  • Is it just me or is Konnan really out of place?

  • Say what you want, But I have started to believe that the whole Montreal "screwjob" was all one big work.

  • @MrMolmem

You know what, I kind of have to agree. Vince broke the contract, allowed Bret to go to WCW and make tremendous money, Vince created the "Mr. McMahon" character, Owen received a push which unfortunately didn't last long, Shawn became a full blown heel & who knows how that would have gone if he wasn't injured at Royal Rumble '98, it worked out for many people, creatively and financially.

  • @SpocksEvilKlone I just worked out Way too smoothly. Are we supposed to honestly believe that Vince is going to allow 1. the cameras go crazy behind the scenes? 2. Let himself be filmed while being punched by one of his employees? No way, I don't buy it.

  • Rick Rude deserves Hall of Fame. The man was Intercontinental Champion. Some Hall of Famers never won a title in the WWE.

  • WOW holy fuck 5:15 when i heard that man wrestling was badass back then i remember but i was a lil jimmy :( wish i was older so i can enjoy it more damn wrestling was the shet back then i miss the crazy old days

  • damn rick rud had shit loads of charisma!

  • raw was taped at that time not live. ever raw wasn't live but nitro forced them to be live every week.

  • did bret really get all of the 7.5mil?

  • RIP Rick Rude & Curt Hennig. I hope Scott Hall gets his act together before he joins them.

  • god rude was so great on the mic...hol y fuck, respect the man

  • @piro4351 This is without a doubt his greatest promo ever, and one of the best promos in Wrestling History.Guys today (With Exception to CMPunk) just don't know how to cut a damn good promo that garners attention.

  • 4 life or untill your contract expires or get kicked out LOL

  • It's a damn shame Rude got hurt. He was, by all accounts, one of the most "stand-up" guys in wrestling. If he had never gotten hurt, he would have ruled the "Attitude Era" and probably would have been as respected in WWE, and wrestling in general, as the Undertaker.

    A shame indeed.

  • I know I've said it a thousand times, but I'll say it again: GET RICK RUDE INTO THE WWE HALL OF FAME!!!! AS IN, NOW!!!

  • the problem with this was, rude did a two minute shoot on wwf...great stuff. then as always, it became about Hogan, and the shock factor disappeared. he should have done a whole segment.

  • nWo are the original bad guys to get cheered by the fans..

  • Bischoff was so proud of himself

  • lots of people threatened to quit the wwe over bret hart, rick rude actually did quit the wwe over bret hart.

  • @wrestlingjoey Yeah I remember that. Crush quit also

  • @wrestlingjoey I remember that, Crush, Neidhart and Bulldog quit also. It's amazing what happened to WCW less than 4 yrs after this. They wasted a lot of money, booking sad ass matches. Some of them tried to come back to the WWE and were shells of their former selves. the rest fell off the face of the earth. Less than 2 yrs after this Ravishing Rick Rude died of heart failure. RIP Rick Rude

  • Rick Rude was the man and WCW was better than WWF, but WWF was 1000 times better than the shit WWE crap these days.

  • Oh, Monday Night Wars, how I miss thee.

1997 = Greatest Year in Professional Wrestling History

  • This was GREAT!! I miss those days!!

  • its funny how vincent is never mentioned lol

  • NWO was the greatist thing to ever happen to wrestling.

  • look it at that wet back konan when wcw went down did vince ask him to join hell no fcker couldint draw a crowd if his life depended on it fckn scrub wrestler everytime he was in tha ring in wcw was all talk sayin hes all a big gangster an then when he got in tha ring he just got beat up lmao fckn peice of shyt WETBACK hahaha

  • @NativexViper lol ur garbage. konan drew outside of U.S. he was never going to get a push with the racism in wcw back then. OH YEAH, KONAN TAUGHT BRET HART THE SHARPSHOOTER.

  • Great OMG moment and that was 13 years ago now!!

