@Heem24100 definetly, im not sure how much a new piston is, but new rings are only like 40 bucks, its a super easy fix. Itll be a pain to get the piston down in the block if you dont have a ring compressor though.

get a honda cr125 if u get a bike they are fast as hell and durable i have a 1997 and it still runs like a champ plus it will last longer than an 80 sizewise bc u will have to move up to a bigger bike sooner but i wouldnt get a cr unless u are tall im 5'11 and barley touch with both feet

I have a problem with my Honda CR80 -84.

It works great, starts on first kick without choke and gas.

BUT.. When I drive and give it alot of throttle it starts to "tick" when trying to reach high RPM's.

What is the problem? Because this is like a plug, it doesn't let me take all the power, so it's very slow.

yea it doesnt matter to much from your age or size with two strokes. two strokes are for experienced riders only. starting with one will make you develope some bad habbits. i started on a drz 125L. it was very nice for size now i ride a kx 85. the kx is alittle bit smaller than the drz but way harder to ride than any 4 stroke.
