  • funny sweet and loving episode,i liked archie in this one.

  • wow!!!! how refreshing it is to see Scottie MacGregor in a different kind of role from Mrs Olsen!!!! Although Mrs Olsen was my fav character on LHOTP!!! What a great lady she is! :)

  • It just breaks my heart to read all these mean-hearted comments. Everybody liked Sally Struthers until she got 'fat.' After that everyone dismissed her as being of lower character than lesser-quality, however thinner, actors. Good or bad, she's still the same person regardless of what she looks like. So sad. I'll never understand the (apparently inherent) human need to hate others on the basis of their appearance alone.

  • The Nurse is Harriet Oleson on Little House on the Prairie.

  • @capcentre Just figured that out!!! Love Katherine (Scotty) McGregor. She's a lot nicer in real life than she ever was on Little House. :)

  • The woman playing the nurse...I only caught a glimpse... But wasn't she the actor that played the news reporter who came to the house when Edith saved someone's life, or something? Archie was wearing his Disney World shirt and wanted to be on TV, but the reporter didn't want to hear anything from or about Archie.

  • pull the wolf over my eyes. lol

  • A woman today would be very lucky if she could find a man who truly loved her like Archie loved Edith. Watch the "Archie Bunker's Place" episode "Edith's death" if you doubt it. It's on youtube.

  • THE WILL NEVER EVER BE ANYTHING LIKE THIS AGAIN NEVER, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES

  • interesting how they threw a little 'dingbat' into the touching moment with the broken ankle.

  • i think so

  • the nurse in edith`s room..thats mrs.olson from "little house".Her ass is bigger in little house though, lol

  • @IwontConform OMG that was Mrs. Olson! I knew I recognized her!

  • hey,look at the nurse in edith`s room..thats mrs.olson from "little house"

  • @IwontConform yeah i didn't recognize here because she looks so skinny here!

  • @IwontConform mean i didn't recognize that mrs. olson looks skinny here!

  • I always tear up too when I watch this one. Junkyard has done a GREAT job posting these. I HATE cancer. I watched it kill my Dad almost 25 years ago. The only good thing that came out of it is that the parisitic disease also went when he did. It was horrible watching that. Like think I said on part two's post, CHECK yourselves. Early detection is VERY important. My next older sister found that out and was taken care of. This is a very touching, well done episode.

  • Greatest show and cast ever, could make you laugh and cry in a moment's notice - brilliant and never to be done again.

  • i wonder if visits started to go up to cancer clinics and more women went to their doctors because of this

  • THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS FANTASTIC SHOW

    "mynjunkyard"

  • you can tell archie loves her by the way he looks at her... no matter what an ass hole he is to her :):)

  • its mrs olsen!

  • Good writing and good acting are timeless...AITF had both, and as such it'll be watched decades from now. Plus, it was so "outrageous" for the times.....who talked about breast cancer on a "comedy" TV series in the mid seventies? This series was years ahead of its time. I mean, it's just after "Green Acres" and the "Beverly Hillbillies" were No. 1 on TV.

  • All in the Family was the first television show to raise many taboo subjects, such as breast cancer, rape, menopause and miscarriage. It was a landmark series in many ways in addition to being one of the funniest shows ever. Great writing and a great cast.

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I have been telling my 20-yr-old son about AITF for a long time, and this is the one I'm going to show him. It's perfect because my mother has just had a lumpectomy.

  • I love when Mike gets flustered and blurts out things to cover (a nice combo of very good writing and acting). "I told you nothing. Wanna play checkers?" (0:15)

  • the fact is, archie is rough most of the time but deep down inside he really does love edith. very touching ending.

  • I swore this cold hearted dude brought tears to my eyes

  • Archie IS a jerk but, is he really? Maybe, not.

  • @aviationwingnut THE JERK WAS MIKE....ARCHIE WAS RIGHT FROM DAY ONE LATER ONE MIKE AND GLORIA BROKE UP! LOL

  • @ITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ Yes, that's right. I remember it being later in the series after they'd moved out to California.

  • @aviationwingnut THATS PROB WHY SALLY BLEW UP TOO 600 POUNDS LOL SHE WAS PRETTY GOOD LOOKING IN THESE SHOWS...SUCH A SHAME...

  • @ITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ LOL. Oh, come on Italy.....maybe 300. Okay, she HAD gotten a lot bigger but, to me, she still has that kinda "Gloria cuteness" even at 60+. I've often wondered why that happens to people..... other than middle age, maybe. Seems to me, that every ounce I put on makes it like trying to lose TEN to get of that one. She sure did have a nice figure back in those days. Not too skinny, not too beefy.

  • @aviationwingnut LOL SHE MUST OF GAINED IT WHEN SHE WENT TO HELP FEED THE CHILDREN AND BY ACCIDENT ATE A COUPLE LOL....

  • @ITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ Well, never can tell. For all anyone knows, she might've been trying to beat a weight problem for life. One thing that really made her gain my respect and admiration was a letter she wrote to the public about her and her sis's struggle with their mother while the woman was enduring Alzheimer's. I wonder if that had something to do with her getting bigger? Some people use food for comfort, I think. The last time I saw my ex-wife, she was pitiful she'd gotten SO big.

  • @aviationwingnut yess it is a shame and what do the big women do of it today?..they promote their fat at sleezy bbw parties the call it dancing lol....they should be all band bbw parties nothing but sex hook ups...gross

  • @ITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ That's true. Some of them do. And, there's guys who go for it. More power to them. I just figure that, IF I ever end up re-marrying, I'll know when it's right. I gave up 'looking' long ago. Found out the hard way that looking only gets you the same - just looking a bit differently.

  • @aviationwingnut YEAH PEOPLE TODAY ARENT THE SAME...TO MUCH INFO IS ONLINE...DATTING GOT SO BAD SINCE WE GOT THE INTERNET ALL THE LIARS AND CHEATERS COME TO PRAY ON THE NET...AND NOW WITH TEXTING YOU CAN NEVER FULLY TRUST PEOPLE TODAY YOU DONT KNOW WHO THEY TALKING TOO ON THE CELL...I HATE TEXTING...TOO MANY STUPID PEOPLE STILL TEXT AND DRIVE....

  • @ITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ Generally true but, truthfully I think that the liars, cheaters, etc have always been there. It's just easier for them with the Internet. I don't have texting. I've had my first cell phone for a bit over 3 years and that's one option I didn't want. have never sent one in my life - and have zero desire to. I think the use of anything handheld/portable needs to be completely banned when driving. Some states have already banned it.

  • @aviationwingnut ya New York has banned it while driving.

  • @ITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ whoa calm down before you piss yourself

  • @ITALIANJRZYGUYNNJ aahhhh but they broke up because Gloria cheated... and Archie said Mike was too good for HER.

  • Love it thanx 4 posting

  • I loved this episode. Archie was so sweet with Edith in this episode.