  • its no secret that sting ended rick rudes correer its on you tube sting ended ricks correer rick HATED STING

  • So, what were Hall & Nash's thoughts on Rude's speech? Anyone know? Sorry if this has been answered already, but I'm being too lazy to look it up. :)

  • thats why vince hasnt put rude in hall of fame he made him mad going to wcw

  • @RATT98 What Vince took it personal? He'd put HHH in the HOF before Rude! Hahahaha!

  • 3 disliked this, I bet those people are the Mcmahon family, Vince, Shane and Stephanie.

WCW/NWO 4-life. Great times, best era of wrestling. Hollywood was so great as a heel, hilliarious, The Outsiders ruled the tag team titles, they were all kicking ass and taking names.

    Bischoff = Genious.

  • Once again an unexplained angle?

I mean rick rude practically kissed hbk ass while in wwf, but here talks negative about him, and why did nash not try to stop rude?

  • When Rick Rude joined NWO, did he actually wrestle, or was he just a manager?

  • nWo fears Chuck Norris

  • He should've cut a promo on Sting, vowing revenge for his career ending back injury.

  • rick rude left the wwf and shoots on vince and shawn in regards of what happen to his best friend bret hart. its no wonder bret was so grateful to rick. he was one of bret's real friend.

  • @hellas04gavros7 I don't believe Rick Rude particularly liked the idea of having to align with DX,but what other capacity was Vinnie Mac going to put him in since Rude couldn't wrestle anymore.Actually,Shawn,HHH,Chyna,& weren't yet called DX when Rude returned to the WWF.

  • @landrykkb how did Rick Rude pass away?

  • @youcantfoolme99 Rick Rude had dropped dead of a heart attack on his front step,or it was at least a heart attack.

  • The fact that Rick Rude is not in the WWE Hall Of Fame is just plain bogus. Stop the madness, get him in for 2011!!

  • Hogans nothing but a professional wanker he always has to steal the limelight from other wrestlers the guys a fuckin joke

  • All they did was promote the WWF. By mentioning Shawn Michaels and him being champ and then talking about Vince in a bad way just promoted the Mr McMahon character he was starting to build. This just contributed to the ratings win 7 months later by the WWF.

  • Don't have a go at me cos im nto 100% sure. But did rick rude go to WCW because of the Montreal screwjob and he just thought it was out of order what they did to Bret?

  • Bret Hart "abandoning the Titanic", huh? Kind of ironic.

  • What an Awesome Promo from the late Rick Rude. It's a shame Hogan had to hog up the moment.

  • you can hear hogan's theme music in the background!

    go hendrix!

  • "do you people actually know what it feels like to be me" LOL

  • Lightning wish he was in on the N.W.O vs WWF.

  • Look at Bischoff marking out behind Rude when he says "Sh*T" LOL

  • I'm surprised that Kevin Nash, Scott Hall or Syxx-Pac didn't beat up Rude for what he said about their friend Shawn Michaels, The Kliq.

  • @scuba407

oh man u're right. those guys, but particularly nash & hall....it must be hard to endure rude's speech (even though he did had a point) about hbk when they remained in really friendly terms with him & hhh.

  • Legends!!!!!!!!

  • Bischoff destroyed WCW. He has destroyed anything that he has touched. He will do the same thing to TNA.

  • @whitetruck76 The NWO was cool at the start, but then Bischoff and Hogan played the power grab behind the scene. The WWF was successful because it built midcard wrestlers like Stone cold and the rock into mega stars. WcW tried to the same with goldberg, but it was too late. Also the NWO had to many members. It should have been Hogan, nash, Hall and bischoff.or maybe just former wwf wrestlers, not norton, bagwell, and other midcard punks.

  • @carl2680 NWO adding the likes of Scott Norton,Buff Bagwell,Ray Traylor,Vincent, etc.,gave that mid-card talent instant credibility,Actually,mid-card might be giving Vincent too much credit.LOL

  • check out Hennig laughing after Hogan says we would die for each other. I bet he's like "speak for yourself jackass"

  • lol@all the dinosaurs in the ring.

