A very early M.M. cartoon. As I said elsewhere, there is no set origin story. Here he gains super-powers by certain foods. Just like Captain Carrot, Captain Nice, Mr. Terrific, SuperMouse (special cheese)....
Bugs, there are a number of reputable educational institutions specializing in the instruction of the English language, where you can learn to write, or at least master the essentials, you poor dumb illiterate.
@akgah No, them damn congressmen. In 1948, they broke up the studio's theater monopolies, which led to the death of the theatrical short, and the dissolution of their animation departments. Quality slowly went downhill after 48 as cartoon budgets decreased and many animators went to greener pastures like TV advertising studios. Cartoons made for tv were all faster and cheaper, with fewer frames per second and cruder art by lower paid artists.
Man that was awesome. Thank you for reminding me of great memories. I loved MM, and watched him in the 60s. He was my favorite. Once again she11072, thank you soooooooooooo very much!!!!!!!!!

Wow,Mighty Mouse has a Brooklyn accent, who knew? Interesting to see how the character design of MM changed over the years from how he first appeared as he does here. Same deal with Bugs Bunny too. MM battled both Frankenstein's Cat & Dr.Jekyll's Cat in 2 separate cartoons. They should have done a sequel where MM had to fight both of them together. Maybe even add Dracula's Cat to it too. What incredible animation these 'toons had & they are still dazzling to view to this day.
Originally released in November 1942. Directed by Mannie Davis, story by John Foster, music by Philip A. Scheib. In TV reissue prints, all references to "Super Mouse" (in his 1942-'44 cartoons) were eliminated or re-dubbed.
He was still called Super Mouse at this point. That's why his costume is mimicking Superman's. But you're right. He does look better with the yellow and red. It reminds me of my ideal comic book character, SUPERCAT. His costume's yellow and red but with slight differences.
So then the characters name is Mighty Mouse at this stage! If they had have run with the name Super Mouse they would have had a lawsuit according to what u say. SO they didnt call him Super Mouse to avoid a lawsuit they called him Mighty Mouse. Again, even by your logic the character at this stage is known and refered to as Mighty Mouse!! Your confusing me boy

If this is the case why at 4:12 and 6:00 does the narrator call the character "Mighty Mouse"??
microastronomy 2 years ago
The name Super Mouse was already taken by a comic book character, so to avoid any charges of plagerism, they say Mighty Mouse.
