I had this on the C64 back in the day, and I think this port was actually the best of them all, and the most playable. It ran similar to the Sega version, having a selection of cars, no drunk drivers, dodging Stay Puft to get into the building, and you didn't have the stairwell section at all, you just crossed the streams at the portal to win. The upgrades were actually worth it, though the traps looked like burgers if I remember right. Shame you were subjected to the NES port.

So the Nes game was just a direct port with a slightly more advanced engine. That explains it. It shares the same fate as Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. Arcade ports on NES.

@piguy314159 He probably used the cheat code for more money out of frustration in the last review he used codes to make himself immune to the ghosts on the stairs in the Zuul building, sinde it was like 20 something floors high and you could only take 3 hits before dying AND had to mash the A button just to move he may have also put in money codes to save time since it's repetitive and frustrating.

New Ghost Busters 2 (Europe and Japan only) was a great game, though. It had not four, but five ghostbusters (fifth one was, actually, Louis), all of them were named an given decent 8-bit representation (Yeah, Whinston was green, but that was NES limitations, so that was okay.) and gameplay was simple, but good top-down action. A for shootin' proton pack to stun ghost, B for catch stunned ghost. Yeah, one-hit-kill, but you had 3 lives and 3 continues. And the whole game was actually a GOOD one!
