Just to clarify one point. The Quran didn't see Alexander as a devil, but named him the two-horned king due to a crown he wore upon his head. It bore the two horns signifying his relationship with the Egyptian God Amun. The Quran glorified Alexander by saying he was appointed by God himself as a great leader of the world. He was one of God's favorites. Hope that helped. Thank you!
@mbmprophecy4 can you give me the passage of the quran that glorified him??and if he is held in such high esteam by islam i must of been hearing things by the muslim people saying they would love to kill him with their bare hands if he was hear now.
"And they ask thee about Dhu’l Qarnain. Say, ‘I will certainly recite to you something of his story.’"(Dhu'l Qarnain translates to the two-horned) "We established him in the earth and gave him the means to accomplish everything. Then he followed a certain way." ---I will skip a story about Gog and Magog and the wall he built to conceal their harm from humanity---"Thus indeed it was. Verily, We encompassed with Our knowledge all that was with him." Hope that helps.
@mbmprophecy4 so dhu'l qarnian is actually alexander the in the quran,that seems to me that they stole the legend of alexander renamed it in their book to pass it that some one of the islamic faith was capable of such greatness,everyone else knew him as alexander why would they name him different otherwise??
@lockateard17 Actually, if you listened carefully to this documentary, you would have noticed that many cultures across the world, starting from Macedonia to Afghanistan, named him the two-horned king. Dhu'l Qarnain is merely an Arabic translation meaning the same thing. If you've noticed the part about the Turkmans, in this documentary, they named him the two-horned king as well. They even used sign language denoting that very fact. Islam didn't steal anything.
@lockateard17 There's more---basically, the mere mentioning of the two-horned king in he Quran was a privilege in itself. It usually didn't mention people unless they were of great significance. "He replied, ‘The power with which my Lord has endowed me about this is better, but you may help me with physical strength; I will set up between you and them a rampart."
@yanar89 Hey Yanar89...to tell the truth, I don't know.
Most scholars suspect that theory, but no one is ever sure.
It could and couldn't be him. In my opinion, he is not.
The Quran describes Zulqarnain as being a pious person and a monotheist. In this documentary, Alexander claims to being the son of Ra. I highly doubt it.
I admire our GREEK history and of course the 100% GREEK man ALEXANDER THE GREAT!!! The facts is fact and no one can delete our true story as it is thrοugh all these years!!! So... all GREEKS all over the world keep our history alive and your spirit strong as the greek man ALEXANDER THE GREAT!!!
Man is still living with animalistic and sadist mentality.....thats why conquerors by war like alexander are being glorified as gods.....he should be disgusted upon for his bloodbaths and killing.....instead of cursing him ,modern humans worship him......that the level of our civilization.....and the conquerors by love like BUDDHA are being cornered.......thats the reason of the current state of our world
stupid greeks aleksander kill all greeks , but h glory hahahahhaha mother fucker . macedonia for the macedonians forever and united macedonia , vardar , pirin aegean will be one united macedonia that is new name for nato mother fucker
There are other reports in history that say certain high Egyptians spoke and wrote Greek. Was Greek language widespread in Egypt prior to the Ptolemaic Greeks period?
The Greek language widespread in Egypt only just after Alexander the Great conquest Egypt(until then was under the Persian empire), Alexander founded the city Alexandria that became the capital city in his Empire and the center of Greek culture at that time.
After Alexander's death his empire break to separately kingdoms and Ptolemy (a great general under Alexander) created the Ptolemaic Greco-Egyptian kingdom.
Greeks were very quick to adopt Egyptian customs and culture so Egypt was sort of a hybrid nation at the time, best of both worlds. The Greece-Egypt relationship throughout history was always pretty unique, Greeks weren't seen as hated conquerors or oppressors in Egypt as the Persians were.
No Greek was not that widespread in Egypt prior to the Greek conquest, I dont find it suprising that certain Egyptian high priests wrote & spoke Greek. The Greeks have been having good relationships with Egypt since the times of the Minoan trading. Greeks went to Egypt very often, example Solon who was told about Atlantis. Even the Athenians sent an expedition to help the Egyptian revolt against Persia. There was even a Greek trading colony on the Nile called Naupaktis.

it wasnt widespread, but the upper class and specifically the religious elite came into contact with Greeks on a yearly basis, thus learning Greek.