  • RIP Rude

  • I remember this one actually shocked me when it happened, cause he was just with DX and then BOOM there he was on Nitro. RIP Rude and Curt.

  • who?

  • amazing how rick rude managed to be on raw and nitro on the same day... he at least got time to shave his beard... his speech was gr8 to the point when he spoke of bret hart getting screwed of his title, something which vince still denies to date...

  • @owaisinus You do know that the episode of RAW that aired on this night was taped the tuesday before? So he had 6 days to shave his beard lol.

  • Wasn't this when Nash came back?If so,I was @ this Nitro in Memphis

  • I wish Rude & Henning were alive today tell some real good stories in a shoot interview.Man I knew they have plenty

  • its funny rude showed up to WCW right after he left WWE and WWE didn't know about it.

  • Rick Rude = Legend!

  • Rick Rude was the most loyal friend that a person could ask for according to Bret. He was the guy that convinced Bischoff that Bret was for real about coming to WCW and helped negotiate his contract. Rude also stayed in the room when Vince and his yes-men walked in after the SS match and when he was told by Gerry Brisco to leave, Rude grabbed a chair, slammed it down and sat.

  • @RSXemperor Whick SS are u talking about?

  • @RSXemperor Whick SS are u talking about?

  • Nash and Hall were probably saying fucking right bret got robbed cuz all of them were still part of the Clique

  • @Nimerconstructions It's cause it was the truth.

  • i wonder what kevin nash and scott hall were thinking about this promo

  • Nobody loved this promo more than Bischoff. Look at his eyes as Rude spoke...it was like he was thinking 'yeah, I finally got Vince on the ropes by exposing the WWF'. Unfortunately, he didn't know how to deliver the knockout blow and cut the throat...he let his company's future walk out of the door with no resistance and reinvigorated the beast.

  • who was the company's future he let walk out the door with no resistance? Bischoff made plenty of mistakes but he tried to re-sign Jericho time and time again, Jericho had made up his mind he was leaving. Benoit, Malenko, Guerrero and Saturn left well after Bischoff was fired. The one guy you could make a case for Bischoff letting get away was The Big Show (The Giant) in early 1999, but the tide had clearly turned to the WWF by that point anyways. WCW was a sinking ship by the end of 1998.

  • Let the Monday Night Wars Begin !

  • Comment removed

  • too many fucking members of this shit group no wonder why wcw flopped and vince russo was a loser

  • wcw was still on its wasy up here... it was late 98 and 99

  • hella of a promo we miss you rick

  • rick rude-the best wrestler to never hold a world title!!!!

  • @upthearsenal316 Sorry to say He won the wcw world title not the wwe world title.

  • Rick Rude was a class act, and this was a good time for WCW but it also marked the beginning of the end. I think the filled up NWO with too much talent. I enjoyed it more when the wolfpack and NWO were separate entities and made for better feuds. That and the fact that nash laid down for hogan. He lost alot of steam in his career for that and made alot of people turn the channel over to raw to watch mick foley. WCW had a good thing going but it needed a balance of power.

  • @shizzle5150 No at this point wcw was still going strong. It wasnt until summer 98 that things started to go downhill. In summer 98 wwf had stone cold feuding with kane, undertaker, and vince mcmahon, and wcw had goldberg beating everybody in 5 seconds or less....then there were too many members of the nwo, and hogan had booking control so he didnt want to put younger talent over. And then while kevin nash was laying down for hogan to pin him, the rock and foley were having i quit matches....

  • If they had just kept the NWO to no more than 10 members,it would have been much better. The likes of Bret Hart had no business being in the NWO and how ironic that Rick Rude died not even 2 years later and that the WCW was the "Titanic" ship that had sunk not even 2 years after that.

  • Rick Rude was AWESOME!!! Great look. Great Wrestler. Fantastic on the mic. He had it all. Totally under used in WWF & WCW. Should have gotten a Title run WWF by beating Hogan. Still not quite sure why Hogan is as popular as he is. I have NEVER liked him. Not a great wrestler & I always found him annoying on the mic, but hey that is just me.

