GREAT work! The image quality is great for youtube and the direction/framing is great too! What settings/codec and format did you use to upload? I've been trying to get a clean crisp upload like this on youtube for months now. Size, format (.flv?), bitrate, key frame rate, etc. Thanks for any help that you can offer!
in fcp i just exported using quicktime conversion then clicked options then settings under the video section. Then turned down the quality of the video to a little above medium. It really doesnt affect the quality much and it takes a lot of the file size off. also if you search google for youtube compression settings there is a guy who made a setting file for compressor that will also do the trick but a little better quality.
did yuo have any particular lense or attachment on the camera at around 31 seconds (whe nthe car drives up). Looks great. What settings were you using?
On the car shot I color corrected with final cut's 3 way and increased the blacks and tweaked the midtones a little. The exact settings for all the footage are DL -2, VDL 0, DC 0, CL -7, CP -7, CT -4(not sure on this one), MP -10, AIL +2, cine-like gamma, norm matrix, skin tone dtl off, and 24pA. Its the same as the Neo setting on the dvx dvd. I like it so i havent changed it since i got it. Hope that helps.
Lol. I know how you feel.
The 24p is amazing aint it?

well it looks good nonetheless. my DVX100 just arrived in the mail this morning, so I guess I'll have to put some stuff up as I shoot.

Oh i also have a .5x wide angle on up to about 35 seconds.

Does that account for the slightly curved feel, as far as the perspective goes? At least on that car shot.

ya probably. It also was blurry around the edges in the first few shots because i was zoomed in to far.
