  • what is the black dude listening to? it's awesome

  • UED Power!!!

  • @ronthetruefan their not the terran dominion their the ued

  • when the music at the end cuts in it never ceases to give me chills... and is it sad that I've got the short chat between Alexie and dugalle memorized and recite it along with them whenever i see this? >_<'

  • Well, they are Terran Dominion, so, screw 'em, right?

  • That black guy is gonna grow up to be General Warfield.

  • @roosta655

    too bad he's probably dead.

  • 1st guy : "WHERE IS THE AIR SUPPORT?!!"

2nd guy : * points to the air above and thinks "duuuh" *

  • @boredwan that made me laught so hard...it kinda obvious thats what the guy was thinking:)))

  • The marine at the start gets his body shredded by the zergling, then his face set on fire by the firebat. Poor guy.

  • When i was young, i though the UED was the ''good''. i mean the ''good'' terran who came to save the humanity. What is really sad is that they didn't care of those marines.. It proves that the UED is just fighting for their own interest, the interest of the earth. The earth itself did not care of theirs colonist in the kropulu so why should they have the right to suddendly go there and destroying the Dominion, who fight his way himself to protect the human there? sorry for bad english :)

  • @Amoniak71 The Dominion abandonned it's outer colonies during Kerrigan's invasion in SC2, they aren't any better than the UED. Dont be tricked.

  • @Amoniak71 The UED strikes me as a "ignore the plight of the few to serve and protect the greater good" type organization which means basically that they don't regard the lives of most individuals as important and not worth risking their operation to save. It's cold blooded but they seemingly regard it as vital......

  • Anyone know what the song at the end is called or is it just production music?

  • @rjbonacolta brood war aria

  • SC2...really, is that all anyone talks about now? F*ck man, wtf happend to the older games?! Is there no respect for them AT ALL? I noticed this with the older Warcraft games aswell, the second Warcraft 3 comes out, EVERYONE forgets about the first 2!

  • @Traitos ikr! i have friends that dont know shit about sc1 and got sc2 just because i got it too and only 1 out of like, 4 actually knows about sc1, they know theres a sc1, but they dont know the story they got no mind!

  • These zerglings look WAY better than the silly dinosaurs in SC2

  • @dman19851996 these here look like zergling/hydralisk hybrids, zerglings themselves ALWAYS look like zerglings, even in sc2

  • @VaginalTumor The thing that sarge ran over looked like one of these things and he told lester it was a zerglin' though =\

  • @dman19851996 dont remember it looking like that

  • @VaginalTumor If you look before it gets hit, it's head is shaped like these things and at 1:08, you can see a couple more of them with the hydra

  • @dman19851996 yes ok your right just leave me alone

  • @VaginalTumor Thank you for respecting my opinion. I apologise if I have inadvertently asserted that I am overly obsessive on forcing my views upon you, but it had been because you had made a reply, which had prompted me to start a short conversation via commenting. A flaw for us both, I guess. Cheerio.

  • @dman19851996 zerglings have feet, hydralisks don't. There are 0 hydralisks featured in this clip.

  • @Tornado5000170 Sorry, that "1:08" Comment was referring to the Starcraft 1 Cinematic.

  • 5 people were abandoned by their aerial support

  • alexi is still alive! n64 starcraft!!!

  • trench warfare against terran=win

trench warfare against zerg=wtf are you thinking

  • I've never understood why the marines (who were defending the colonists, I take) seen here think DuGalle's airship is on their side... Weird.

  • @SniperMaske those are from the dominion, the Aleksander with DuGalle and Stukov are of the UED

  • if this isnt a dominion colony... sad

and wow in game you can survive a large zerg attack but in realty its hard

  • "where is the air support?!?!"

    "in the air dips shit."

  • Wow the marauder already existed in BW in this scene. haha

  • The new Starcraft 2 is so fucking cheesy compared to the old one. Just this one scene here, it has all in it, epic drama, cliche and anti-cliche, just so incredibly real. Just watching this scene made me immediately buy the game.

  • is it me or is this very similar to the SC2 cinematic about kerrigan getting betrayed?

  • Anybody else notice that the Marine's bullet counter was going down faster than he was shooting?

  • @NotCliffyB Shit, even their BULLET COUNTERS are pieces of junk.

  • Anyone else notice how similar this cutscene is to apocolypse now. Stukov is a total badass by the way.

  • @Nscott7211 that was the point. Blizzard loves pop culture references.

