Just watched S. Darko and there is a scene where the guy who bought the meteroite took her to the top of a hill to watch fireworks. It looks very similar to location in your video.
Sean's a bit more anti film school than I am, but I go to school; mostly because it can be fun, and you do learn new things. We still research often. But some topics, depending on our personal level of interest, are spontaneous. Despite our tutorials, we like to see ourselves as experimenting just as much as the other guy.
We try to post either in WMV file format, or MP4, depending on filesize. MP4 tends to have less blocking, while WMV has better saturation.
i bet location scouting must be a lot more difficult and boring in some places in america, i stayed in texas for a while and it is very flat and dull, now i live in edinburgh in scotland, millions of locations for filming opertunites there. permits could be more difficult though
where is that hill location, it was pretty awesome. and the coyote shot reminded me of Michael Mann's Collateral with the coyote in the street during the audioslave sequence. Nice ep. dudes.
Yeah, our friends knew of an abandoned insane asylum and they went and shot there a couple years ago. We went along, but unfortunately didn't bring any equipment of our own.
What's up with this film, I never saw the first gorilla.

I'm wondering if Kanye West had a permit when he was on "Punked." I think most people shoot gorilla style unless there are a lot of people involved.

@dreburch You're right, they most likely did not have a permit. But more importantly, I'm sure they had permission.

Looks like S. Darko was filmed in Utah. Would have been cool if it really was the same place :)

That's an awesome location. The thing with me, is i don't drive yet. All i can do is walk to places, which restricts me from alot. Sweet episode.

Do you go to a specific film school or do you research things and then learn that way?
also,
Is there a certain way to upload a video so that the quality is the best possible? Youtube struggles greatly with video quality.

You've gotta get your priorities strait. Finish playing Mario Kart, and then go scout.
