there is nothing "new" and there is no efficiency since a car stills burns gas, now the future generations have to pay what old consumists people did to the planet, please "BIG BRAND COMPANIES" get rid of the massive consumption of gas, break the bonds between oil companies and automobile companies. Do not disappoint people with hibird expensive cars.
Really? In all the airports, and all the air bases private, and military? Sure you see more cars, but by volume planes spew out lots more, and burn through gas so much faster.
@VALsacount2 not all plains that you've mentioned are used everyday, but yes they spread and burn fuel, but lets start with the most conventional and most used, so please, convergence will turn against oil companies and the incompetency of automobile factories will be the best starting point to make this possible.
I wish all the people in the USA can convert to Diesel religion... in Europe we have Lupos and Polos with clean diesels that run up to 80MPG.... diesel is always a big leap ahead of hybrid and it's the future.
Im waiting to see a diesel hybrid polo. now that is something I would buy wihtout thinking twice about. Imagine the 80mpogs of a polo then add a hydrid system, that could easly get over 100 MPG's. start emailing VW about it, let them know that people want it, it will happen if we can get others to do the same.
Poor reability? You got to be kidding me? Don't listen to what people say i bought a golf (not diesel) and it's straight from Germany it's year 2000 and i bought it 5 years ago i still drive it today with no problems whatsoever..Now then ones that r built in mexico are the problem..U can tell by the WIN number and onthe door side where the car was built...
the prius already beat the competion the new 2010 nissan leaft makes 320 mpg that is seven times the economy of the tdi pop pop opo pop pop pop popo pop po diesel sucks
Your an idiot. The leaf is electric it has no MPG associated with it, and the people who fall for that kind of crap are just as stupid. I've had many VWs and none of them had issues, you also never said how OLD the car was when things broke on it. 5 year old cars have things break on them due to age regardless of miles. a 20k mile 8 year old car still has 7 winters and 8 summers of temp changes on its running belts and other parts, did u ever think about that? Things break.
Also the Leaf has a 100 mile range *tops*, my Jetta has up to 800 mile rage. How is the smaller, less safe in a crash, electric better? A: It isn't, but you wouldn't know because you believe in marketing HYPE over science FACT.
I've owned VWs since 2000 and I've yet to have one stand me for something that broke of the manufacturing. I don't count busting an oil pan on the parts that fell off the Semi in front of you a failure of engineering. All of our VWs have been flawless with over 100k miles put on each in less than 4 years time. Exception vehicles, the diesels have been the best of them all with fuel economy.
Smart cars are the stupidest cars out there. How smart are you going to look dead after a crash? Sure I got killed, but hey, it got great gas mileage!
+ So how much did VWOA pay you clowns for this. It's funny really. Any one ever consider which car is more comfortable to a 6'4" 210 human, no huh... Just wondering if you ever plan on doing a car show for men?
I'm 6'3" and over 240. I drive a Jetta TDI and with my seat set to my liking I can sit behind it. I'd say the VW or the Audi, NOT The Prius... not sat in a 2010 but the 2nd gen models (09-earlier) had horribly short seats that put my knees in the dash in the passenger seat.
Wow I didn't know they were that roomy. Think it could tow my Force 55 fishing boat? I have a Hummer H-1 (4 door pickup) It tows the boat and 3 other men daily to work, thus eliminating 3 cars on the road. The boat, supplies, trailer and men weigh 40k lbs making the H-1 more fuel efficient that your Jetta or a Prius. The hummer gets 12 mpg/diesel. It's more about what one does with their ride than what it is... I will seriously consider the Jetta TDI when my Cannondale fails me. thanks...
Whats the weight of the boat? If it's less than 6300LB my Jeep CRD can pull it + 3 adults and get over 20MPG.
You don't need an H1 for a commuter car and this video was about daily drivers/commuters NOT special needs such as "I need something to pull my large ass boat."
The rest is equipment, necessary to deep sea fish, Ice, bait, beer, stuff like that. The point I was trying to make was this vehicle is a commuter vehicle for 4 people and the necessary equipment to perform a days work and return home. Is that not commuting? Not everybody earns a living the same way... peace
You need to join the 21st century. The clackety diesel noise in Audi's and VW's was eliminated when they changed to direct injection technology several years ago.
wv jetta is not riliable and the diesel engine sound like ass pop pop pop pop and only gets 29mpg the prius is quier has the espace of the fusion and the most important gets 51 MPG reability is exelent and the air conditionating works with the battery so you can have sex whith your girlfriend and the engine is off nobady nows you are there i make my point think about, pop pop pop pop pop or ssssssssssssss
What kind of car did you get? I have a non clean diesel and it's less noisy than many of the SUVs I work with. MIne has returned 40-42 lifetime, I routinely drive it 740 miles - non stop - on a single tank. Thats 50MPG. In town the worst has been 38. The Prius is a joke in comparison. I have 100k miles and my car has never failed to start nor has it stranded me.
I think it's because older VWs are much more reliable than recent ones. I've noticed all of those that said their VW were solid were owners of early 90s/late 80s VWs.
My uncle bought a camry that was on transmission #2 by 47,000 miles. A bad water pump and a bad strut are NOTHING in comparison.
There was no 1989 TDI. Did you mean 1998 TDI? How fast did he get to 50k miles? If the car is 8 years old the water pump was due; as was the timing belt. If it was in a year that's excessive wear. Give us more details.
vw's have HORRIBLE reliability. The Insight didnt win anything. I would say Audi but oviously its alot more. So id go Fusion, Prius, Insight, Jetta, and then Smart.
I've had a Jetta TDI and now own a Prius. The TDI is a great engine, but VW doesn't have the reliability of a Toyota. The VW has lots of torque with I miss, but the Prius isn't too bad either since it uses the electric motor to assist the engine in fast exceleration.
seven cars and just over 2 mins review. How stupidly incompetent is that?!
