  • theyre so colorful and look like a Gap advertisement. Joanna (the first girl to sing) looks gorgeous as always too :)

  • There is a *TON* of lip-synching on the show. There is also subtle post-production editing to the vocal tracks to enhance voices to make the blending sound smoother--this was completely obvious when viewing the final "live" episode this season and comparing the sound to a regular taped episode. Huge difference in sound. In the Christmas Episode this year, a few of the singers were caught without a microphone on their stands--further evidence that parts are lip-synched.

  • this is my fav type of parade. not the Greate Amerca parade, and none of the Disney parades. this is SOOOOO my fav parade. i watch it every year in the morning of Thanks Giving. something im thankful is... THE MACY'S PARADE!!!♥

  • Kurt's still wearing a fedora. :D

  • The old folks behind Jerry at 1:42 are like "Shoot, that guy is my age."

  • It looks like an Old Navy ad

  • Why was Jeremy the only one from SCS??

  • @NoraH119 They took the "lead singer" from each group. Backbeats had three representatives because they needed more females to balance the group. Why not more females from some of the other groups? Who knows. Maybe the others couldn't get away to be in NY for a week. Committed had two reps because they took their lead and the best bass from the show. Eleventh Hour had two because they took their lead and the best vocal percussionist.

  • YEAH FEEL THE COLDNESS LA PEOPLE. O.o

  • does anybody else get annoyed when joanna sings and sticks her jaw way out?

  • im glad they didnt let Jerry Lawson have a solo part

  • @MuSiCjUnKiE1016 They did. Listen again.

  • @acapellafeller i mean like a major part like the dude from street corner

  • Great job Peter Hollens!

Would have loved it more if you got to sing a little longer solo.

  • 0:56

    the blondie is a giant!!!

    O.O

  • This song is now for sale in iTunes, its sounds EXACTLY like this video so yea its was a lip sync but for the macy Thanksgiving parade, I expect lip singing, its just to much to actually get mics to everyone in time and have them work correctly. Those mics are just props.

  • Nathan Calixto has the most beautiful male voice. Just pure. Just absolutely pure and beautiful.

  • On second though, they also forgot the daughter from the jazzy group that I forget the name of.

  • Besides picking the wrong girl from Pitched Slapped [though that may be my just feeling that the girl that was the lead on Pitch's one performance was HOT AS FUCK] they pretty much took the Allstar voices and beatboxers from the season. Of course they were also the people who got camera focus during the actual show so clearly they knew who their stars were.

  • @madhackrviper I thought the Pitch Slapped girl was awesome here. I think this Pitch Slapped girl has more sneiority in the group

  • which group was the asian dude in?

  • @MuSiCjUnKiE1016 Yale Whiffenpoofs

  • Every performance at the parade is pre-recorded by each group, then it's lip-synched for the live performance. There's would be no other reliable way to do it with that many groups going on in quick succession - with no chance for a sound check in between. The reason it looks so realistic is because the singers are actually singing along with the recording as they normally would - but the microphones are dead.

  • more berklee college of music people in this group, please, also if they gave joanna and jeremy a couple less lines of music, they could have had some of the other people sing a little more.

  • Awesome!

  • yall dont know what yall r talking about they are NOT lip syncing!!!!

  • yall dont know what yall r talking about they are NOT lip syncing

  • Seriously, guys? Of course they're lip syncing. EVERYONE does for this parade. Lip syncing is a safety during live performances so that there aren't any glitches with someone's voice cracking during an extremely cold day. And if you had ever watched them on The Sing-Off you would be able to recognize that they are lip syncing TO THEIR OWN VOICES! This isn't some cheap Milli Vanilli stunt, these are talented people making sure they are heard at their best.

  • @jforman11 I fell completely stupid! I didnt know they were lip synching! ; they had so much emotion that I thought they were actually singing live ! Lip synch or not, they all are still very talented.

  • @jforman11 I can understand if they lip-synced the opening number in each episode, but I don't think they got to lip sync their actual judged performances. I distinctly remember at least 1 or 2 mess-ups that I saw and heard in those.

  • @ilikeimac You are almost right. The opening numbers had lip synching for the backing vocals and the vocal percussion. The opening number lead vocals were all recorded live in front of the studio audience. All of the competition numbers were 100% live - one take, no second chances.

  • @acapellafeller For sure...I watched the competition numbers, and that proves that each person at the parade can sing well ♥♥

  • @jforman11 Its not true that they lip synce during the show. That is legit singing. If you want proof go look up changes, groove for thought. She messes up toward the end and it is very clear that she didnt mean to do that.

  • @musical122 They do lip sync during the show. You should google that clip. They were singing Usher's "Without You" and got busted lip syncing.

  • @jforman11 yeah, i've actually been to this thing live. they lip sync. it's not a shocker, really.

  • Lip syncing displays no real talent. We don't even know if it's their voices. You people are retarded, mindless, zombie, robot followers who make up stupid shit to prove your points.

  • @donlon77 watch the singoff! they're awesome

  • @donlon77 I don't think I've seen a performance from the Macy Day Parade that wasn't lip synced... It's pretty clear that's how the broadcast operates.

  • @donlon77 Watch the frikkin sing off before you call people retarded, mindless, zombie, robot followers. Those ARE their voices. YOU'RE the retard.

  • @donlon77 At this point i would assume you got the message from everyone else and that there really is nothing else for me to say...is there.

  • Come on people, why is it that when people do something great, that others think they should just tear them down. If you dont like it, dont comment. The world is not all about you. Deal with it. I think these people are amazing, maybe you should watch the show.

  • they're def lipsyncing...they do that for ALL the acts on all the macy's day parade.

  • is it just me of does kendall remind you of aly michalka ffrom aly and aj.? :)

  • O and kendall is the one in the blue coat and red boots... kurt is the one with the black fedora and the blue scarf

  • WOOHOO go KURT AND KENDALL!!!! I miss fairmont so much...

  • This year's Sing-Off is sooo great!! Loving the competition so far :D

  • they sound like they do the GLEE overdubbs....

  • look it's blake lively

  • Im Now Rooting For Eleventh Hour [Pink Group] I Was Rooting For Pitch Slapped [Purple Group] Til They Got Eliminated I MEAN WTF THEY WERE AWESOME

  • wow, they are really good at lip syncing,....

  • @gintgang ummm actually i sure know kendall and kurt arent lipsyncing... i've known them for 3 years... they are naturally that good

  • @kimmicub17 umm, they are just naturally good enough that they can sing without their mouths matching up with what they say? Besides, just because they are lip syncing it doesn't make them any less good, it would be unreasonable to expect them to perform well live in such a poor venue as this, regardless of how talented they are.

  • @Skyhawk02 You're a fucking idiot. Your comment makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Good singers don't have to lip sync. They suck. That's why they lip sync.

  • @kimmicub17 In Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade everyone lip syncs. The venue isn't good enough for people to sing live. They're great singers, but they have to lip sync in order to be heard by the audience.

  • @WatchAlou whhy is nit not good enough for people to sing live, vocal chords don't work in the cold? they have microphones?

  • It's a beautiful... playback.
