This is probably the first short where we see Curly manifesting effects of minor strokes. He was not up to his usual self here but still pulled off a reasonably fair performance. It was his next short..."If A Body Meets A Body", where he really started going downhill. His voice here was starting to lose it's childlike high pitch and definitely got worse after this. It is painful to watch him in this decline.

The Original Two Man Quartet is totally over the top. That tune is out of control, and the seriousness of Larry and Curly in their rehearsal makes it work, especially since Moe is suffering from anxiety. A more insane musical number would be hard to imagine. The Stooges had some great people working on their stories and music, sound effects, all of it.

right at 3:41 to 3:45. that's when curly starts coughing because that's when he starts feeling wierd and starts to get sick little by little. man everytime i see that. i feel sorry for curly. well at least he still acts during those last couple of years even though he was getting sick. curly will always be my favorite stooge of all time. god r.i.p. curly.
