For a thousand bucks they could at least put in a copper rad! I'm currently working on a DIY external water cooling system from an old big tower case and a car radiator. I just need to buy a pump and some tubing now.
Thanks for this, I may very well get this system if I can, where would you recommend I get it for a decent price? I like in the UK, Scotland to be precise!
Thanks for the video. Consumer PC modding is getting so hardcore than soon enterprise will be adapting consumer products for industrial applications :P.
Where can you buy this unit ? I checked the Koolance site and there is absolutely nothing about this unit , is the ERM-2K3UCU(3U) just a newer model ?Can you test it please .
i need a fast reply please! does the water cooling system like leak, spoil or have holes/cuts(material, etc) , making it easier to spill all over the inside of the computer? im very useless when it comes to this kind of stuff and im gonna build my owm computer soon.
Is liquid cooling worth it if you have a case with large fans on each side? Lets say for a Phenom II X4 925 (2.8GHz) with no overclocking, and a GTX 460 Graphics card.
@trubritar Master Trubritar, this Koolance ERM-3K4U5 is build just to cool processors? it seems a really good external liquid cooling system, but is just the best or is any better but to cool either cpu and gpu??
isnt that a bit too much for a pc how on earth do you put 5 pairs of tubes in a case , and isnt this sistem special order and worth more than 1000 dollars , a bit too mucho there is a smaller version with one pump or not?
not really, nothing will beat water cooling (except TECs, phase change and liquid nitrogen, but all of those are even more complicated)
your best bet is a big case with lots of fans, a noctua NH-D14 for the CPU and the best air cooling solution available for the GPUs. i toyed with the idea of a cold air feed directly to the graphics cards. that way you could get more even airflow to an SLI/crossfire setup.
This is true, mixed metal systems will quickly corrode. You can use nickel plated blocks with aluminium radiators with no ill effects. In any situation though, even full copper systems, it is always recommended to use a good quality coolant with corrosion inhibitors.
Was just talking about that on your forum to another member. Though there are skeptics who "swear" nickle plating "lessens" thermal transfer... but I haven't found that to be the case yet.
@trubritar hey, would u by any chance make a video on how to install water cooling on a asrock 890gx extreme 3 motherboard, i still cant work my motherboard out.
@headjumper92 Aluminum and copper are a bad idea due to dissimilar metal corrosion. That being said, dissimilar metal corrosion is when the two different metals are in contact. Having them in the same system is fine as long as they don't come in contact with each other.
Seriously? Well water has 40 times as much heat absorbtion and 10 times as little thermal resistance as air. And no, with a system that big you could turn the fans to their lowest setting >20dba would be the noise produced, and still get very sufficient cooling. The best air cooler in the world is easy rivaled by the cheapest watercooling system in the world. Air could get an OC'd HD5970 @ 1000/5200 down to 80 at full load, where as liquid can drop it to 40, and phase change can drop it to -15.
liquid cooling had entered my peripheral although the cost didn't seem worth it. with your assertions in mind, i will now seriously consider it in my next build.
is it best to liquid cool graphic cards or just get the overclocked edition? I mean if you can buy a gtx 285 at 702mhz, what can you do by watercooling it? go to 800mhz?? I
Watercooling would give it better temperatures, looks nicer, plus it's quieter. Since it has better temperatures you can overclock it as it's still stable.
thats another rig you got to hall around who wants another thing of metal might as well build your own station for this kind of stuff plus this looks like beta they could end up reszing it and making a much smaller unit...
Word to the wise: DO NOT BUY ANY WATER COOLING HARDWARE WITH WATER-SIDE ALU.
Ideally you want to use only copper and/or brass, because when you have copper/brass in a loop with aluminum, you WILL end up having issues with GALVANIC CORROSION. Look it up.
I tried to tell these people that and got FLAMED. almost ten years water cooling here everyone, trust me, don''t even think of buying this.
Over priced, REALLY bad materials, water shares all 5 loops, so many things wrong with this I don't have enough characters. You can buy top of the line WC equipment for half the price, get twice the performance, and would last a long long time.
Water cooling is not that I hard I did my first this yr. Have a classified limited edtion so I went all out. I have no leaks what so ever. I have my rig on my youtube page.
