I figured out what I ended up doing at 0:54, it was 77771707771716661. I have no idea what I was planning to do, but it wasn't that. That is what it looks like when I get lost - create a random 17-period siteswap. You can imagine my relief when I finally realized, "Aha! 6661 will get me out of this mess!"
I already subscribed when I found the old videos (which I had seen on Luke's site when I was just starting out), so I am very pleased that your are back. Thanks for the trick list, the moment temperature rises again in Belgium I'm gonna go out and try a couple of them. Are you also planning on picking up clubs again as well?
Yes, I'm picking clubs back up too, although they are coming back more slowly. A year ago I could barely qualify five clubs, and six and seven were completely hopeless. The last time I tried a few months ago, I could run five but six and seven were still hopeless. So they haven't come back as quickly but I haven't put as much time into them - I can't do them indoors, for one.
Wow! Very nice. I was thinking Thomas Dietz while watching in the beginning, even before reading the description. Also, I enjoyed the music (a pleasant change from the usual fare, IMO). Were you wearing gloves in some of those?? (I was trying to juggle outside recently and it was too cold. You appear to live somewhere colder... :))
Thank you for thinking of Thomas Dietz while watching me. :) I was not wearing gloves during any of the videos. If the temps are in the high 40s (F) and it's not windy, if I get warmed up and stay active, I stay warm, and a hat helps a lot with that. In Colorado we often have sunny, warm days just a few days after a snowfall, so it's probably warmer than it looks.
I would LOVE to see you post some tutorials. I am going to subscribe to you. Going from barely qualifying 7 to what you did in that video in only a few months?? I'm sure you have a good practice technique that I would love to get some ideas from. congrats on the return to juggling!
I think it's more a statement of my having once been much better than it being a statement of my excellent practice technique, which it probably isn't. I juggled off and on for ~20 years prior to the 10-year leave, I have merely regained some lost ability.
I stopped for many reasons, but especially because my interests changed. Now, my interests are changing back. Within the last few months I have gotten better - a year ago I could barely qualify 7 balls. I will also admit some influence from YouTube - there are some things I'd like to post, including some tutorials.
what is the first trick called at 0:04

The music is track 5 of Comets over flatland.
It's in 16-tone equal temperament

Amazing. I found this video because of the music, but the juggling is way cool =)

I'm glad you liked it. I am fascinated by microtonal music and have several more I'd like to use in future videos.

Whoa, extremely excellent tricks. What an engineered siteswaps list! :) No wonder, that you were one of its inventor.

That's really incredible after going so long without juggling, I guess it really stays with you. I'm curious, why the stop and why the return?

Awesome juggling but I had to turn the music off.
Any chance of getting a siteswap list?
Jugglingbuffoon 2 years ago
The music might grow on you, but maybe not.
I'll put the list in the description. Check back in a few.
