work in the morning. And its fully equipped, only things missing are navi and leather seats. All that gray plastic panels and gray seats, gray roof..... Its a complete contrast to my other Honda Accord 2.4 executive (2008) with beige leather which makes you feel happy every time you sit in it.

you guys don't understand, the objective of VW is precisely the design of the car to maintain almost like the older one. You see Renault clio the 2007 car, it's more less 2 year old an already is seen as a "old"  car, this happens because Renault is one of those companies that changes the design of the car completely from a model to another. That's why VW's BMW's Mercedes Audi's ... are so expensive, and are always seen as great cars.

Wrong. The sence of the Golf 6 is not to present a totally new concept. It´s all about evolution! So they just made everything smoother and improved the tolerances again. So here is the clue? For an practically identical price you get an upgraded golf 5. What else do u want?
