@DizziNY1 Freedom of speech is thankfully still alive. Although I think the way you use it in this argument is misplaced. If you compare the USA's political point of view with the European point of view. You will probably see for your self that the Democratic's points of view (Obama, etc.) are more 'right wing' than Europe's right wing parties are (except some extreme right parties). There's nothing 'socialism' about Obama, it's more that the Republicans are extremely conservative!

The ones you say are extremely conservative are not conservative enough because neither of the major political parties are really for freedom which is what conservatism is really all about. Our country is based on freedom and those who want to conserve the original foundation are non existent in politics. But you don't get American freedom and our Constitution.

Hey, this is very well done. A great post. It's nice to see you've made the effort to acknowledge Bono's role in mitigating the AIDS crisis in Africa. He's a great musician but also a very caring human being who has saved lives because he feels obligated to play his part.