  • @Nscott7211

dude i was just thinking that. nearly identical in the dialgoue/attitude of that scene.

  • SC cut-scenes are freaking art... I hope that SC2's story and presentation is a third as good as the just even the last 20 seconds of this.

  • @Aegis064 u have no idea do u...

  • @Aegis064 The SC II cinematics are jaw dropping. They feel like they were pulled from a movie. You only need one look at the video of the Marine suiting up and him saying, "Hell, it's about time," to get you pumped.

    /watch?v=r7d5XheWiBk

  • sucks to be the marines in the end...

  • @desertdog111 "Ever notice how nobody ever goes -back- to the Barracks?"

  • uh america doesnt leave men behind, you either come home alive or in a bag...

  • Alexi my favorite character you died too soon!

  • love the subtle details that they included such as the searchlights from the battlecruisers... hope SC2 lives up to this masterpiece

  • I love how they threw a reference to Apocalypse Now in that clip.

  • I feel sad for the people left behind. i would have shot at the battle cruiser with the bazooka when they were leaving.

  • this cinematic is very realistic.

It shows what happens during a war: the high rank generals staying secure drinking...smoking and earing music when privates are slaugthered in the frontlines...

  • @ShinXari that stuff only happens with russians. the united states has a higher standard of honor and does not abandon their brethren on the battlefield. go play some starcraft 2.

  • Already playing it in the beta. And i wasn't talking about the USA... but of war in general... In every period of history....sorry if i've hurt your nationalism.

  • @ShinXari its cool man.

  • @noobsmasher123 Yeah, I'm pretty sure we left a ton of boys behind in Vietnam, and nuked a few in Nagasaki (and I'm sure some were in Dresden and other places we bombed). And don't forget the USS Juneau, and other ship survivors we left to drown to continue military ops. I'm not passing judgement necessarily, but I'm pointing out that our country has done the same stuff that we like the accuse only our "enemies" of doing.

  • @IneptTroopr ....yeah. cause americans were totally nuked in nagasaki. it was all shits and giggles untill the big bad americans came and nuked the fuck out of japanese and american alike. and oh no! some soldiers died in war!! what ever will we do!! its not like war kills people!! OH GOD. seriously quit it. youre not getting anywhere.

  • @noobsmasher123 I never said whether it was right or wrong, I was just pointing out the notion that "America never leaves anyone behind" is a myth.

  • @IneptTroopr its not meant to be taken literally. in war its kinda hard to keep track of every damn thing and people are going to get left behind. its meant to say that if we can help it, we put ourselves in harms way to save them.

  • @noobsmasher123 These weren't the UED's troops, they were colonists they were sent to conquer anyways.

  • @ShinXari Do you realize how much you have to accomplish to earn it and be high rank general?

  • @ShinXari You speak as if you were in a war. Stop regurgitating cheap war movie stereotypes.

  • @ShinXari

Alexei Stukov gave his life to serve the UED's mission in the Koprulu sector. He wasn't afraid of dying and did what he believed was right to win agaisn't the Zerg : Securing and activing the Psi Dispruptor.

  • @ShinXari you simply don't get it.

The admirals in the battlecruisers are not terrans from the Koprulu sector. They are the UED forces coming long way from Earth to conquer the whole sector. They have no reason to take care of the colonists or any other terrans.

  • @john10235 ok ok you're right.... i've understood it lol.

  • @john10235 they should have help cause they are trying to claim the colonies in the name of earth so helping them=they let them claim them=there ued mission complete

  • @IsArtanisAzn Instead of watching the scene in coincidence and deciding not to help them cecause of cold blood, it seems that the Admiral DELIBERATELY unleashed zerg to the colony as a "weapon test" (in order to let Alexi realize the destructive powers of the zerg).

  • @john10235 oh

somewhere i read say they just found zerg attacking some colony but ok :P

  • @ShinXari generals must have a clear mind and must be safe so they can give wise orders, in owr days generals stay in underground bunkers along with other high rank ppl to discuss bullcrap

  • @ShinXari Dude do you even get whats in the video. The marines are belong to the dominion, not UED

  • @ShinXari Few things wrong with this. First, I doubt any self respecting general in real life would drink alcohol and light up while trying to direct a battle. You realize no one would embarass themselves like that in front of their staff, right? There's also more than one example in history of a general leading a charge into enemy gunfire; Napoleon at Arcole, is one. Second, in this clip that admiral was not in command of those men. They are from different, non-allied factions. Just FYI for all

  • @dropbearvictim If you've played Starcraft 1, you should know that most of the generals there are pictured as self-loving bastards that would sell their own mothers skin to save their own.

