Whoever titled this video is clueless. (A) It is not a how-to. (B) He could not have been more clear - this is NOT Judo - it's illegal in Judo. It is Ju Jitsu.
@BandakaKush yeah small joint locks/manipulations are illegal in judo competition but they are incorporated into judo for self defense use on the street
Great how he say's that wristlocks in competition are illegal, my close friend had this happen to him about a year ago or so...So quick and his wrist snapped like a twig.
the throw was really poor in technique. With that throw you have to be ruthless and precise as most people who are trying to steal your wallet won't go down that easy.
I like Judo more for the martial side, sure id go to a few competitions if i got good enough but Judo should always be a martial art first and a sport second in my opinion.
old school Judo had everyhting from Judo, including strikes, which were preserved in kata. however, judoka went against what jigoro kano said not to: focus too much on competition.
@bloodizraw He's not demonstrating how to apply an armbar, he's explaining the locks that are allowed in Judo competitions. You completely missed the point, Sherlock.
an informative video no doubt but maybe change the title? I clicked on this in the hope of seeing some wrist-lock technique

Rolled with this guy not too long ago, he's a pretty good Purple Belt in BJJ with a crazy base, didn't know he was a TMA guy too.

These videos seem more like "how not to do" than "how to do".

I'm glad someone is concerned about the safety and regulations with this technique. Just don't do it.
