I have been playing live performances for over 20 years and own both electric and acoustic sets. So you might say I know a little something about it since I AM a drummer. The only vids that were really entertaining was this Didi and JP Bouvet. The rest was lame with a bunch of technical difficulties with everybody playing the same little sounds/riffs. In my book John Rabb is best i've see on V-Drums but his performance was kinda dry in comparison to his promo he did in Japan. I feel winners bracket was handicapped because ALL of them had USER technical problems. Not fair Roland, they should've been better prepared.
It's amazing how percussion has evolved over the last several years! Now drummers are not content to just play extraordinary rhythms, but to also compose and orchestrate simultaneously. It seems with technology, playing drums is now more musical than ever. What this young lady is doing here is truly astonishing. I love how the state of the art has progressed!
Wow this girl totally freaking rocks!!! Out of all the contestants, if the judges really knew anything about the roland drums, they would have known she was the only one who actually recorded on the begining (how risky) during her competition, and she excelled! Her knowledge of the Roland Drum Kit blows the others away and her versatility in the different styles demonstrated here is remarkable... I put her in the same league as Mike Portnoy or Neil Peart easily and look foreward to seeing a lot more from Didi!