  • @ShinXari high ranking generals started off as privates and worked harder than their peers to reach their rank. Most generals have fought in wars on the frontlines. Some are promoted and forced off of the front lines because their strategy in war is so good that the army doesn't want them to die. Not every general is like the gay ass pansies you see on tv or in movies. Grow up and learn something about the army before you make comments about it. Otherwise you're just ignorant.

  • @boredwan

    Wrong.

Generals come from those who finished a military academy, not footsloggers.

  • @boredwan You play Call of Duty, don't you? A Private is an enlisted rank of the military; a commissioned rank like General is completely different. Privates who get promoted under the enlisted rank system will never get promoted to General unless they are commissioned under special circumstances; these usually make the best military leaders. Generals that are promoted from Lieutenants through a military academy know little to nothing about war and front-line combat.

  • @crazy4sian I used to play it yeah but that doesn't change that my grandfather was a captain in the army and that I had to learn all this crap when I joined the Air Training Corps. Basically a youth group version of the RAF.

I do know that a great deal of generals are promoted just because of an exam but some ARE promoted for other reasons. I was being very specific when Iwas saying that generals were frontline fighters before. There are generals that have been on the frony line.

  • @boredwan Back in the older wars, probably, but today's E-1 will never make it to an O-10. Today's officers have their heads so far up in the clouds that they couldn't tell a phone jack from a power outlet (I'm not kidding), and the enlisted side is still paying for their incompetence.

In closing, prior-enlisted officers make the best kinds of leaders because they know both sides of the military, but usually don't stay around long enough because of the sh*t they have to deal with.

  • That black dude's a fucking noobtuber. NOOBTUBER. And a camper. Omg. Those zerglings totally would've had that guy... Omg, killstealer, KILLSTEALER.

  • "yes... i am prepared to go all the way... my good admiral.." lol i thought he wa gonna smoke weed like he was gonna go high or something

  • What does he say?

"take us back into orbit Mr. Mountenstein" ? something like that?

  • "Take us back to orbit Mr. Mountenstein, we've seen enough"

  • they better put that grenade luancher on the maines in sc2. when i first played this and saw the intro i thought id be able to resaerch it. but i never found it. :`(

  • No way! Just imagine the opposite was true, your marines runs out of ammo.

    Ha ha!

  • Jeez. This cinematic is the reason I tried to keep EVERY SINGLE UNIT alive as much as possible. xD

  • HAHA u do that too...!!??? i allways work alot keeping everyone alive, never let anyone behind defense line, and i never get them out on offense unless, im shure most of em, or all are coming back to base safe lol

thats why when i play protoss i allways try to posses an SCV to build terran tecnology and get a few medics, to cure my injured warriors, but im not as carefull with the lower zerg units :P

best cinematic ever by the way!

  • Man that ending was fucked up.

Sucks to be in a trench full of zerglings.

  • looks like starship troopes but better

  • by far the best starcraft cinematic ever (except for the wasteland patrol one maybe, lol)

  • marines got no aim.

  • They should make a Starcraft movie, with the kind of CGI technology today, it would be epic!

  • Those marines have terrible aim. Sucks to be him.

  • lol, that one guy was just chillen, listening to his music.

  • love the christmas lights on his armor

  • The colonists' base will be overrun in a matter of minutes. Shall we intervene?

Take us into Orbit, we've seen enough.

It was so cold and calculated that I fell in love.

  • @XChrisUnknownX Yeah, it made the UED look cold blooded and indifferent to the plight of others while sentencing the colonists on the ground fighting for their lives to death..... I can only imagine what that Marine looking at the battlecruiser leaving orbit must've thought, what despair was going through his mind at being abandoned.....

  • always loved the music for this intro

  • is this full game of starcraft brood war !

  • at 0:48 i think only even 1 rocket can blow both of em

  • "whos in charge here!!?"

    *bum!! bang!! machine gun firing*

    "where is the air suport!!?"

i never get tired to this intro, its perfect..

    real war atmosphere.

  • then you will like Apacolypse Now that's where they get this from....

  • im sure i will like it, once it just get it to dvd.