  • Rick was working for vince without a raw and Nitrocontract. He appeared on both shows on the same night because raw was taped. and nitro was live. He screwed vince, good for him

R.I.P Rick Rude and Curt Hennig

  • @TwelveInchDick Thts not the reason he left WWF, I belive the reason he left cause WCW gave him a bigger push than WWF wen he was wrestling, being a # time World Champ, how many time WWF champ...0

  • @SydneyRico69 ..No, he was working for Vince without a contract. Thats an actual fact. Its in Flairs book and Bret Harts. Bret mentioned it when he was discussing the Montreal screw job. Rude sided with Bret and jumped ship so easily as he didnt have a contract. Also, he got a much bigger push from WWF in the late 80s. He was a multi time intercontinental champio, when it actually meant something. He held the wcw title briefly when the company was in the dumps.

  • @TwelveInchDick Ok my friend, let a real and tru wrestling fan tell u wats popin...#1 Not having a contract is not a reason to do wat he did, not having a contract allowed him to do wat he did and thts be on Nitro and Raw at the sametime. #2 If he love the IC title so damn much y was he piss cause he wanted 2 work wit Hogan and get a run wit the WWF title, but never did. #3 LMAO, multi time IC champ...dude he only won tht tilte once.

  • @TwelveInchDick And #4, I don't kno bout u but I don't call a 3x World Champ briefly. And #5, it was down in the dumps huh? Well we should take away tht fact tht Ric Flair, Vader, Sting, Ron Simmons, and Steamboat was World champs 2 cause they was World champs in tht period 2...u kno, "the dumps".

  • @SydneyRico69 hahahha..look,im not gonna get into some shit throwing thing with you "dude":). I know whats "poppin" Brother..hahah. Look, you ve obviously gone off and prob wikipediaed rick rude. As for a being "tru" wrestling fan, my friend, ive forgotten more about wrestling than you ll ever know. Id advise you to 1. Grow up 2.Stop trying to be something you re obviously not and 3. take your ebonics and go fuck yourself:). Hit the music!!!

  • @SydneyRico69 oh, and by the way "Tru wrestling fan",that cracked me up by the way, When Simmons, vader and co were on top of that promotion, it was the fuckin shits. Take it from a guy who actually saw it. Bill Watts, ever heard of him? Dusty Rhodes? Well once you re through googling both those guys, you might check out how wcw fared under their booking. That promotion was complete toilet that time, but then again, you wouldnt know anything about that.

  • @TwelveInchDick A I was gonna curse u the fuck out but, u sayin Rude was multi IC champ and sayin he was World champ for not long u r not even worth wasting my time cause u don't kno shit bout Rude bitch.

  • @SydneyRico69 Hahahaha..checkmate "dude"

  • @TwelveInchDick Rick showed VInce! lol!!

  • Does anybody know why Hogan chose the Hollywood Nickname??

  • Didn't he get that name from Mean Gene when he called him Hollywood Hulk Hogan during an interview?Though I could be wrong.

  • wwe today is very dull .. the so called talent has no charisma n everything is soooooooooo predictable... N Hogan in TNA ??? what a waste of money no wonder our economy is n the toilet..

  • @MrNast85 exactly. Hogan did more to ruin wcw than anything else. It was because of his antics that wcw failed. He made the show all about him, and he didnt want to put young talent over. If the wcw had come up with a better storyline and given the New Blood a great push they could be in biz now. The Natural Born Thrillers were great, and so was New Blood with Vampiro. He had a great feud with sting and should have had a title run

  • @fuckaj wcw beat wwe 88 weeks in a row & was way better then the wwe. The wwe sucks!!! The nwo was entertaing & badass!

  • @moose030406 nwo was entertaining at first when it was nash, hall, hogan, dibiase, syxx and vincent/virgil.....the nwo got old and stale because they kept it going for so long and they didnt push younger talent like benoit, guerrero, malenko, mysterio, and jericho...poor storylines, and hogans backstage politics killed wcw.

