The way that all insurances work ( public and private ), everyone puts money into an account and then they take it out when someone gets sick. They don't take it out of their pockets to pay for your medical needs. You are technically always paying for someone Else's insurance one way or another (So stop saying you cant afford someone else's).

1. Fails to explicitly state all its philosophical implications
2. Fails to advance human philosophy
3. Fails to represent BASIC TRUTH

The only reason the conservatives are even trying to gain political power, is for the sole reason of erasing the government. How is that not terrorism? Both sides are looking increasingly out of touch and greedy beyond belief. Some commentators at MSNBC may have bias also but at least they don't incite violence and panic among their viewers. Fox routinely uses inflammatory speech and it shows at Tea Party rallies. It won't be so bad without Beck at Fox I suppose but they'll never be as "fair and balanced" and they claim. Peace.

I think we just uncovered the problem of unrestricted trade - Humans. Just like communism requires ideal rational agents for it to work so does free trade. You scoff at my example but eating poison (willingly/unwillingly) or withholding medical treatment because they believe prayer/homeopathy works does lead to unnecessary deaths.

I'm not comfortable with making blanket statements but there is a certain threshold which we as a society/individuals can agree should not be crossed even if it somewhat restricts free trade.
There are methodologies/systems we can create/engage in which limit/reduce misinformation. Under such systems claims like "Led in children's toys is good for their health" are objectively wrong.

I think we just uncovered the problem of unrestricted trade - Humans. Just like communism requires ideal rational agents for it to work so does free trade. What if we said only rational people believe in prayer as the only source of medical treatment. We may even show studie that show prayer works (there are some that say that) They then not allow normal medical treatments to occur because of this. They then say it is irrational to do so.

That may show poor choice but the fact they were free to use any term to describe it shows that this was not a directive from the top that mandated them to use it. I believe some other FOX news anchors actually did not use the term govt option and disagreed with some of the rhetoric about "Death Panels".

I would like to know what FACT was misrepresented in anything they said? There is no difference between public option and government option since government and public ultimately refer to the same thing. I guess government does sound more menacing than public but doesn't anyone think that the dems who came up with that also tested their own phrases and chose public over government?

@timbosforporn People tend to reject things labeled with "government" before even informing themselves on what they are rejecting. That isn't particularly healthy behavior. I have no objections when people use inviting terminology (which you contend but do not actually provide evidence for) to ease them to grapple with a new idea critically.

The point is that progress as you define it can't be done without government intervention which implies more govt control over society. And on another related topic, the reason why Obama had to cut so much in everything was because Bush sucked at math and didn't realize that starting 2 wars while lowering taxes for the rich was a really fking stupid idea. Now the US has a president who sucks at politics but at least knows math. That's why he actually made a plan to get out of Irak and is trying to put the taxes on a level where the country won't go bankrupt. Or bailing out banks to save millions of jobs.

Studies have proven that religious people who believe in creationism etc are more convinced of their religious views when they're confronted with the evidence. Last time I checked Fox News viewers are fairly religious, so there might be that thing happening here.
Say what you will about MSNBC, Obama, Soros, whatever, I don't care, just take a deep breath, and ask yourself if this isn't evidence of bias.

Because it's drowned in the conservative spins which happens daily. Also, there is no ultimate winner in health care(public/private). They both have pros and cons, only the morality behind it really changes. Private makes money off sick people, and public is abused by old people (don't ask). So having both could have been interesting to see but apparently the republicans are too stubborn to see that.

@noah924 Oh bs. Almost all newspapers (which nobody reads anymore) are liberal (which is why nobody reads them). The 3 main networks are...LIBERAL. MSNBC is...LIBERAL. Even our "public programming" (which will soon be ended), PBS and NPR, are....liberal. Only the radio plus Fox is to the right. So yes there is a liberal bias in most of the media, but its not working!

I never seen one fact misrepresented on Fox news and never once has any leftist actually was able to show where they got a fact wrong. They have managed to show that their own political view may make them choose different words but doesn't every CBS do the same thing in the other direction. W can lead the world against terrorism on FOX while W can be invading another country on CBS. Both are referring the same event which neither station has misrepresented.

Not all right wingers are pro-megabanks... Ron Paul is a big advocate of free markets, is mostly right wing on issues, and Fox snubs him much worse than MSNBC. This is because we do not have true capitalism in this country... its more like an oligarchy/corporatism or state capitalism.
Our monetary policy and the Federal Reserve secrecy are at the heart of the problem but that never gets discussed. Special interests have hijacked Washington and the people are left with the crumbs.