  • this is 10 years old dude lol

  • Apacolypse Now is 40 years old... watch the movie... the music, the lights, the combat, the trench, the black soldier with the grenade launcher... even the same question... Who is in charge here? In the movie though the answer is freakin hilarious...

  • Apocalypse Now was released in 1979-so that would make it 30 years old, not 40.

  • they actually was making a fps game, but they cancled it, dont know why is was called starcraft chost og something like that

  • why they cancelled it

  • i wish they cn made a fps game out of this

we cn be the marine and shot hte zergs or be the protoss and zerg killing the terran...

  • fps format, 3 races. you know what that reminds me, aliens vs predator.

  • It did?Well,I just wanted it etter than AVP...u can fight from zergling and mutated into ultralisk!!

  • Honestly I'm kind of surprised that people only think this is a bunch of zerglings attacking. Sure they are the main focus but people forget to look at the skies to see the nigh endless stream of Guardians flying overhead. That firebat didn't blow up from nothing!

  • which cinematics was this in?

  • In fact he isn't, sorry for the misstatement, he was infested, and then brought back to normal thanks to Raynor and Taldarin injecting a nanotech serum into him.

  • I loved Stukov's personnality and voice, too bad he is dead...

  • apocalypse now!

  • in this game earth become an evil empire, invaded the alien planet and occupy it, while other game or movie show earth as weak, primitive and easy to conquer.... i hope many game or film portray earth as bad guy while alien as good guy.

  • Yes, they were, but it is a good game. There are still plenty of 16bit graphic console games I'd play today they were just good games.

  • air support is a coward! and whats with the blast shields and im recreating this cine on roblox! trying my best

  • 3:18 Epic sound.

  • lol they could have saved them wow and blast shields and who the heck wasthe guy with rockets i have this and im like who is that unit?

  • the black dude? randomly sitting listening to music??? i dunno i was thinking the same thing, first i thought it coulda been a ghost but the fact that it wasn't being epic and stealth drove me to the conclusion that it was a normal marine... plus the random rockets:P

  • Well if you take a look at 1:06, you can clearly see smoke coming from the sitting marine's rifle, suggesting he was the one firing

  • Pretty sure that was kind of a reference to Apocalypse Now.

  • I'm assuming the UED were either the ones who owned the colony or at least had a protectorate over it. Thenagain, I could be radically wrong. :P

  • u could be but i like ur assumption

  • The black guy response to "where is the air support" suggest that he was part of the UED. Or like you said, it was a protectorate of it. He (Black Marine) knew either way that ship could have helped them out. However he also knew (guess through experience) that their position was hopeless and that if the ship was going to assist it would have done so already. So he was simply waiting to die. Not surrendering just a choice to die comfortable and at peace rather than with his weapon firing.

  • At 0:06 you can hear something like the attack of a photon cannon or dragoon.

  • nah thats the zerg screamin or w/e they do. its like the zerglings that just hatched

  • DuGalle probably promised the marines airsupport but he just doesn't help them.

  • who's colony was that

  • i so freakin love this game, i play it since i was kid. ghost is my fav character there

  • the down fall is that it showed you a marine luanching grenades, and if you look at the marine gun it has grenade luancher. but yea the gohst unit kicks ass. >:D

  • the guy is like, "another day at the office"

  • WHERES THE AIR SUPORT?

    ...

the guy tht responds is just like:IN THE AIR U DUMBASS

  • lool you make mah day XD

  • This intro is so badass! best cinematic in the game.

  • how can a zergling chop through that heavy armor??? I mean the claws are only bone right?? its not so possible

  • bones have varying densities. Maybe the zerg had evolved to such a super high extent that their bones could cut through armor.

  • Oh it's possible my friend, it's possible...

Zerg are Biological War Machines. And those Colonial Marines don't seem to be wearing the most improved armor...

  • Most of us have played SC/SCBW. Plus most of us have read many of the books. If we ran into a race like this tomorrow, we would be under prepared. Our baseline military technology would be adequate but our troops would need to develop NBA armor. Remember even in the novels and game manuals (online and paper) a troopers expected lifespan is not that much. Lets say we developed artificial gravity, FLT drives tomorrow. We would be basically where humans are in the SC Univer.

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah, all it would take would be one bullet or anything like that to blow the whole thing up.

  • why did the shi abandon?

  • i thought fire bats used 2 flame throwers not one

  • I always argued... who is the guy resting? is it another marine? and if so where did he get the rocket launcher?