  • THIS was the greatest time ever to be a wrestling fan. At the office, we used to have watercooler discussions Tuesday morning about who would be the next to jump from WWF to WCW.

  • Damn right it was

  • lmao back in junior high, we used to reenact nWo gang jumpings in the classrooms haha... DAMN the WCW... i've heard things about how the suits behind TNT didn't even want a wrestling show on their channel, and that it was doomed from getgo

  • @Jean120483 LMAO I thought me and my friends was tha only ones to do tha nWO beatdowns..then some 6th grades decided to be DX and of course like it wouldve been in real life beat em everytime

  • R.I.P. Rick Rude

    R.I.P. Kurt Hennig

    R.I.P. Miss Elizabeth

  • Bischoff is smiling cause he kicked WWE's ass on Monday nights. WCW was raking in the ratings and the cash!

Maybe Bischoff is smiling cause Miss Elizabeth is wearing those smokin leather boots!?

  • Rude was one of the coolest and best wrestlers of all time, a shame Sting inured him and cut his career short.

  • I remember this from way back. Watched it live. Fuckin classic!! Jaws fuckin dropped when Rude walked out.

  • I marked out big time when this happened. Ahhhhhhh the good old days.

  • I saw it live on the air, and my jaw hit the floor.

  • well this is an awesome moment but sadly R.I.P Rick Rude

  • Bischoff just had a chuckle of a time in this 1!

  • Rude and Hart were friends. Infact, Rude, Hart, and Henning were very good friends.

  • I would rather watch the glory days here on Youtube an infinite amount of times then waste my time watching WWE or TNA.

  • Couldnt have said it better myself YouTul3e!

  • i also completely AGREE 100%

  • Man u could not have said it any better with that comment.

  • He mentioning Sting at the End. I think thats one of the most under rated fueds. They had some great matches.

Rude beat sting in Japan in his final match

  • rude top ten on the mic period.....

  • I would think more than just Rude there.

I would say Henning, Rude, Hall & Nash were also some of the top 10 heels of all time.

At least Hennig & Rude. Then Hall & Nash were the founders of the nWo....lol that should count for something as far as heels.

  • I agree on some of that i'm talking about on the microphone for his day, he was the man

  • Fire Bastard HHH and Cena

  • The Smooth Operator was 100% correct about Shawn Michaels. He should have gone a step further and mentioned that Shawn was a pedophile.

  • In what way?

  • Double Headliner by Rick. To be on Raw and Nitro at that same time the same night. (BEFORE VINCE BOT WCW)

  • BTW - Anyone notice how badly Triple H and Shawn Michaels have gone downhill in WWE? Just shows how good Hogan really was. Hogan was in his mid 40s here and was still a bad ass.

Yada yada yada but Triple H and Shawn Michaels are better wrestlers...I know. Just saying those two have gone downhill badly in their later years and Hogan was still the freaking man in his mid 40s. That takes talent.

I guess that's why he's THE....THE BIGGEST ICON IN WRESTLING!!!

  • ain't that the truth. Hogan knows how to work the crowd probably better than anyone else. Triple Douche and Shawn Michaels are kind of just "legends by default", because they're the only guys from that era still around.

  • Absolutely agree. Hogan kicked ass well into his mid to late 40s (like in this video) and Triple H and Michaels are a part of an era in WWE that's boring with pathetic ratings.

  • Not their fault. HHH and HBK are crazy competitors. Up until the mid 2000s, they were fine. Even Evolution was a crazy stable. It's just.............

... The writers at "WWE" SUCK ROYALLY. Between Vince's whatever the hell he does and the worst hiring and scripts, well...

Whoever is running the former WWF behind the scenes is to thank for the complete and utter destruction of an ERA.

... why real talent like Randy Orton gets confused nowadays with... Cena... yeah... I don't get it at all.

