As of right now, there is little reason to believe they will reunite. Play together or feature on each others albums, sure, but a full-on reunion of The Roses is unlikely. Ian and John are two old friends coming together again to be just that: friends.
when you listen to that you have to listen too the both songs live japan....!!! parts in the tunes were i felt bouncing through my next door neighbours wall !!!!!! fucking slamming !!!
This performance is dreadful. Music is flat and devoid of energy. Vocals are awful (as always). Shame. Their first album is one of the greatest of all time.
please god make good music come back, i use to think the 90's was pretty crap for music but all this lady gaga shit and just fucktard beiber is makes me vomit
in my opinion one of the greatest songs ever written.. cant say much more than that really, lyrically it couldnt be better, vocally it is brilliant and musically it is perfection.. Saw Brown recently in Leeds, he was fuckin amazing, hasnt lost anything and is a legend.. Like many id give anything for a Roses re-union, but if in anyway it wouldnt be as good as they left it i wouldnt want them to in a way, wierd i know but id still give anything to go back and see them in their hayday
Maddix was shite, no wonder Squire fukced off. It's one thing not being able to hold a candle to Reni but it's another being unable to stay in rythm with your bass man. Sub standard at his best. looked the part though.
Seems to me they've both had enough in this vid!! JS misses out the intro part after he runs his hands through his hair! IB is hardly his normal bouncy self (would u wanna be in great band which the guitar player dominates the second album?)!Both got their reasons im sure! Nothing ever lasts forever!
obviously none of you dicks are true stone roses fans because if you were you'd realise that the writing abillity of squire and brown was second to none, and the contrast of brown's singing and squire's guitaring equaled themselves out. ok brown's singing was bad live but it worked. stop slaggin the bloke off and just appriciate one of the greatest and most influentual bands of all time.
@lfcwhitman5 You'll find that most of the 'richards' that continuously take shots at Ian Brown and John Squire have never heard them live, and those that did love Damon Alburn and his unholy Blur. Most of them were not even old enough to remember Then Stone Roses so pay them no mind.
@wideheadofknowledge It hurs to say this but this gig wasn't long before the disasterous final gig at Reading. They were on their way down. My prior comments were aimed at 'others' who claimed to have heard them but weren't even old enough to have been at Blackpool, Spikeisland, and Glasgow Green. Their crystal balls don't work as well as they think they do.
@wideheadofknowledge That may be true, but I thought a big part of the thing with the 'Roses was it was like your mate or some bloke off the terraces was the lead singer, Brown's singing might not be 'good' in the sense of 'professional singing' etc but it's the way his singing works with the lyrics and the music....it's the combination. Especially on the second album, the guitar 'sound' and his singing compliment each other very well. There is ego but it's not pretentious. In my view.
@lfcwhitman5 John Squire is jaw-dropping. You get the lot that's like "their 2nd was a travesty", and then you get the lot that's like "DAMN, Squire knew how to play, he just blamed it on the engineer for making them sound like Herman's Hermits on the first record." Look, they sat down, got stoned, watched 'Song Remains The Same' and realized, "We ARE the preeminent band of our generation, let's showcase it!!!" But it was a little before Oasis Paul Weller, and Ocean Colour scene peaked." Gods.

Robert Vaughan could sing this tune, let alone Robert Plant. Brown is as flat as a witch's tit.