  • It was just the underslung RPG launcher on the Gauss rifle. The other guy was probably just out.

  • hope the UED comes back in SC2. they were awesome, a lot better than playing for the terran dominion.

  • You Have to Feel sorry for those two marines in the trench at the end they dont stand a chance against a 100 zurg

  • The opening park in the trenches totally alludes to Apocalypse Now.

  • thank you, i knew the scene was familiar but i couldnt place it.

  • Did you heard him "UNLEASHING ZERG ON MEN IS DIFFERENT". UNLEASH. The bastard released those zerg on the colony on purpose!!

  • Yeah thanks its obvious hes a dirty bastard and im glad both of them are dead...

  • Stukov ain't dead. He got infested and then was cured by the Protoss with experimental nano machines. It's all on a secret mission ;)

  • on the n64, because the pc secret mission deals with the Protoss/Zerg hybrids.

  • and the n64 one was a waist of good resorces, very few even refer back to it. Stick with the PC version.

  • first of all, dont go telling me to stick with the pc version. i got both games the day they came out. and still have the disc from that day. 2nd, i was mentioning the N64 since it had more secret missions than the PC version which to my knowledge only had the mission which you played with zeratul and uncovered the Protoss/Zerg hybrids. and the 64 version was trill. so get ya mind correct.

  • rly SprtnMstrChief117 ?

  • yes really. wtf your talking about i have no idea but yea really.

  • Hmm? can we still see the goliats and voltures in ST2?

  • What the heck happened to the firebat? all I saw was a boom and the firebat flying.

  • I love the Terran. Too bad that Duran is an old stupid bastard. By the way...is the guy who blew up the zergling a ghost or a marine?

  • He was a Marine, apparently their guns have Grenade launchers.

  • hmm...too bad that the marines in the actual game can't blow up a zergling or hydralisk with one shot. I heard that the firebats in Starcraft2 have pyro rockets. I'm itching to try them out on a horde of zerglings

  • "Whats the name of the music in Commodore room?"

don don - long playing i think, at least thats the name i found it by on the net ... so i guess (!)

  • dumb dugalle. hes bashing the zerg for attacking man while his marines are down there getting slaughtered while he does nothing. stukov should be admiral

  • Its not their marines dude. But a colonial militai. DuGalle had a few Cruisers go on overwatch while the zerg overran the colony. Dugalle prolly had thousands of marines on standby had he wanted to intervene but they just went away and let the colony be destroyed to the last man.

  • who owned the colony?

  • U dont get it do you?? It's a Terran Dominion border colony. The UED armada by that time is already on Terran Space but DuGalle decided to show Stukov the terror and reality of facing the zerg, show Stukov that what they face is a horrific enemy, that once the Armada moves in to attack, there's no going home unless they completely succeed in beating the Zerg, pacifying the Terrans and keeping the Protoss out. Which the UED didn't. And so they got slaugthered to the last man and woman.

  • true but you forgot to mention that DuGalle(the commander of the ship) was the one that released the zerg on the Dominion colony, JUST to examine their destructive abilities

  • That is speculation. But think about this, the UED armada just entered hostile space but is still undetected. That same hostile space is infested already by billions of zerg. So why the hell would he unleash zerg on a colony when he could simply pick a remote colony under siege by the zerg and show it to his officers and soldiers as a live demonstration regarding the severity of their mission.

  • It was basically a live show of how efficient a killing machine the Zerg is and the stakes the UED Armada faces once they move in into the center of the Korpulu Sector.

  • Yep. Exactly right.

  • Man, as a kid I thought that was the most bad ass intro on earth and even today I still think it is. It made me want to pretend in the missions where I was winning that I would be flying a cruiser over the ruins of my enemies and drinking vodka while smoking a cigar and listening to maybe the russian national anthem because it's pretty bad ass too.

However, I think Duran could have easily saved that colony if he had wanted to but I guess that's the kind of arrogance which leads to his demise.

  • Stukov was revived. And Duran isnt there!

Gerard Dugaulle and Alexi stukov are the ones in the intro.Duran was a nigga.

  • I like the position of the Zergling when his buddy gets blown up.

  • Whats the name of the music in Commodore room ?

  • The music is "morituri te salutant" which is what gladiators used to say to the emperor before being slaughtered at the roman circus. It means "we, those who are about to die, salute you".

  • are you sure , cuz i searched on youtube but didnt find it