  • Back in the good ole days before Vince McMahon destroyed wrestling....we had the nWo.....now today wrestling fans have....Cena? Puke.

What's funny is how many complain about McMahon's WWE being TV PG.....guess what? WCW was TV PG for its entire tenure and whooped WWF's ass with a TV PG progduct.

It all comes down to this:

    Bischoff > McMahon

Bischoff is creative and know how to make a kick ass show no matter the rating...McMahon? Can't do it. That's why WWE is in the gutter.

  • Dude, even Heyman if he had a PG show would kick WWE's ass.

  • I agree.

  • Paul Heyman would never go PG. He knows where wrestling's biggest money comes from and traditionally thats from mature, mostly male viewers 18-35. Heyman has said numerous times that one of the reasons ECW was created because he hated the unrealistic, kiddie crap that the WWF and WCW was forcing on their viewers.

  • @RSXemperor A PG ECW would be like Sesame Street!LOL

  • rick rude was one of the best....

  • god this was good shit

  • you damn right

  • a real shoot in every sense reading brets book sheds light on how much rude did for bret hart and how much bret appreciated it

  • No doubt, shooting on gay ass HBK...

Its funny how everyones tries to switch it up like they were watching WWF then...

Even HBK and HHH themselves if they had the choose would have jumped ship...

I remember there was a show, it wasnt on camera but a few pictures were taking of Shawn Michaels in attendance at a WCW show, wearing an nWo and later on just an outsiders shirt....

If anyones still got a copy of those photos post em

  • I wonder what Hall and Nash thought of the HBK remark Rude made?

  • What did it matter?

Thats was real, in later years Nash went on to say worse...

    It was true...

  • "I Hear ya calling for Sting"? They are chanting "Hogan sucks". Grandpa needs a hearing aid lol

  • Wow!!! god promo by rude

  • shame all the dead talent in that ring at that time, rude , perfect, miss elizebeth

  • I always thought of this as Hogan's "Darth Vader" period where his character turned away from his virtuous ways i.e. Anakin Skywalker and become corrupted by the darkside. This night was on the same level as the 1st Monday Nitro when Lex Luger returned from the WWE

  • aparantly Vince took it like a slap in the face when Roode showed up on Nitro on the same night as on RAW(since RAW was not live). he was speachless.

And then when Erik called him out for a match, Vince was insane with rage.

  • I´m sorry to say this, but I would wish that there was a camera with vince, to film his reaction, when rude say this on nitro.

I would like to see his reaction,

  • i was at this nito

  • Breaks my heart that Rude passed. RIP

  • Rick Rude should be in the Hall of Fame along with Savage and Roberts...im tired of Vince McMahon not allowing them to be in the class just because of his personal beef that occured years ago. For his age, Vince is rather Immature

  • Vince is an ass the WWE will have its day when it dies

  • vince didn´t have a beef with roberts`??? what happend between them??

  • Rude was always really awesome, it's a shame his back injury ruined his career. He should have been a much bigger star.

  • Rude was the man. Simple. HBK is a piece of shit but I still prefer HBK to the shit WWE puts out today.

WCW should have made more of Bret Hart they missed a trick there.

  • You can thank Kevin Nash booking and back stage politricks for that one. Keven Nash sabotaged Bret Hart's WCW tenure. If this hadn't have happened, Bret Hart coming to WCW would have been the final nail in the coffin for WWF. As a matter of fact, I pretty much thought it was over when Bret Hart came to WCW. WCW just got really dumb and never did anything with their acquisitions. People believed that the Clique were trying to bury WCW on purpose, but that's a conspiracy

  • @branh0913 WCW buried themselves slowly.

  • Rude was a god on the mic

  • I can't believe Rick is talking crap about Shawn, with Hall and Nash there.

A bit surprising that they worked that in.

  • I remember flipping channels on this night and Rude was on both shows, Raw had been taped and Nitro was live. He was with DX on raw and nWo on nitro. I thought it was fuckin insane. nWo 4 lyfe
