Do not seal @ the bottom of the toilet bowl!!! The toilet bowl needs to breath (common mistake). Also if you have a leak, you will not know if it is leaking due to the sealant.
Glad to see him recommend putting the wax on the flange first rather than on the toilet. like all the included instructions say.
Another good tip I got from a plumber was to use plumbers' putty underneath the tank bolts. This helps to eliminate all those initial pesky leaks when you first fill the tank. It saves the trouble of constantly tightening the nut and hoping you don't crack the tank.
All the employees that comment posatively on this video got an extra 5 minute break or free lunch. I swear that this video was uploaded 2x because I watched it yesterday with a different discription. It said what the vested guy says about the job not being messy.
Also, skip the step that involves cramming an old rag N the crap hole by having everything new ready to install. the rag'll probably fall N any way.

this is a cement floor in the bathroom and upon removing the old toilet, there is no metal plate. I removed the rusty bolts from the cement. What do you advise? I am thinking that a metal plate may raise the toilet. There is a 40-year-old 4" cast iron pipe just level with the cement.
To Puna2go I just went through the same thing. At a local parts store, Home depot or lowes and they have a plastic flange that will fit inside the old iron piping and it has rubber seal around it to seal to the pipe. Then you will need to drill some holes where they need to go into the cement and secure it with cement screws. Good luck hope this helps!!!
The flange bolts may dislodge from the slots. Fasten them to the flange with a nut. In winter I warm the wax ring with a hair dryer before seating the bowl. I alwyas install the bowl and tank separately and test flush with a bucket of water in case the wax ring did not seal properly.
I am going full steam ahead as soon as possable. I have a ship themed bathroom with a life preserver mirror, handmade (Wife) Jolly roger shower curtain, helm's stearing wheel on back of door, ect... Just need to wood plank the floor out & paint the walls a darker blue than my wife frigged up.

How bout the LOWES associate saving his hot air and dont tell me how to do Fix my toilet and get his ass behind a cash register so i dont have to fuck with that self check out BS
Fyi: dont put silicone all the way around because if it starts leaking in the future you will not know and will be looking at replacing the floor or worse, depending what floor its on
@toinfintyandbeyond1 when i was replacing my second toilet it was impossible to get the rusted bolts and nuts off so i just took a hammer and shattered the porcelain to get the toilet off.. safety glasses came in handy there
thanks :)

i wouldnt put calking around the bottom of the toilet. If it does leak, all the water would go all over the ceiling of the floor below.
