  • That's the guy i remember! I've known this man for a very long time! Great friend and a great performer. He and carmichael simon are long time great friends, so don't compare and hate. They both contributed a lot to the sport martial arts community.

  • sorry bro bro Carmichael Simon will forever be the Man

  • old school like this stil rules over the flashy ballet shit

  • Sorry meant to say Hiro Koda. Also I was talking about Mike winning that musical division. The grands were back and forth back then.

  • You should have filmed the guy who went after him, Kiro Koda, he had one of the sickest forms back then. He beat Mike a lot of the time that year, then Mike won everything for the next 3 years. Glad to see this on youtube got this form at the house somewhere.

  • I have his form also. I will see if I can find that tape again and upload it.

  • those side kicks towards the beginning of the form were absolutely AMAZING!!!

  • awesome! this is when they used to do the battle in the georgia dome! I remember 95 very well.

  • Holy old school!

This is when the Battle of Atlanta has over 2000 competitors. It ain't like that any more though!

  • WOW! this certainly brings back memories. I took 6th place in traditional forms. Also got to meet Don the Dragon.

  • Wow that was before dancers became karate tornament winners. The good old days i was 6 yrs old and about 2 yrs into karate. going on 14 years now and i'm a marine. The only flip he did eas a back flip the rest was all in the techn. but i'm just a young gun who love the sport part. Take it easy

  • I think that was where he wanted it to go but then tricking was invented. If you look at al of his forms there is minamal acrobatics manuevers its all technique and it was more of like tradional and xma.

  • OMG I'm in the background.

  • That's cool!! Brings back memories don't it??

  • I forgot to add that this was when the Battle of Atlanta was in the Georgia Dome. I took first place at the 93 Battle of Atlanta and fourth place at the 94 Battle of Atlanta in the intermediate forms division. That was about my only career highlight in the Martial Arts.....lol. Pulling out these old videos takes me back.
