Southern Television and Radio Victory. Just memories now. Actually, I still have a stack of Radio Victory technical/jingles tapes from a friend who worked there. Just need a machine to play them on! Ha!
Lovely to see the Houseparty ladies there... Daphne Lee was a good friend of my mums, and it was always VERY exciting to see her on the telly and know her too.. my sister went to school with her daughter Sam, once they both went to the home of Lucy Morgan in Hurstpierpoint in East Sussex to meet her sons and have a curry and she got a mention on the programme 'what a lovely girl' said Lucy !!
Very nice. And as a final two fingers up to the IBA (which the entire programme was, to be honest) no closedown announcement, national anthem, nothing - that screen just faded out to black until the following morning and the start of the new TVS franchise...
HA HA, Chris Robbie does sound like a Cyber Leader there-and he played one.

Great memories of Southern TV indeed!
I remember they had announcers for the programmes sometimes.

Wasn't there a high quality version of this once up on youtube? I remember it showing the full show as well.

That's one really over-compressed movie. If possible, it should be done with a much higher bitrate to get better quality.

It's from an old defunct site IIRC, never meant for YouTube, but I think we need to have this here in some form.

Are any of the people you mentioned still alive and if so are they still in the business?

Many thanks for the posting-it was a shame to see Southern Television go, but that was the decision of the IBA at the time.
Also, may I just add that Hurstpierpoint is in West Sussex, not East Sussex-an easy mistake to make I'm sure!

A trifle indulgent, only the cleaner seemed to be missing!

Yeah, indulgent is a good description. I was just thinking they were a bit over the top with their closing moments.

There's Fred Dinenage at 0:42. He went to TVS and when TVS lost some 11 Years later he went to Meridian. He still presents ITV Meridian South today!

At that time Fred also hosted the quiz programme Gambit for Anglia Television.
